#suggestion I recently came across the game Averbakh/Spassky 1956, some say "the greatest move ever played" but the game is so complicated I couldnt follow it. This game definitely deserves the Agadmator treatment!

I saw the checkmate but didn't realize that the bishop is pinned so it starts with bd5 check deflecting the queen and unpin the bishop.

With due respect, whoever thinks this game is better than Kasparov's Immortal probably thinks the greatest race ever run was when he won a sprint against his 3rd grade classmates. The checkmate is nice, and the sacrifices are notable, but white was objectively lost earlier in game. Considering the level of the opponent as well, I think a better name might be, "Malinin's Great Escape".

2nd: What's it like in a parallel universe where 9LX is standard chess, and Garry really is Garry chess? 1 - People are praising Wesley So, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Bobby Fischer & Anatoly Karpov. Agadmator & Levy are talking about Wesley & Nepo all day long. 2 - Garry really is Garry chess here. Switch Bobby & Garry dates of birth. (Bobby's last name here is probably Nemenyi.) Meanwhile Garry Kasparov invented something strange called 'chess1' aka 'Kasparov Deterministic' where you have only 1 SP. Garry quits the 1975 classical WCC Vs Anatoly Karpov, is arrested in Russia (instead of Japan), immigrates to Iceland and dies in 2008. 1975 is not a big loss. Hans is still considered the next Bobby Fischer / Anatoly Karpov while Wesley & Nepo are still considered the current Bobby / Anatoly. 8 - In 2024Feb, FIDE still cancel their 2024 WKDCC, but Wesley & Nepo host a rapid chess1 championship but don't invite Magnus & Liren. So Bobby is still against Iraq invasion. 13 - Most importantly, no one cares about Garry, Magnus, Hikaru or Liren. Specifically, in this world, they care less about them as compared to Wesley, Nepo, Bobby & Anatoly in our world. 14 - Paradise. --- Ok back to reality: --- PLEASE agad it's been 4 months! 2023 USCC - Atousa almost beat Carissa Yip, the eventual winner! Carissa was losing most of the game. Atousa just blundered in the end. That's a fantastic game but it was more of an opening prep compared to Kasparovs peer calculation

As a casual chess fan I wish we could see more checkmates play out like this instead of players resigning when they see it coming.

I found the idea but I tapped out on the calculations once the line got really long. I couldn't work out if black had a perpetual setup somewhere in there to hold a draw.

I have to admit that this was a great game. I haven't seen that beautiful of a chess game since any of the good immortal games. And whoever said this game was better than Kasparov's immortal game, needs to get their head out of their rear end, because I agree with Antonio. While this game was good, it is not as good as the immortal that Kasparov did.

This is a nice checkmate, but not even comparable with Kasparov’s immortal game. Even I found the first pause moment solution and before you even asked; Kasparov’s combination, perhaps not even the best ever players (chronologically: Capablanca, Fisher, Tal, Magnus) could have found, what Kasparov did there is that outstanding and unreachable, and thus above what we saw here, with all due respect for this checkmate. PS speaking of Kasparov, it took the best engine of that time, with the assistance of humans and cheating all at the same time to bring him down, he was that good at his best.
