BETTER THAN A MANUAL MACHINE: How To Improve Balance Using A DIY Balance Beam And Four Exercises

MTB Manual Machines are all the rage right now, but if you’re going to have a do it yourself build to improve your riding - the balance beam (and the drills that I’m going to run through) is the best bang for your buck. You can easily build the beam for about $20 and have multiple levels and widths to practice and take your bike balance and MTB skills to a new level.
In this video, I’ll show you a few different takes on building balance beams, and then four different techniques for bike balance training that you can practice on (and around) the balance beam.

Thanks for posting. I'm touched by your desire to help me improve. I don't have enough time left to do this by myself.

Super!!! I was just looking for a balance to build, width, length, simpler, more difficult level.

Nice videos. I can ride a painted line on the street for ever but as soon as height is involved I get sketchy.

I think you could connect the lumber using a mortise hinge/butt hinge, instead of brackets, and then you'd be able to change the height without using a screwdriver.

These are good, but... Probably not for doing manuals or bunnyhops, you should not compare them , they would be a great other trainer, but totally different

It's much easier on wide tires and a low bb, way too easy in fact. Was starting to think that Jeff and Hans are the only trials riders in the US. Pretty sure there are zero in my state, or 0.5 including me.

    Why not just a curb?
