Some people might not like the nitpicks, but highlighting these subliminal features is pretty helpful as a software dev myself. It helps tell others what they're missing to get that AAA immersion, and nearly no one has done this to the genre before. Thank you. Keep doing it. 👍👍

I'm so happy you brought up the drift. I wish they would bring it back. I think the space plane is An extreme example but even the R-101 drifts. It's one of the things I love so much about the game. The drift makes the planes feel more unique from one another and the T in the middle of you screen actually useful. In AC7 it hardly matters but I miss using it to figure out how to swing your weight around. While I would love for more drifting without the need of the current high G turn system I unfortunately don't think it will come back in a modern Ace Combat game. Because of the learning curve.

1:36 Hey, that's cheating! You used the spaceplane for that, and EVERY spaceship drifts, and since they realistically modelled the space physics for that level, and no OTHER AC game has a space level, that isn't fair.

The drifting works in both atmospheric and non-atmospheric flights in AC3 (kzread.info/dash/bejne/rH2IlseqYtq0iaw.html)

I think this is so you can focus more on warnings+dialogue. If you don’t use headphones, you would have to turn the volume up pretty high to hear the smaller details I rely on (other planes’ jet engines, tracers over my wing, that kind of thing) which is a bad idea, especially if you live in an apartment. My other thought, but don’t hold me to my word because I don’t know what I’m talking about, is that wing wash only happens at higher speeds and extremely tight maneuvers, which is why you can hear it during PSMs and cobras. But if you go fast enough for it to happen, you outrun the sound of it happening.

Sorry, i can't hear your argument over the "missile, missile, missile" (imagine it all in caps) Jokes aside, i never had to rely on sound in AC3 because its radar is much better than in AC7. And if those sounds enhance the experience then realism should be secondary.

Ok This comparison wasn’t that well explained at least to me 🤷‍♂️ However in 5/Zero the Wind whooshing across the plane noise was really noticeable and when close to surfaces etc. Though with “Drift”, in Ace04 (not sure if any other title did the same) your plane Would Actually Experience Minute Drifting when Going High Speed WITHOUT Moving ! As your Nose or Vector would sway from eachother due to Turbulence ! Unless you’re just talking about the AOA Aerodynamics which Ace3/4/X/6 all have

Understood what you meant. AC3 was designed to run on 2MB RAM and 1 MB VRAM (PS1 console) so it's not like this game will be thrilling to play at this age, especially compared to AC7 and others (Flightsim's, etc.). But at the time (>20 years ago), it was at a different league... :)
