I guess he also likes his job much more than his side business. Running a restaurant without having to mind Salamanca's, drug cartells, danger of getting caught by the DEA and so on. It's only his greed and his wish to run a much bigger project than a fastfood chain that throws himself into ruin and finally death. i was expecting Gus saying "what are you doing here" or anything that shows he's mad Victor shows up there, foreshadowing the, you know, box cutter scene. just like how Tuco was mad for his guy (can't remember his name) for speaking out without permission, the same thing that got him beaten up by Tuco in Breaking Bad.
The montage of Saul worried about Kim in the hospital was really well done. Very natural showing that feeling of being frustrated that you’re so helpless to do anything other than wait for the doctors to finish treating her.

bro people there are aware of the cartels and shit. If you saw an old hispanic man in a suit, smoking a cigar, with three other scary looking guys, asking for the boss of the restoraunt, you would know what the fuck is going on.
Imagine telling your friends you'd appear in BCS (the Fast Food Scene) and not making the cut. But I agree with a previous comment, that Hector didn't look that scary enough by himself (not talking about the henchmen, who did the work of dissuasion) and that it would have diminish his aura, somehow.

i don't think he's not scary, but just not charismatically scary, like imagine Lalo instead of Hector in that scene. i think with suspense-background-music it can be easily viewed as a tense scene.

THE kuppi I think it’s just a wee wink to viewers. Believe me, some ppl watch the show at its very surface & that box cutter then victor appearing would’ve went completely unnoticed with no connection being made. @@lyndsaycrawford yes but I think compared to other truly great foreshadowing in BB and BCS this feels a little cheap and has no real tie in to the actual scene. On the other hand if a scene like this, or better a scene in wich Gus asks Victor for a (or THE) box cutter (and gets it) in an episode prior to "boxcutter" would have been greater and more impactful than in BCS.

They should have kept the scene with hector trolling gus customers.
What made BB and BCS amazing are the tense realistic scenes. The Harmanos Hector scene that was cut was a huge missed opportunity to add that tension of the story
They really captured the sight, sound, and feel of the Albuquerque area at night. The whole southwest, for that matter.
Don Hector trying to get his mack on @ 2:09
Gus's annoyance at Victor approaching him. Hood coming out of a black SUV approaching a business owner to talk behind his restaurant? And parking RIGHT next to this notoriously careful criminal to talk to him in broad daylight? Victor overstepping and showing less than great instincts. That car is black so it can't be seen at night, works the opposite in the day. At least that's my read. Victor's information probably was only worth a cell phone snap. Jesse proved to be a superior soldier to Victor when Gale died. Gus cut him down, JUST for an opening for Jesse. Saw that dude he thought was a junky, saw what he was capable of, and thought, "damn I want a kid like that on my team."
Hector, what a man.

Hector putting the chivken in that guys pocket was fucking funny
Chicken drumstick in a shirt pocket is an original move
The music for the scene that starts at 3:38 is so good, sounds like vintage Breaking Bad, fucking love it
I envy Hector's social skills
Imagine if Lyle had called the cops successfully that would have not been good for Gus
5:59 I personally like this scene because of the fact that Gus has a box cutter knife in his back pocket, and if y’all have watched Breaking Bad then you know it’s significance with victor. Even though the reference is cool, i’m failing to understand how it would benefit the story in any way, which is probably why it was cut.
