The Salamancas catching Nacho will likely lead to a war with Fring, and ultimately, it creates a lot of heat and attention. Love this for Mike. Gus made the call in Spanish and Mike knew exactly what Gus would do because it was so much in his nature and since he said it in Spanish Mike knows he’s trying to hide it from him. Mike saying no, while offering no counterstrategy, no logical reasoning, just no, means that he doesn’t care if it makes sense to do it given the circumstances, he simply won’t allow it. He’s not going to let what happened to Werner happen again. He’s willing to die to stop it. This was a crazy good scene, one of my favorites in the series thus far.

I really loved what the writers did with the scene with him and papa varga, especially after reading this comment. Even with his moral code and boundaries and loyalty, at the end of the day he's still a gangster whose only real motivation is revenge. papa varga sees this and rightfully calls him out on it, because he knows as long as Mike is in the game he's in a cage. You even see more evidence of this at the end of Breaking Bad actually. Mike dies for essentially no reason. This is SO insanely great. The acting, lighting, sound, editing and pacing, direction, cinematography and angles, just... WOW! BCS is really an amazing work of art.
When youre such a badass that someone points a gun at you and you walk over to an open door, close it, lock it and then turn around and say, "Whatever happens next, its not going to go down the way you think it is." Mike was a serious old school tough guy like a Cagney movie.

Yeah, it was implied when Mike bought the sniper. When the comment about the stock being made of fiberglass instead of wood, Mike approved because rain and sun would wear down the wood, allowing the sniper to malfunction easily. Stating "someone should have thought of that before they sent in into a damn jungle." Implies Mike was a Vietnam Vet.

I think you might be forgetting some of the heinous shit he said and did during Breaking Bad. 😅 Like take threatening to murder Walt's infant daughter for instance - nothing justifies bringing a child into a personal vendetta. Okay I'm loving the theorizing about Mike knowing Gus was trying to hide the order to get Varga's father but like....he probably understands rudimentary Spanish, and three words that likely clued him in were "padre" "Varga' and "aqui". Lol I don't think he had to deduce anything, he likely just understood him because those are very basic words in Spanish (and one of them was Varga's name). 😂 but again....I'm loving all of the theorizing. Lol
@lilmane1070
Жыл бұрын
Lol yeah those claims are hilarious; even without rudimentary Spanish, familial terms like father are some of the strongest cognates between languages of the same family, the easiest to identify without context English “father” Spanish “padre” Persian “pedar” German “Vater” (the V makes an F sound) The list goes on It’s a certified BB/BCS fanbase moment lol

This right here shows that mike genuinely does care about nacho. He risked getting gunned down by tyrus on Gus’ orders cuz he refuses to jus stand back and let them use and most likely harm an innocent man jus to get what they want. Mike is the only one who goes to bat for him and wants to bring him home safely while Gus jus wants to get rid of him despite the fact that nacho did everything he was told to do.
Mike's probably the shining star this season
Didn't realize until my second watch that the piece of glass Nacho used to break free and stab Bolsa was a leftover shard from the glass that Gus broke in this scene!
You have no idea how ready i was for mike to disarm Tyrus like he did to Sobchak (Mr.x)
"Whatever happens next, it's not gonna go down the way you think it is." Classic Mike.
1:43: I really like how Mike questions some of Gus's actions in Better Call Saul and then in Breaking Bad he's more obedient.
Audio goes out halfway 😢
I just realized what Mike says 2:23 is twofold: it's not just about him being held at gunpoint, but he's also referring to what Nacho might do. This really was the sign that Mike has always been more aware and empathetic of Nacho's hatred for the Salamanca's than Gus cares to know. Turns out Mike was right... Gus was shocked at the end of the day with what Nacho chose to do. Crazy how the one with more foresight isn't the one with a meticulous set of plans and tools at his arsenal.
The only person alive that is mildly involved in this is Nacho's dad, think about that
It is nice that Mike has thought well of Nacho’s father, and stands up to Gus of all people when something doesn’t sit right with him
Gus is actually scared of Lalo and him dropping his glass proved it and now he’s the one who needs protection 😁👍🏼
"You don't understand...I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me."

They actually broke a real glass while making this scene. Fantastic attention to detail. Bravo Vince!
I love these small details, look how the gravitational field of Mike's balls tipped the glass off the table
Gus wasn’t trying to kill mike
When Mike went to tell Papa Varga that Nacho is dead and Papa Varga was talking down to Mike, its a shame he didn't know that Mike was the one protecting him the whole time
_"Mike, did you do it?"_ _"No, Nacho, I didn’t. It’s gonna have to be you."_
"Whatever happens next, it's not gonna go down the way you think it is" and then Varga calls to tell them he will let them kill him
Mike walking to the door, but only to close and lock it, is just another incredibly cool Mike moment.
