True, but with so much media trying to grab everyone’s attention, they have to be loud to get noticed. When people watched tv then, they focused on tv. Now people watch tv, listen to music and play with their phones all day.

I loved Donnie Simpson and Video Soul, watching it constantly!! That was a great era for Funk and R&B Soul, and Donnie was the perfect host to bring it!

What BET needs is do some serious revamping for thier network, I love that being Mary Jane has made it's way back and we have new shows like games ppL. Play and all that but their music programs have fall off. We need our music shows back even if they have Revamp them. We need video soul , planet groove our gospel shows back and a place where our youth can chill and learn about themselves (Teen summit) & we need that time to kick back atfer the hard day of work (midnight love, they can show love to the new RNB ers and have a throwback Thursday night too) BeT we asking you,go back to what you use to do, showing US. Bet News needs to comeback too.

I completely agree with you...but with the current state of the music industry it's not to bery many meaningful songs to even be good enough to be on a classy show like video soul bc the music today is trash...As much as I miss the old BET I rather leave it like it is and just remenience about the good old days instead of tarnishing it's legacy.
