This was great! I understand that they sell internationally and so pictures may be best but I like more detailed instructions. Also, there was not skimmer for my pool. I assume that is why there are to ports marker B. I hope someone can respond quickly - hot days ahead! Thanks so much, Dale, for taking the time to make this video

Going outside in the next couple of minutes to setup our pump with your excellent guide - first time I'm ever starting up a pump, never done it, never had a pool before! 😋

Product is easy to install and kept the pool warmer than it had usually been. Extended the use of the pool by a month or so. Great value!

Sharpie makes an outdoor marker that you could label those icons with until you’ve got them memorized.it lasts a while in the sun.

Just found your channel after installing ours, How often do you throw chlorine tablets in it etc And how often do you shock it? You should do a video on your regular routine etc :) would be helpful Thank you very much for this video Was tons of help

Close setting or the "X" also..plug your B ports before doing so or water will continue to flow

@Victoria-lx7uc so those two plugs go into the B ports on the inside of the pool. You will need to loosen the clamps on the outside and remove the filter protectors and replace them with the plugs.

Thank you. That was super helpful. I was out there today and noticed gunk in the little clear trap. How do I open that without water spraying everywhere? My last pool had shut off valves. This doesn't.

Hello I just got an above ground pool without your videos i would have been lost setting up my filter system. I do have a question how do I get water to filter back into the pool.

My question is on this same model 58498E - In regards to the strainer basket, is there supposed to be a cartridge filter that fits in there for extra filtering or is it simply a catch basket for larger debris? If a filter cartridge is optional, which one? - Thanks!

Use the normal filter setting so you are filtering what you vacuum up. Then when you finish vacuuming that's a good time to do a 1 minute backwash and 30 second rince cycle.

I can’t get my tank closed with the rubber ring on. The two outer rings will not fit over the tank no matter what I do. They hardly fit with the ring off. Any ideas of what I can do? Thanks!

I've snapped two, looking to get a smaller rubber ring, thinking it's a manufacturing flaw from all the recent comments I'm seeing we're not the only ones having issue.

Been to multiple hardware stores and nothing... about to try silicone inside of ring...

Before hooking up the solar pad, I noted that the filter pressure was approximately 4.2 and the instruction manual said it should be under 4.5. After connecting solar pad, the pressure gauge went up to 6.1. Should I now assume that the new threshold for back wash and rinse is 6.4 or over?

Mine ran at about the same psi as yours for both without and with the solar heater. I took the solar heater out as I’m in Las Vegas the sun alone has been enough. Hope all is well.

How do you vacuum to waste? Which setting should it be on?

What pressure is you pump running at with the solar heater hooked up? Mine is running at 10psi. In the manual it says it should be under 6.5psi. I've already backwashed and rinsed multiple times.

Yeah. mine tends to run higher. I think because of the solar heater resistance.

Same with mine…. I just installed everything today, backwashed and rinsed. With the solar pad, it’s running at just under 10psi…..

Went through these steps for initial setup of brand new bestway 18ft above ground pool with sand in filter and PSI is reading 0.4 bar (6 psi) is this normal ?

I followed your setup, including the solar heater. I added the Intex deluxe skimmer (which is working super well), but I had to cap off one return to get enough suction for it. My pressure gauge reads 7.5. Is that ok or too high?

Hi I don't have enough water coming into my filter. I disconnected the solar panel. Still there is no pressure going in or out with the 2 different B sections. I need to vacuum my pool manually. What kind of sand do you use did you have a blue / grey film in bottom of pool from pump

My question is on the pool filter sand - do I need to start with fresh sand every season or can I continue to use last years sand? Thanks for any help!

I would use fresh, it's cheap and you don't want to start the season with last years debris in there.

Thank you! We just got a best way 32x16 rectangular pool & it came with this pump. Our last pool had a much bigger sand filter & pump system with PVC piping. We installed a Nature 2 mineral cartridge. Cut our chemical maintenance down to almost nothing. How could I install such a unit onto these type of hoses?

Where do you get your end caps, like what you used to block off the solar panel?

i know this is a year overdue but would you explain the difference between the backwash, and the rinse settings? i get when to use them, but i don't understand how they actually differ.

Backwash stirs up and cleans the sand. Rinse helps settle the sand after backwash. Gets it ready to filter again

Dale, see message below. I finally figured out that my pump only filters when set to the X setting which is supposed to be off. Does this make any difference - will it damage the pump or was the handle on my pump installed wrong. Please let me know. I see you have surpassed your 1000 viewers.
