the "minty" smell from the primer is the teatree. it does smell quite a lot like mint, but teatree has really good antibacterial powers

fun fact: Horse tail hair is used to make the bows for string instruments.

when i looked up elf and on most of their products say they dont test on animals so i assumed the brushes were made with something else. also people keep in mind everyone these are her opinions. i have saw some other videos that people like most of there products while others prefer not to use ELF

I dont believe that the brushes are animal hair due to ELF being a cruelty free brand.

+Nezza Lopez +Its Just Alyssa (itsjustalyssa) Unfortunately not true. Many/ most (if not all) of the $1 line ARE natural/animal hair. While I agree 100% that animal hair brushes by definition cannot be cruelty-free, for a reason I don't totally understand a brand can still be considered cruelty-free if they make/sell animal hair brushes. I believe I've heard that elf is planning to switch all brushes to synthetic in the future but I can't recall where I heard that so am not certain of its validity, have no idea of any timeline, etcetera. in general It's a loophole that is a bit of a quandary for me & sadly it is not a rare issue. Pur Cosmetics & Butter London - otherwise CF - both include natural hair brushes in their palettes &, while I am no longer purchasing from brands whose parent companies aren't CF, when first going CF I did & I was super disappointed to discover that a select few of Tarte's brushes were animal hair. So unfortunately, as illogical as it may seem, CF cannot be assumed to mean non-animal-hair. Hope the info is helpful!

If you do need brushes try the wet n wild vegan synthetic brushes they are just as cheap

girl, that blending brush is hella good!!

I love most of the ELF products, but I love love love their Waterproof Eyeliner Pen! It just glides right onto my eyelid!

the contour palette the cream and regular is the bomb!! the maximum coverage concealer is amazing too.. for only 3 bucks it's covers so well and it's not watery or anything

Yessssss ya mentioned the mineral blushes!! Those are my favorite :)) I need to do an elf haul ASAP, I haven't ordered from them in the longest time

Hi, Caitlyn, I replied to this video the other day reporting that I had the same experience with the elf moisturizing foundation on a stick. Today, I tried a different application. I stippled it into my pores with my fingers. It worked! No breakage or sitting on top of my skin. Just this difference in application has changed my opinion and I definitely would buy this product again. :-)

i love the elf blushes

The eye shadow primer and under eye Hydrating primer are 2 of my favs that I use EVERYDAY! The studio brushes are amazing too. I use the eye shadow brush, large flat top brush, and the blush brush everyday in my regular routine. The blush palette is great too for regular use.

With the Elf Studio blushes I believe its the one that you have because I have three of them and those are actually my fav blushes especially mellow mauve.. its so beautiful and it gives me like an airbrush fresh look to my face

I like the elf primer but I was so disappointed when I ran out of product so quick. I opened the container and for sure it was a rip off. Try opening the primer container, you'll see what I'm talking about

I really love your channel! You are an awesome KZreadr and I love that you use cruelty free products. You actually convinced me to start using cruelty free products. I hope in the future to become completely cruelty free! I haven't tried many elf products, but I have tried their eyelid primer. If you haven't tried Lush yet you definitely should! Their products are amazing and they are cruelty free and vegan and if not vegetarian. They have such a wide range of products and I definitely recommend trying their products out! Love your channel!

Omg, I also hate the studio blush from elf. I was so diassapointed in it! Unfortunately the elf products are limited in Europe, so I can't get the mineral elf in my hands. However I will buy the elf blush pallete in dark, because I just need an elf blush and this looks much better than the studio blush. Keep up the good work, I loved this vid!

The minty smell in the pore less face primer is coming from the ingredient tea tree oil which helps prevent acne and helps control oil.

I use to use the elf brush cleaner but for $4 more (and twice the size) you can get the Sonia kashuk brush and sponge cleaner at target. OMG, it is amazing and I think you'd love it!!

I like the studio blushes

Favorite products are tied between the Prism Eye Shadow Palette in Naked and the High Definition Powder in Sheer. My least favorite products are tied between the Eyebrow Kit (that I know everyone loves... I just can't get into it!) and the BB cream.

Love their contour quad, mineral blushes, prism sunset pallette, eyebrow pencil and their studio brushes.. Dislike the mascara, smudge pots (I know.. Everybody loves those but I prefer the MUG foiled shadows) and eye wiping pen.

I was just thinking about doing one of these videos! My favorite products are that poreless primer, I got it on my last haul and fell in love once I got past the smell too, which I found out was tea tree oil and the MIST AND SET SPRAY;) that is my ride or die, cannot live without! Least favorite has been the baked highlighters :(

I liked the highlighters. I have it in blush gems, moonlight pearl and gotta glow. but what I notice is cause I've broke them so much so when I fix it with alcohol and leave it to dry they become much more pigmented

the baked shadows are life lol, I brought one in "chocolate dream" beautiful color

Try the BB cream. I was in the same boat with the foundation and the BB cream really works. Good coverage and smells amazing. And great range of colors

Loved the video! I tried the poreless primer and it might just be because I have oily skin, but it was really bad. It kept moving around and it made my face even oilier. My face was itching all day! Nonetheless, this was a great video!!

Wow everyone does seem to like it! I've gotten a lot of comments about it. I doubt they would have a pale enough one to match me, but I will still have to check it out!

if you like a thicker, full coverage foundation, try their acne fighting one! I really like it, I have oily/combo sensitive skin (if that makes any sense), and its my holy grail!

I think they might have changed the formula to the studio blushes they are much softer now ❤️☺️

I have the studio blush in the hot pink color and it's very pigmented. It's probably just hit or miss with the colors.

their eyebrow products the gel and powder pack with a little brush is my favorite... the first brand I ever loved for eyebrows was Elizabeth Arden but it's expensive so I tried elf and literally the quality is very similar!

I got a gift from Elf because it took 3 weeks for my order to arrive. I forgot about it.lol very nice of them to send a gift.

I love the makeup mist and set. I haven't used it cause I ran out but I would spray it on my face for extra moisture before foundation and it left my foundation so smooth and so airbrushed looking. it's better than the Mac fix plus in my opinion. it's only like $3 compared to Mac which is like $20

If you don't like the moisturizing foundation stick they have a clear moisturizing stick that is great for dry spots. I put this in some dry spots after primer and before foundation. I don't know how much it is thougu because I got it from a family member

i love my studio blushes i hqve 3 and they are very pigmented.. my fab is berry merry and a miss for me it the face brush from the 1dlls line

They're not made of animals hair, the whole line is vegan which is awesome!!

What lipstick are you wearing in this video?

Just discovered ELF at the dollar tree and am in love with the smudge pots. I have only been able to find a brown and purple. Even on the elf website there is not a lot of colors to chose from. Do they usually restock with dfferent colors each year?

+Tammy Herman the smudge pots are amazing! They usually have the same colors and some times add new ones on the web site. You can also find Elf at walmart and target, and they might have some more options for the smudge pots :)

My favorite product is the contour palette! My least favorite product I've tried it the 1$ fluffy powder brush.. The bristles feel like straw when I apply powder with it.

Obsessed with ELF's new face care system. So great. The serum, eye cream and night cream are phenomenal regardless of price. Not a fan of their clear brow gel AT ALL.

hate the elf 2$ lip stains! they don't work and are really dry

wow, now i'm wondering if the studio blushes have changed recently or if the quality just fluctuates a bit between shades because i got mellow mauve and it's BEAUTIFUL and you can build it up to a pretty intense finish? the matte ones (namely fushia fusion) aren't as good imo.

Hit: mad for matte 2 palette. Love love love that palette. Use it every single day for simple or glam looks. Miss: moisturizing primer. Super oily and smelled terrible. Felt like vegetable oil.

My favorite product is the facial whip and least favorite product is the mineral face primer makes me oily

I love the elf face cleanser and lotion. But I hate their liquid liner because it's runny and goes on grey

My favorite product from elf has to be the pore less primer! My aunt raved to me about it so I tried it and it's just incredible! But my least favorite thing is the hydrating under eye primer. It is very sticky and it sinks into fine lines (leading to my foundation doing the same) it's just not good.

My least favorite Elf products Is one of the Jumbo Lip Crayon/Pencil. I dunno if it's the product, or the color I got, but NOTHING came off on my lips when I used it. It's bad. But I LOVE Elf.

I was really looking forward to the lip stains from elf but omg when I got mine, it was super wrong. Nothing about it was right. It was super streaky! It wouldn't become opaque for nothing and it looked horrible on my lips! It could have been the color, or my lips, but it doesn't work for me. I was super disappointed :/

Elf smudge pot is my favorite and my least favorite is the elf lip gloss it dries out my lips

my favorite elf product is their eyeshadow pallets. they have medium to good pigment for the lazy/ natural days. and my least favorite is the illuminating pallet. absolutely no pigment.

Hey there, I enjoy your video's. I like elfs mist and set spray. I also like their eyeliner liquid and felt liner. But the liquid liner doesn't say put if you cry or get your face wet. With the felt liner after 2 time use the felt tip wouldn't work anymore. Their brush cleaner isn't that good ether. I haven't used alot of elf product's. I am not a loyal brand user of any makeup products. thanks so much for your video's.

They must have redone the studio blushes because they are amazing there soft creamy pigmented and last all day but I do have a older one and it is awful so they must have redone them

I love elfs studio blushes but I tried their contour and highlight kit and it was horrible 😕

My fave is the eyebrow kit, it's sooooo good, and my least favorite is their intense ink liner, the formula is awful.

Yes Elf is supposed to be cruelty free. I thought they were known for that but I could be wrong. I didn't even know they used actual animal hair. lol idk I thought they dodged it all.

aw i hope they don't use animal hair in their $1 brushes because i own a couple. if they do I'm replacing them. But my favorite products would be their studio blush in mellow mauve, the blush is dry but it's working really well so far and i love the color. Their matte lip pencils, the tone correcting powder in cool, the studio brushes, the gel shadow pots, creme liner in black, and their powder highlight in gold works wonders for my undereyes and is just a nice daily highlighter.
