I lean towards dry, never had a sebum or acne problem (a mini zit twice a year, maybe) , so the Glow watermelon one works really nicely on me, gives a nice hydration glow, enough niacinamide for me with the glow bonus for under makeup. Match to what your skin needs peeps!

I’m very fair toned with dry, non sensitive skin. When I had acne for 12+ years, I also had a skin picking disorder (dermotillomania). When I hit my college years I used hydrocolloid stickers to prevent picking but after years of picking, I was left with bright pink scars. I’ve been using Cerave night moisturizer with niacin and I’m scar free. After ruthlessly scratching my skin off for over a decade. Stuff is magical and if Cerave discontinues it, I will riot

If you are looking for a good niacinamide serum try Tiam’s Vita B3. The texture is unlike most niacinamide serums, it’s watery and workable. No pilling. Not only is it 10% niacinamide, It has 2% Arbutin and does a great job at brightening. This is the first niacinamide that I’ve used and actually love and enjoying using. As a dry skinned person, it doesn’t dry out my skin which is a relief. It needs to be more popular❣️

I really like the Niacinimide from the Inkey List. I like the formula & that I don't have to mess with eye dropper dispensers that may or may not work. This formula doesn't aggravate my rosacea & allows me to use my Rx rosacea cream less often. My skin is sensitive, mature & leans dry. No issues layering moisturizer or makeup over this niacinimide serum (no pilling)

Maybe you addressed this in a later video, but I just learned *today* that the Inkey List Niacinamide serum is not vegan, and their product page has more details about that in the Q&A. I also learned that just like the EltaMD sunscreen that the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel *also* has niacinamide in it already too! Was thinking about trying the Inkey List instead of the Ordinary one, so I was comparing ingredients when I realized the Inkey one isn't vegan. Thanks for this helpful video review of some options, and for all your great videos!

I wish more poeple would talk about palm oil derivatives, it's so harmful to our world but I don't see anyone really discuss it. It's in so many skincare and food products, some skincare products that also call themselves cruelty free but how can they be if they are deforesting the amazon jungle to get their ingredients? the skincare community needs to have a serious conversation about it, we need to take action against brands that use it.

I recommended it to someone else who was going through the Retinoid intro and they said it was AmAzing! And I agree with you that Purito handled that sunscreen situation very well.

I recently purchased a few skincare products, one of which was the Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + zinc 1%. I have very dry skin and assumed the hard crusty flakes that started appearing on my face were a result from using the Cetaphil Foaming Cleanser. This is the first time I’ve heard someone mention that niacinamide can be an issue for some people with dry skin. I’ll be sure to notice what happens if I stop using it in my skincare routine. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I discovered The Ordinary 3 years ago and niacinamide was the first thing I tried out of desperation with an acne flair up that took residence and wasn't responding to anything I had. Obviously it did other things in the long term, but right out the bat it calmed my very angry skin, and the following months I noticed it produced less oil without stripping it at all. Now it's a staple in my routine, using it less or more as I need it.

I have very oily skin and The Inkey List niacinamide doesn't pill on my skin and it absorbs amazingly! By far my favorite niacinamide. The Ordinary niacinamide serum was fine too, but the first time I bought it, it did pill on my skin if I didn't rub it in slowly and had a grainy texture too. But the second time I bought it, it was so smooth to put on and no pilling. I don't know if they changed the formula or what, but it was much nicer the second time. And I purchased from the website both times.

My personal favourite is actually the Glossier Super Pure niacinamide serum (I've also tried The Ordinary, The Inkey List, Naturium, and Good Molecules for reference). It's 5% niacinamide (the perfect percentage IMO, clinically proven to be effective and not irritating at all) and has zinc PCA. The serum is lightweight and hydrating, doesn't cake up, and layers well with other products. It's also fragrance free and has a super simple and solid ingredients list (it does have honeysuckle extract as an anti-oxidant if herbal extracts cause issues for you, but the serum itself has zero scent/no fragrance or essential oils). I appreciate that there's no hyaluronic acid since it's so hard to find products without it, and some people are bothered by it. Also no phenoxyethanol which is like a godsend for me since it irritates the hell out of my skin.

Currently using the Inky List- I just saw the Ordinary one at the store and put a bit on my hand -- and didn't like the feel as much as the Inky- so I stuck with Inky for now. I do use the Ordinary for other products over Inky - but for nicinamide and vit. C - Inky beat Ordinary in my book. Just want to say thank you too- I only started trying these things after finding your videos - at age 39. Within just 2-3 months my parents who are in their late 70s even noticed a difference in my skin. It's smoother texture/look, less redness, and overall fresher look. I think my skin almost looks better now at 39 than it did at 30. I honestly thought most skincare products were scams- I have been disprooven and I love that you include the science.

I wouldn't count an entire brand controversial due to 1 or 2 errors that came up in the brand's history. Samsung started out selling fish & rice first but does not mean their phones are bad. I still like purito and krave despite them having issues with their sunscreens.. stuff happens :) xx

Doesn’t matter what you have to say about Naturium - showing it in a video to over a million people and linking it with an affiliate link is PROMOTING it. Since when do we “forget the politics, drama and ethics” on this channel? There are tons of brands you won’t touch no matter what the ingredients or how good they are for various ethical reasons - stop pushing this shit from a shitty person when there is equal or better out there. You look like a hypocrite and I've lost a ton of respect for you.

I used The ordinary’s niacinamide and zinc. I guess I expected more results in the redness or rather the reduction of it. I don’t have rosacea, I’m slightly red around my nose and chin. Enough that most days I feel more confidant with a light foundation. Now that I’ve written this I know what I need to do. As I’m learning to be a skintellectual, a little research is needed.

It feels great under makeup but it doesn’t do what other niacinamide serums do for me! I also found it a little weird that in a live Instagram, they wouldn’t tell the viewers what percentage of niacinamide was in the product which I found odd!!! Who knows😬 loved this video so much!

hi Cassandra, I love your videos! I love listening about skincare, and I always come and search your videos to see what you think about certain brands, care, etc. Thank you! I've been using the brand "Avant" and I feel good using it, but I would love to hear your opinion and comments on this brand? Also, while I was at Marshalls I saw that they always have skin care for discounts. I thought this could be a video content for you to us lol. Just going over products that are bad and good and recommendations on what to stay away from, since it is tempting to have skincare on discount. grateful for you. Thanks :)

Thanks for this. Normal/dry skin here. I think instead of “Best and Worst” this could be reframed as oily/combo/dry niacinamide. I prefer to get my niacinamide through toners or moisturizers-mostly toners. But I do love that Glow Recipe serum. I can use it as a treatment or a highlighter but I don’t use primer or foundation so maybe that is why. I dislike The Ordinary’s Niacinamide-drying and difficult to layer, I bet I could definitely not use it with makeup. I am keen to try the Purito one! I still like that brand and fervently hope that their manufacturers were only jerks about sunscreen 🤞🏻 I did not know about their niacinamide products.

The Cos De Baha serum really helps with inflammatory acne and post-acne erythema spots extremely well! It even assists in fading my post acne hyperpigmentation spots a bit. I also got some Azealic acid in my Curology formula but I like CDB serum better. So if any of you ever get a Curology prescription I would try directly asking them for a high _(10%+)_ amount of azelaic acid. My custom formulation only had 7%

I like your new set up on the couch, very relaxing! The best niacinamide serums are the RNW Niacinamide which includes tranexamic acid and peptides (does contain alcohol however, it helps it not feel sticky or taky the way other niacinamide serums do) and also the Stratia Liquid Gold. I really don't like any of the serums you mentioned, wah wah.
