They go on about how I need to get my act together, mostly my team captain, and then all I think is boi! You do nothing! How you got on the first string, let alone the position of captain, is beyond me.

This also shows an advantage of why volleyball players are flat chested (i can say this cause i play volleyball and i’m flat chested 😂) When you dig, your whole body is basically hitting the ground. You’re diving to the ground so the first thing to hit the floor is your chest. Some girls on my team are quite large chested so when we do dig training, they always complain that their chest hurts. Although for me it does hurt a bit as well, since it’s hitting my ribcage basically, it is much more easier to get closer to the ground to get the ball.

The best feeling is that someone ACTUALLY follows up your save/dig.

The last time I dove for a ball I sprained my ankle and here are these girls going all out. I'm crying.

digging is so fun aside from the many court burns and bruises u get 😔 but it’s honestly so satisfying digging a ball and then winning the point

This shows there is no easy point in Volleyball. The game has become so fast and the athletes so good that incredible digs and saves are the norm. That is why this is one of my favourite sports to watch during the Olympics

in the moment of the game you aren’t thinking about it bc all of your concentration is for the ball to not hit the ground so it doesn’t hurt. obviously if u purposely dive it’s gonna hurt way more than if you’re actually saving the ball and u usually don’t realize how much it hurts until the next day lol

I played Volleyball (along with Basketball) for 3 years and it was fun, but when I first started it was so hard because I didn't know anything about Volleyball ( besides what I'd learned during Gym). I had open gyms at my school, which really helped. What I'm trying to say, is that, if you want to play Volleyball and you have opportunities to learn about the sport, then do it.

at the place i play volleyball the ceilings are pretty low and it’s so annoying because sometimes it will be a really good play but it will hit the roof

0: 17 to 0:22 and 0:40 to 0:56 were the best saves to me

I think it’s more of a referee thing, such as some refs allow for more leeway in calling a lift/carry. In the definition itself, a lift refers to contacting the ball for too long in either catch or throw, so this may not count as a lift for some refs.
