I own a few Stradics, two are 1000 sized. They are my absolute favorite reels, hands down. I use 4 pound mono on both and couldn't be happier.

I am a Shimano guy at heart. But my favorite reel for trout is a daiwa fuego 1000 . For the price you can’t beat them I bought two of them for this season.

I was thinking of getting the diawa fuego 1000 to pair it with my 7’6 phenix elixir. How do you like them? Would you recommend it over the shimano stradic. I want a feel for specifically jigging with 2lb test.

@@AdrianHernandez-ib7pr I would absolutely recommend it. It’s super smooth I caught an 11.5 lb trout with 4lb izorline using that reel paired with the 7.1” Phenix feather. I also run that same reel on my daiwa spinmatic and my st croix 5’ ultra light and run 2lb izorline and I love it. I’m switching over to daiwa on all my spinning tackle because they have really stepped up there game. I’m buying the elixir in the same size here really soon. Thinking about pairing it with the daiwa Tatula in the 1000 size. You won’t regret it if you buy it.

Nice they were out of stock everywhere. The new vanguard is the new version its ci4 also I think it might be lighter. The vanguard has a 500 size reel.

A 16” rainbow fighting a Stradic ci4+ 1000 on a 5’6” St.Croix Trout rod is better than campfire coffee. YES! Of course, a 16” rainbow fighting a Zebco 33 Combo runs a close 3rd.

I have check out some of the videos after this one! I should be using it! It’s the jam! I’d go 7’6” minimum for trout - if your casting a lot it will help more than a sub 6 🤙🏼💯🎣 GET MADE!

Bro I spent like 900 dollars on trout gear this summer and skunked it. I went in july and it was fished out and trout went deeper. I went to saddlebag lake and I couldn't handle the elevation I had to come back down. Last resort was crowley and I caught a perch smh. My buddy killed it in the month of june for a whole month and he's been up there agian since the middle of October and doing it again. Saddlebag is his favorite lake. He using lures and also trolls.

That was painful to watch. The guy doing the "netting" obviously has absolutely zero clue what he is doing. I sure hope he wasn't getting paid for his lack of services. That was just sad. Beyond the net man having absolutely no clue what he was doing. That net was woefully inadequate in size for the job. Putting a long handle on a small net, doesn't mean your net is any bigger. It just means you have a small net with a long handle. SMH.

Lol it happens. But he’s a good net man and has only missed that one! 💯🤙🏼 I disagree with you on the size of the net, it’s actually landed bigger trout up to 9lbs. I didn’t make that Net it was bought, came that way. LOL but there’s definitely bigger and better nets than from Walmart like that one! Appreciate the comment and watching! GET MADE!

You’re a little late to the game.... The Stradic Ci4+ was discontinued altogether. It has been replaced by the new Vanford series which is an entirely different reel. The old Ci4+ was a decent reel for sure, but it was never the best ‘Trout’ reel. There are/were at least three Daiwa models that are/were better. The new Vanford is nice upgrade from the Ci4+, but even though it’s priced slightly higher than the new Stradic FL series(which makes ZERO sense.... 🤷🏻‍♂️), the Stradic FL is a significantly better reel. How Shimano f***ed that up is beyond explanation.

Sure anglers would like to know, the reels will still be on the marketplace to be bought. I agree. I just got the FL, and you’re right. @@TroutMadeAnglerCo When retailers exhaust their current inventories of the SCi4+, that’s the end of them. Fisherman’s Warehouse has a clearance on them @ $139.99 for all sizes. It’s hard to understand why Shimano overpriced the Vanford vs the Stradic FL.... At least they’ve acknowledged the error and have vowed to fix it.
