Surprised this isn't being highlighted in the comments: It's actually incredible that Levy's turning what used to be his biggest weakness into a key strength - his psychology relative to his opponent. Keep up the great work Levy, we're all cheering you on to go get that GM title!

To be fair, it was quite understandable for any player above 1400; nowhere near Hikaru's level when he goes crazy at it, and very similar or easier to follow than many post-game analyses and interviews on top tournaments.

Levy. You’re fucking great at this. My dad is a high level player and I grew up playing from super you f but go in and out of it. I admire Hikaru, but his recaps are so fast and cliche/mechanical. You move at a pace in which I can get absorbed and follow along and your story telling and authenticity is very engaging and relatable. Probably why you have the huge channel and make the big bucks. We are also all rooting for your GM bid.

so glad to see you continuing your journey to GM and continuing to be pumped about playing competitive high level chess!
At first, I thought that Hikaru was trying to help Levy on his journey. Now I think he's just trying to discourage Levy from his dreams. But then again, he also thought Tyler is never gonna hit 1500.

Hikaru has said multiple times that Levy has the skill to be a GM, but since he has a job, it's very likely that he won't be able to.

I'm rooting for you buddy, do your best, that's all you can do, I think you had an aha moment and you are a much stronger, emotionally, player now. That was more necessary than learning new moves imo
Cheering for you on your journey to GM from SC!!! Go Gotham!

The psychological aspect of your chess is incredible. I think this series is the best content on your chanel right now. Congrats for owercoming you weakness!
so impressed you are going for this dream of yours and putting yourself out there. inspiring
I like the recaps of slow games with the thought process and calculations explained a lot more than the recaps of online blitz and TT games
GO LEVY!! Please continue to support others as well! I love it!
This your best series imho. The thought processes and psychological insights is very insightful.
He chugged that blitz fuel and locked in for the second half
Your observational skills mixed with the ability to remember every calculated step is inspiring.

So happy for you ❤ I believe one day you'll be gm
Honestly even after watching the rounds live I keep coming back to hear gotham thought process during recaps it's always fascinating hearing this
The human emotions and element to it are definitely part of what makes your channel stand out. It's like listening to a good sports drama on television (which it is!).
Great video! Genuinely such a good mix of entertaining and informative 👌
I think something that's not mentioned much, but i think its so wholesome and cool thst Hikaru is completely mentoring Levy with his latest content, i hope you absorb all of his knowledge he's throwing your way! Well done this tourney.
Haven't watched your content for years, but I'm back for this road to GM. Keep it up mate.
You're a stud Gotham! Thank you for the recap!

I love this series of Levy becoming a Giant Marshmellow
Hey adding some love to the comments. Great game. Your psychology is really improving. Best of luck on the rest of the tournament
the blunt joke broke my brain for a second figuring it out
Dude you’re the only sports team I’m rooting for that’s winning so please keep winning. I’m a raiders hawks Braves lightning and of course Levy fan.
That bishop on b7 was just chilling the whole match. Like "bro I am not moving, use some other piece". Man played effectively one piece down.
still not letting myself get spoiled, i enjoy watching your recaps and see you improve
Good luck on your GM journey Levi aka Gothamchess
I can smell GM Levy right here🤔
7:23 had my dying lmao I bout choked on my food 🤣🤣
I appreciate you appreciating those of us who have already seen how this game goes! Lol. I'm not going to claim I watched your recap for EVERY game this tournament, but most i have because, like you said, i want to hear your thoughts since you're taking this GM thing so seriously this time. I feel more invested since you are seemingly more invested. I'm excited to see what comes of all this and i hope you succeed.
Let's go Levy.. keep grinding!
I don't watch other recaps until yours comes out. I want to hear your thoughts on the play the first time I see a match.
9:27 Those arrows remind me of Hikaru 😂
I just find it more entertaining when Levy does the recap
so cool to see you doing well again
I actually love the bunch of arrows. You explained it in an easier to understand way than Hikaru usually does too tbh. I'd be fine if you did that a little more often.
I love how the opening transposed twice from Reti to English to Queens Gambit Accepted
It's amazing watching yours and Hikaru's thoughts and insights on different games. Whether that'd be a championship game or a tournament you're playing. Now I'm a mere mortal just so ever slightly touching 2000 fide I stand no chance in comparing myself to you and even less Hikaru. It's interesting for me to watch because me learning from another human is much easier than some random ass nonense computer like stockfish. Though the move might be better if it's from stockfish but also much more complex. I prefer having both a computer analysis and a human explain different scenarios. Great tournament! I wish you the best :D
Soooo stoked for you Levy!! LESF*CKEN GOOOOO!!!
Thanks enjoying this series.
Another midnight upload - I appreciate your commitment to your audience!
Super congrats, Levy!!!
I'm loving this comeback of OTB levy
Good luck on your GM journey
