Great comparison video. I felt the forks on my 18 250rr were a bit harsh. I dumped the stock fluid and filled them with Motul VI 400 Factory Line Shock Oil at the stock height. Lighter weight, more viscosity stability as the temps change. Was able to use the clickers to get them to where I like them.

I am very surprised that your experienced rider reported that the larger displacement bike (the Beta 200) required more aggression to keep it on the pipe. I would have guessed that the smaller 150 would require much more aggression. Too bad the Beta's Sachs forks are harsh. If KTM would just shrink the frame of their 150 by 10-15% like Beta did, they would have a really great bike. Not everybody is 6 feet tall... Oh, well - maybe next year...

Hey guys! This is a good comparison specially because it has the opinion of 3 different people with different riding levels. Coming from a 2019 Beta 250 and that was too much for the tracks I ride, so decided to lower the displacement. Nowadays I own that same 150tpi and now after 6 months I kinda regret I didn't chose the Beta 200, not sad or disappointed with the 150 but those extra 50cc on the beta makes all the difference, of course everything depends on which kind of trails you ride, I've tried both and what made me choose the 150 was the lower price compared to the beta (1000$ more here in Sweden) and it will be easier to sell or swap when the time comes.

Nice video. It would help if you made it clearer which bike the speaker is referring to. It may seem obvious when you're with the bikes in person, but watching on a smaller screen mobile device later, after manufacturers have cycled through different color schemes, its not completely obvious.. when the bikes are positined next to each other flashing up a quick text overlay visually indicating which is which would bs helpful...especially when Kaylee simply refers to the two different bike's as "this bike" with a gesture toward one and "this bike" with a gesture toward the other. I had to go back and watch/sift through a few different portions of video to a point where I could confirm visually which bike is referred to as the KTM and which bike is referred to as the Beta. Again, I can't see logos on my mobile device and color schemes are not obvious as they change. This year's standard colors are orange/white for KTM and ?? for Beta so even that isn't helpful. Otherwise, good content.

Noah Ashton - I went with the 125x for woods/enduro bike and I ride with 250 and 300 2t guys no problem. I’ve been riding awhile but I’m also 5’9” and 165 and reasonably fit. So I like being on the pipe more and using the clutch. I also like the sub 210lb weight wet. The kyb suspension on the yz I prefer over the ktm. I also enjoy the look on other riders face when they realize I’m on a 125. It hauls great in the woods and trails. For a 21 yr old rider new to riding - get yz and pocket the extra money for parts to trick it out. It’s a great option / less money too... There’s a reason KTM is releasing a 2021 carbureted 125 xc... it’s to compete with the yz125x. The yz will be far and away the cheapest to operate and maintain and Yamaha build quality is top notch... I just wouldn’t pick it overall if I was riding majority more soft sand or wide open areas... but for that I’d pick a 4t anyway. It’s not where the smokers shine.

I have the Beta Xtrainer, I’m 5’5 and had the bike lowered with the 2” lowering kit. It’s fine for what I ride, tight single track with rocks, roots and trees. The suspension is a little sketchy in 5th and above though. Beta does offer a BYOB program that you could upgrade to the high end Ohlins race suspension but it will add $3000 to the price. In hind sight I wish I would have chosen this option. The main reason I chose the Xtrainer is for the frame size and weight. It most definitely has helped progress my level of riding, especially in the nasty stuff.

I'm not sure where he is getting this more low end thing from, my thought was from riding horribly tuned 150"s -- which all of them were stock. I bought a 19' this year and this was a deciding factor for sure. I do like the TPI's but not for the price. I paid $1200 less for the 19' than what they would sell me the 20 for. The extra carb work was worth it for me. I ride within one area most of the time so it's a non-issue for jetting.
