I'm glad this icon is still with us, he certainly could have left us long ago. I owe my wanting to play and learning guitar to this man. I model my style after this "mad hatted axe man". I have such an affinity for the coolness this man as, that I even got the same gunslinger tattoo on the opposite arm, I didn't have buy my guitar, my dad bought a 70's les Paul and a Yamaha in the 80' to play himself, but never learned to. I found that guitar before I even started school and seen the Yamaha and thought , it's very nice. I seen that Gibson and said to to my, wow you're beautiful, and knew I'd see that guitar again in my hands..

Slash’s solos being more about feel and melody were refreshing back in the late 80s when so many others were obsessed with technique and speed.

This is what many fail to appreciate. While he isn't technically the best guitarist in the world, he most definitely is amongst best when it comes to playing with passion and creating melodies that you feel you can actually feel. He brings the music to life and you can hear the guitar crying and screaming with emotion.

In the 80s everyone was trying to mimic Van Halen and Malmsteen but Slash came with a 70s blues style and create the most heavier álbum of the year of 87. Apetite for destruction

Imo, one of the best solos of all time. Maybe not the fastest or the hardest to play, but melody and feel whise, one of the best. Been trying to learn it recently and have literal blisters from it lmao

Do you realize he's fake here? It doesn't hit the notes, it doesn't hit the bands, it doesn't hit the rhythm. For this solo to be the best, it must be played properly.

You are right - his perfomances in the past where better. But it is still the best solo he has written :). Thats what's meant. The channel is focusing on more recent perfomances. If i can find a better one I will post it! Stay tuned ;) maybe he has some more in the tank!

My friends introduced me to Guns in the early 90s. I remember watching the Tokyo live and recording it onto cassette and couldn’t stop playing it back. They all went off into other music but GnR stayed my favourite band and here I am closer to 50 than 40 and still listening.

Guns n Roses were just magic for short period of time but what a time.
