When i listen to GNR, I am always reminded of an old friend, British Army infantryman, who loved GNR. We would sit around playing cards for hours, listening to GNR all night. He such was a good friend for many years. His life was taken years later in southern England in a MVC . When I listen to GNR tonight I am reminded of our friendship. Good memories!!

Listen to don't cry. It's by guns n roses!
Rock music speaks to the soul in a language that words alone cannot express. It's the primal scream of emotion, the cathartic release of pent-up energy, and the ultimate expression of individuality.
God Thank you for being born on this glorious generation.

Guns and roses have always been something special. Even people who dont like rock can appreciate this level of art
@chrisgullett4332
2 ай бұрын
I would not say there is any level of art to this song. It was written by mistake. Slash and Duff have both told the story. Slash records some chords, and hated them. Izzy heard them later and played background to those chards. Axl heard the recording and tried to write to it. Then he got stuck trying to write to it, and somebody said where do we go, and he just used that question as lyrics because he could not come up with anything else. That really is how the song was made.
@pantommy
2 ай бұрын
@@chrisgullett4332 and yet here it is, a song which conveys indescribable emotions for so many people, I can't even begin to put it into words. And the cherry on top is that it was all a happy mistake. That's art. Art isn't inherently about worth or merit, it's about implanting a certain message or feeling in the people consuming the art. Whichever way you manage to do so is mostly irrelevant, what matters is the impact it has on the consumers and the way they internalize. It doesn't even have to be deliberate, and most of the times creators themselves don't fully comprehend their art. This piece of trivia has elevated this song further for me. The journey through which the song was made adds onto the significance of the art.
@chrisgullett4332
2 ай бұрын
@@pantommy Art is specific, not accidental. Seems like you lack the intelligence to understand what I was saying, and thought I was disrespecting them. You gotta grow up? They produced great art, just this song was not one of those art pieces. Not everything has to be fine art.
@pantommy
2 ай бұрын
@@chrisgullett4332 Wow. Seems like you lack both the intelligence to get the point of my own message and the maturity to treat strangers on the internet with proper respect. You have no place to talk about art. You make this a personal exchange for no reason by attacking me since you lack anything else meaningful to say. What a displeasing exchange. Please revise how you treat others, or else I don't think anyone will put any value in the things you say (admittedly if there was any value to begin with). Sincerely, improve yourself and reply with actual arguments instead of platitudes.

Oh yes it got old. Sucks cuz it's a really good song. But it's one af the few that I just cant do anymore. I'm just here to hear the variance. Where I lived this got overplayed. I hate it when a good song gets run into the ground. Stairway, parqdice city. Some radio stations just ruined great songs for me. Now when I normally hear GnR "hits, I change the channel. I still need a break. I prefer all the other songs more now, mr brownstone, rocket queen and anything NOT played on radio or MTV.

My fav band of all time. Slash and Axl together are just pure electric. It's like Axl is the Thunder and Slash is the lightening, individually they are so exciting but put them together and you got the perfect storm. For me no one will ever top them. Pure genius.
