Thank you so much, I'm a painter myself, I've been a residential and commercial painter for 22 years now and I love watching your channel, I use a finish Sander also, I have an orbital but when it comes to fine finishes I use my finish Sander so I don't leave a chance of swirly marks, I use #180-#220 when I'm doing millwork or doors or cabinets and a small sanding block for filler that's in tight corners. I also use a vacuum with a bristle brush, your methods are the best and I know this from experience, you and your crew are top quality no doubt. Sincerely Lorenzo gig harbor WA.

All is well: and I am using a number of your painting trade skill in my work. * No longer washing out trays, pots and buckets each day. * Using a little hot water on the bristles. * Enjoying the pelican brush and roller combo. * Don't be afraid to take the roller off the pole and use it by hand. * After some hours of rolling, I'm seeing nap or small dry paint pieces on the wall. I have been flicking off with a brush or my finger and rolling off. With sincere thanks....out! 🌏🇦🇺

After. a week of prepping and priming kitchen cabs involving much sanding I am burnt out but the show must go on. Learned a lot watching your vids so thx for sharing. Used BINN shellac primer and have SW Emerald Urathane top coat. Couple concerns-being sanding primer with 150-250G. Wish knew about the Bondp cause plastic wool and spackledoing a marginal job. They. E. Old oak cabs I painted10 yrs ago on a whim.

I recently purchased the 3x4 EKASAND and notice that it gets hot after about 15 minutes of use. I have a vacuum setup on it albeit not Ekasand vacuum. Just wondering how you deal with the sander getting hot? It's a great sander and I know why you like it. Smooth and dust extraction is stellar.

Chris if you use one of the true swipes over the painted surface and the wipe turns the color of the paint it’s latex? Right?

Coming from a pressure washer myself, I can see in the intro you are using a red tip turbo nozzle on the house or I could be wrong. We never use them on account of such high pressure because we use an 8 gallon minute machine for most washing. How does it work out for painting?

  • @paintpaintpaintco.6039

If it gets damaged from the turbo nozzle it’s usually a sign that it wasn’t solid enough to be painted. If the damage is from getting to close and it furs the wood then We prime it, sand it and then paint it. If it’s a crazy hollowed out/termite damage disaster blow out then we will repair the problem area, yes we charge the customer, yes it’s in the contract. But if we were not about to paint the house then we definitely wouldn’t be using such a tip. I’ve tried soft washing before a paint job but had adhesion issues. So just water and pressure now. It’s like surgery, get rid of all the nasty, clean it good, repair, make it look good

For those of us who can't yet afford a fine finish sander like the Ekasand or SurfPrep, how safe are random orbit sanders for prepping cabinet doors and drawer fronts? By safe, I mean even when sanding with 180/220/320g, will most leave swirl marks on the doors or no?

  • @sh0cktim3

Should be fine as long as you sand with the grain. If your painting you want have to worry about any swirl marks anyway. That's only a concern if you're staining the wood.

@@Idahopainter it’s an orbital sander, says so right on their website. The 3x4 contact surface is moved by an electric motor in an orbital pattern. Problem is: geniuses like this KZread salesman think “orbital” only refers to cheaper units sold by dewalt, makita, Milwaukee, etc.

Look up “automatic vacuum switch” it’s an outlet that turns on the vacuum every time you turn on the power tool. But his particular sander probably has it all built in when used in conjunction with the vacuum that you can buy with the sander. Those Sanders cost a bunch but are definitely worth it
