Great video, however i feel you could've explained polling rate better, so if anyone is still lost, listen up. Say you had a 1Hz polling rate. That means once a seccond, the controller would report back to your computer what you pressed within that 1 seccond. The higher your polling rate is, the more frequently your controller reports back to your computer what you input. This kinda indirectly reduces lag the higher your polling rate is. Everything over 1k hz polling rate is useless, 4 example 8k hz from ps5 Controller just shows 8times the same latency so its placebo and 8times more "work" for your PC.

So wired on the PC mode, it does go up to 500hz. On Switch mode, 125hz. In other words, just make sure to always connect in X-input and you'll be fine. Cheers!

Hi bro, great video. i have a question. Does the adjustable analog stick tension on xbox elite 2 affect the performance parameters you tested? Did you experiment with adjusting the stick tension during your evaluations, and if so, how did it impact the results?

Thanks 😊 I did not, stick tensions are a physical modification. When talking polling rate and latency, it is all digital readings. As such, stick tension won't affect these parameters. It might affect the user's precision, which is the intention. Cheers!

@abyanshiddiiq4667 If you need a PS5 AND PC controller? I'd go Dualsense Edge if price is not a concern. If you need a PC controller primarily, I'd go Flydigi Apex 4 and probably grab a kit with the dock. Keep in mind none of these controllers work on Xbox Series consoles. The Elite 2 controller is really only decent if you want an Xbox Series controller, not bad for it's hardware modding capabilities but for raw performancd, it's far behind the other two. Cheers!

Excellent breakdown! Can't overstate the importance of realizing the difference between self-reported polling rate versus actual input lag measured mechanically. Pulling rate has become a marketing scam for some I didn't put lag can be very high even with good polling.

Really nice, thorough work! I've got a Flydigi Vader 3 Pro that I picked up for $70 (Amazon price; Aliexpress sells it for $55) and I absolutely love it; I wonder how it would compare to the Apex 4 that you include here. Regardless, really impressed by the versatility and price of Flydigi controllers, and the D-Pad is weird (in terms of being super clicky - the buttons are, too - and oddly shaped) but I love actually using it. Being able to physically switch the triggers from digital to analog is also really cool, and something I'd never seen in any other controller.

If you number one goal is best bang for you buck, go GameSir Nova Lite. You can't go wrong and it's pennies and change. Plus, it comes with a dongle for nice wireless solution if your PC doesn't have a bluetooth antenna (still use the dongle, it's better).

So unfortunately, I do not own any of these two controllers but I did study them for my own knowledge. Vader 3 Pro is the better option, which the Vader 3 Pro is basically the Apex 4 minus the screen and the adaptive triggers. Better D-pad too but the T4 Cyclone Pro is particularly amazing, just tailored a bit more around value than the "feature rich" approach. In this instance, I'd personally go Vader 3 Pro for sure. I didn’t test particularly but safe to say that any controller without PC software can’t do that and even the very few that do, say Turtle Beach, do not support that feature. I would think Dualsense might have a third party software to do that? Sorry I don’t have a better answer but I think you already named the two that do.

They are both as good in terms of performance, you just trade some things, Nova has RGB and HD Rumble. Nova Lite has analog triggers and an included dongle. I wouldn’t stress too much about it, especially if playing wired, as long as those triggers don’t bother you. Cheers!

hi, could you help me ? I still play with my xbox 360 controller on PC and I want to change it, I only play RPGs and action games (god of war, marvel spiderman, final fantasy, nier automata etc), nothing competitive/fps, do you recommend an xbox core controller or another one ? Quite frankly, you seem to have pretty standard needs out of a controller and no specific ones for all the extra fluff. That is why my recommendation is none of the products you mentioned but rather, go with the Nova Lite. You would be shocked at how good (yet regular) that it is. It comes with a dongle, it has no extra buttons but seemingly you don't need it. It's just a very humble, and stupidly amazing quality for the price, game controller. It outperforms a plethora of other ones on the market. If you don't care for analog triggers, I'd recommend the Nova because that would then give you HD rumble and could be a fun thing to experience in your games. I have a 2-in-1 review of both controllers on my channel, that should be a great assistant for you to see if they are products for you! Edit: Just to clarify, the Apex 4 and Vader 3 Pro are phenomenal, but they do sound like overkill for what your needs are, you won't really have much benefits past just being good reliable products but their prices include a whole lot more.

I do not own one. I’m sure they have benefits to them but in the “in-depth” testing communities of gamepads, they do not have the best reputation. One for hardware easily breaking and second for having internal performance that are often sub-par and not overclockable. Google “Scuf polling rate”, you’ll see what I mean. I don’t think it’s the only thing that makes a good controller and I’d love to review their product in the future but I am not at the point that I would spend 250 on one and probably never will with solutions like Apex 4 on the market. Thank you for the reply the emvision pro is 179 right now. One thing I’ve had my eyes on then about is the swappable sticks, side buttons, the G buttons also makes for a very versatile controller.

Consider some kind of dpad test, I play alot of old resident evil games and PS1 games, speed runs etc and ive been looking for a decent dpad for a long time. It would be great to also have a controller that is good all round. Not to mention fighting games which you need a decent d pad for. Maybe a metric you could use is smushy vs clicky and accuracy

I have a dualsense and I have overclocked it for half a year at this point, how do you get those numbers to test it overclocked at 1000 polling rate myself?

I warned during the beginning explanation that overclocking is a thing and that I have not used overclocking for these results at all. I did add the Kaleid to the document after having reviewed them, look at it this way, the Kaleid and G7se are from a performance standpoint the exact same product, identical. I will never not be amazed at just how good the GameSir Nova Lite is. It would be considered legitimately excellent even if it were priced a whole lot higher than $25 + free shipping. I don't know how they were able to hit that price point and still turn a profit. It makes me wonder about just how high are the profit margins on controllers from these other brands? Maybe instead of buying stock in defense contractors and maple syrup distilleries I should invest in game controller manufacturing? That's obviously where the real money is at. I won my Nova Lite in GameSir's launch livestream about a month ago, so maybe I'm a little bit biased here. But, it's been great so far. It feels great in the hand. All the buttons and sticks are satisfying to use. Nothing feels cheap to me. The battery seems to last forever. Cosmetically speaking it looks like the purple Stadia controller and an Xbox controller had a baby. A very handsome baby, clearly. I'm happy to see that it placed Number One in this roundup.

Depends, for example if rumble motors are active but they're saying approximately 10 hours on a full charge which takes about two hours to charge.

They are both great in their own rights but if I could summarize in a sentence, I’d say the Apex 4 is better for immersion and shooters where as the Vader Pro is better for platformers, metroidvanias and Soulslike. Cheers

I'd go Flydigi Apex 4 if money is no objection. For a good value, I'd probably go EasySMX X10 or GameSir Nova if you don't care for z-axis triggers (throttle/brake L2 and R2).

I have thousands of bucks worth of purchases spanning many years back, i generally dont have any issues with sellers, but when i did i never had any issue with aliexpress, the only issue with the platform is that its slow, if you cant return a product you need to wait for 30days to repeal to then talk to support to wait for 1-20 days for the refund to go to your bank, and shipping is 6 days for the controller, but 80 usd shipped to france on a trusted company, ill take my chances.

That's why I personally have no problems buying on Ali, much like you I've bought thousands over the years, this one time was hopefully a one off and the issue was really not Ali, it was the vendor, I just couldn't get through to customer service somehow. As in I would literally reply and they said they would close the request number because I didn't respond... Like 4 times in a row. Anywho, I got it fixed through my bank.

Is every thing the same with apex 4 for AE as the amazon one

Yeah they often get sold out, it's so stupid good. I have purchased many years over AliExpress. I'd say the reliability is as good as the product is. And that's the thing, shipping, customer service, it's usually a very positive experience (except that one time I describe in the video) but before that, I never had issues and I did have to connect with customer service a dozen of times over the years, never anything so drastic but they really do help and offer greater support for buyers. But yeah, the quality of the sellers and products is where it sometimes fall short. With that said, the product, I'd totally get behind it, the Flydigi Apex 4 is a very VERY robust piece of hardware and it's obvious that the company has well-placed pride in their products and quality. Personally, I wouldn't pay the extra inflated tax on Amazon and get it on Ali because it's that much more affordable.

best controller for me right now is T4 kaleid, with 27$ u got hall effect stick + trigger , mechanic face buttons and most important for me is 1000hz wired connect on PC, swith, android, IOS .... so u can tryhard fps game on every platform coz at 120fps and more u almost feel 0 latency at all ! If u try to lose then bluetooth connection is OK !

cool vid. I'm currently using a Logitech F710. Previous I used a F310. That I used for more than 15 years. Some opening up and cleaning and it worked again. the 710 I recently got connection issues with the dongle. I travel around a lot and taking that stuff with me. And the in and outs was after not even 2 years so much that the connection has issues. you know the crazy thing. In old times. When I bought the 310. It had its own software to swap buttons with a freedom I don't see in any controller. Only the very expensive Xbox pro controller has the ability of button freedom. I mean putting keyboard commands on the keys to increase the input or to use it for games that don't have controller support. It's sad that the XBox controller I got had wobbly sticks. For now I keep using my F710 as I at least can change button layout. And as the controller is battery driven I won't have the problems that is known to accu driven controllers. Switch them and they hold for months. just two stupid AA batteries. Sony falls out for me as the controller becomes crippled on PC. AliExpress...I buy shit on Ali. but I wouldn't buy Tech on Ali. My experiences with Ali is that you get the china market tech. Things that melt down by heat or even burn your house down. (USB adapters) Don't buy those. In case of specified things like controllers, you usually don't get the "real" product. It's usually the sorted out shit. So you often have some issues. 30 bucks is my limit for anything I would buy on Ali. If that is shit. I throw it away. But everything else I want to send back and get a replacement. Amazon is quite good with it's return policy. Another thing that would cause me trouble are batteries. Lithium Ion Batteries are very sensible and when damaged they burn like hellfire. Buying a product from Ali with those inside...it's like smoking in bed. I like my life. I don't have a death wish. So no to that.

That PC crippling of the Dualsense seems to have disappeared, I was shocked the other day to see my adaptive triggers and rumble work even when wireless but truth be told, might be a software I installed at some point and forgot about but yeah, that was shocking as those features historically only worked when being wired. And yeah, I catch your drift (no pun intended) when it comes to tech on Ali. I'm not opposed to your strategy, in fact, I think it's a smart one. It's just that sometimes, options are only available there, especially in the niche I cover on this channel. I gotta say, never owned the F310 or F710 that you mentioned but I might pick up a F710 for beeps n giggles in the future because just looking at it inspires me of an era of PC controller gaming, late 80s, early 90s kind of era, yet modernized to tackle the new games. Thanks for engaging and bringing some pretty cool nuggets of wisdom and knowledge in there, love those comments!

I want to say with extremely high likeliness, yes it can. The one reason why it might not is if the phone/device you would like to use it on doesn't have the OTG USB-C protocol, it will not work but that, while not impossible, is super unlikely. If you can plug other devices just fine on that Android through USB-C, say a mouse, a keyboard, a 3.5mm adapter, a USB flash drive, it pretty much means you have OTG support after which, it's basically guaranteed that it will work. Looking for a "good" controller is so hard any more cause what makes them "good" is a possibility of an edge you could have on someone else if they didn't pay to have those physical features. How I wish the Dualsense would just be feature complete when using wireless, I hate that you have to be wired at all times with it. And you are right, at least outside of Steam (thanks to Neptune), the Dualsense compatibility on PC is often a hit and miss, I'm hoping this'll change with Sony becoming more and more invested in PC. Honestly, if you want a no brainer controller, I'd say Apex 4 is the king right now. The backpaddle buttons are not everyone's cup of tea, personally I like them, they don't press if not intended and I can flick my middle finger left or right to action each on each side but there is a paddle mod for people that prefer that. I came so close to buying one to run the comparison but I'll be honest, I've been feeling like I would do better to coast on content I have to make anyway and gain in notoriety for when larger brands want to open communications. It looks interesting but there are some caveats for me personally.

I want a high Pulling rate with a good Dungle.

Flydigi Apex 4 / X10 Mechanic / KK3 Max

i used the flydigi apex 4 for 2 weeks on pc now after my dualsense got analog drift....it is the best controller i had tried...much better than dualsense..the weight, grip, button, battery and the looks

I still have appreciation for the Dualsense but I can totally agree with everything you're saying. How I wish the Apex 4 could be spoofed as a Dualsense to have the triggers behave just like on the Dualsense on Sony's games.

I unfortunately do not own one of those but I've heard FANTASTIC things about it. Who knows, maybe I'll review it in the future but no current plans to do so.

Controllers these days don't last 5 mins. The sticks on modern controllers are rubbish. You end up with the stick sinking down in the socket effecting the movement. The amount of controllers that have some kind of loose connection is staggering. I almost feel like giving up gaming.

Go kb+m my friend! I love controllers and they have their fair share of use in my gaming but for me, when it gets serious and camera movement is involved? I go kb+m. And the thing is, as much as we want to blame controllers, the landscape of gaming drastically changed too. Now, gaming is all about min-maxing, going meta and competing for platinum rankings. Controllers are getting beat up way more than they used to, the sweat plays are mastered art forms. I'm not saying some products don't deserve to get a permanent residency in a recycling bin but to some extent, we also have to realize that the battering these things receive is nothing like when games had a couple platformers and a shooter or two with half of the other titles being JRPGs. Anyway, if you are a PC guy, which I am primarily, I'd recommend turning your interest towards a different method of gaming, you mind find a liking to it!

The amount of dedication and attention to detail is phenomenal in this video and should have many more views than this!Thank you for your effort sir🫡

@@GameTechTalk I bought on the OZON marketplace. This is our Russian marketplace where the Chinese can trade directly without intermediaries.
