Comfeefort, that’s the beauty of this show. It’s just real people and their fascinating personal stories. I’m getting tired of just celebrities getting their family histories done and featured.

I have not seen any of these episodes on television on PBS. But finding out of it from the PBS network app. It seems like a good show I hope PBS can bring it back on the channel so I can watch it from there. As I was doing my family history research I found that I am related to the French explorers Jacques Cartier, Jean Nicolet, and Etienne Brule. And that I am a direct descendent of the Filles du Roi named Catherine de Baillon. Catherine de Baillon is from a minor nobility family in France that traces her ancestry back to the great European monarch King Charles I the great of the Franks who is also known as Charlemagne.

@@lightyagami3492 trying to. I know what family search says, but going up the maternal line, especially my paternal grandmother’s line, is not easy. It’s like trying to find a needle in a whole barn full of haystacks. I can get up to a certain point, but it’s tricky. It was only 12 years ago that I finally broke the wall on her dad’s side, thanks to my dad’s cousins finally sending me what I had been asking for, for 10 years. My great grandma’s side is a bit trickier. One side is Scottish, the other side is German. It’s the German side that will be connected to Benjamin Franklin.

Please come back to San Francisco. My daughter and I are tenth and eleventh generation San Franciscans decendants of the original colonizers. Moraga Bernal Ortega Ayala etc. I cross three streets named after them daily. We have our Geniology very well documented. My biggest questions are my Apache and Yaqui family. My Apache grandfather was sent to "indian school" as a child and my Yaqui grandmother was orphaned after soldiers massacred my great grandparents in thier village on northern Mexico. My grandmother only spoke her Native Yaqui language.

It may be just the American accent that I am not used to, but why does everyone in this video pronounce "genealogy" incorrectly? Can't they see that there is an "a" in the middle of the word, not an "o"? Don't confuse genealogy with geology.
