I drove a sport's car for years. police would pull me over just to look at the car. Sometimes they would get so close to the back of my car all I could see was their windshield. It was like they were going to push me over the speed limit. If I had to brake hard they would not have been able to see my brake lights.

I did a bit of research. The cop who did the pit is not facing any kind of discipline because he had a reasonable belief to base the traffic stop on. The police declined to comment on why the guy who got pitted (who is a captain, no less) was weaving in and out of traffic, speeding, and running red lights...

In case you were actually curious, the types of car police departments get is sometimes based on a rotating lease. That's why, for example, the police department in Calgary, Alberta, has Teslas. CPS don't really choose what vehicles they get, other than Ford Explorers being a consistent part of their arsenal, it can be pretty random and wacky. Folks get pretty mad when they see Mustangs in the police arsenal, but they also serve an extremely specific purpose for chasing, that and, a lot of departments have a brand deal with Ford!

Someone from another agency in an unmarked vehicle being an idiot. Stopping officer had no way of knowing. That was not an appropriate reaction on the one being stopped. On the job, uniformed officers rule over PCs. This is a safety rule to prevent "friendly-fire" incidents. I once chased down a marked sheriff's jail van that blasted through my town so fast I didn't recognize it (89mph in a 30mph zone around 1am.) I actually thought the van belonged to a local cable TV company that had similar stripes on their vehicles, and that it might have been stolen. Even after getting it stopped and seeing its markings, I still didn't know who was at the wheel (an escaped prisoner?). My sergeant and I lit into the old deputy driving it, and later into his supervisor.

When you do something stupid with your car, and there's a police car right next to you, it's obvious you aren't aware of your surroundings. It must be nice to have all the spare cash in the world so you can do donuts around the police car while wasting your tires. Hopefully you don't have to make a sudden stop, because bald tires lack the necessary grip to stop you safely.

The Lambo was a little bit too close to the car infront but also the cop was just waiting to come up with the reason to pull him over which is not cool in my opinion.

1:51 At my local police department they held a 6 week course for civilians, It was basically 3 hours one night a week and they gave us a tour of the police station and what they do. We got to meet the chief and mayor and all kinda of officials. It was pretty cool. But they had an unmarked Ford Mustang Mach E (not a real mustang btw!) and they said it was donated to them from the local Ford Dealership.

Since Dodge is discontinuing the Charger, the Mustang is becoming one of the most commonly used police cars in the US as pursuit vehicles. Cars, not vehicles. Ford Explorers and Chevy Tahoe's are still the top spots overall for police vehicles.
