as an italian who learned how to speak english by watching Nostalgia Critic with subtitles back in 2008 all i can say is that i have all the respect in this world for Doug Walker, though i did stop watching his video since 2011

I was so hyped for that fight with the AVGN, it was such a simpler time. I'm glad i stopped watching him before he made To Boldly Flee and Demo Reel, though i did watch his The Wall review, i mean who hasn't?

Watching his reviews helped a lot too back then,even if I started watching him around 2011 and stopped around 2014. Felt like he had no clear idea what to do when he brought the character back. At least now he's doing a lot better

I'd somehow never seen actual Linkara content but heard Chris and the boys making fun of him for so long. Then when I finally watched some Linkara clips was amazed that if anything, their impressions are understated to who he actually is.

They're poking fun at Channel Awesome, but you can also tell that they have a weird kind of respect for it because of how deep and specific their references are (which make it even funnier if you also understand what they're referencing). No Channel Awesome detractor knows the entire plot of Kickassia front to back.

There's something so cool about listening to people talk about shit that you were obsessed with in middle school. Reminds me of how cringe I was but also how much fun I had.

I will never get over just how based Doug is for laughing along with the jokes and appreciating that the oneyplays guys quote him so often because they really do kind of love him. So crazy how not taking yourself too seriously in situations like this is easily the best response.

What's fun is that we're not just laughing at Channel Awesome, but we're laughing at ourselves for watching their content. This is what KZread used to be, it was ruled by "angry review people" and I love that it happened, but I also love that it's over so we can look back and laugh.

Linkara getting mad over the Running .gif is baffling to me because it's objectively a funny scene. There's no possible way he filmed that, watched it and didn't think it was intended to be funny. Leads me to believe he thought him running in place against a green screen in his 1920s reporter vest was supposed to be this cool badass moment

For 31:33 The first time I got out of the hospital due to a medical issue. I remember bingeing the shit out of Guru Larry while I was still bedridden at home. I will always have a special place for Guru Larry

I love that both Oney team, and Doug are both in on the jokes now. Which I love, cause it’s just for laughs.

Evil Linkara be like: I can take critiscism

As a Channel Awesome fan back in the day, the thing I admire about Doug is that despite some missteps and genuine criticism, at the end of it all he seems like he's legitimately just trying to entertain people and have fun writing and creating his videos. He seems like he doesn't take himself too seriously and takes jokes and critiques in stride because he knows that all of this is supposed to be fun, and that people are having fun WITH him. On the other hand, reviewers like Linkara feel more like they're trying to live some fantasy where they're super cool and important and contribute more to the discourse about the art they're reviewing than they actually do, so when people like Chris make fun and break that illusion and self-importance, they get defense. Or at least that's how I read it.

Ya think Doug just watches these vids and laughs while linkara watches them and slowley gets more pissed?

my dream is to one day watch every episode of the nostalgia critic, maybe that's why my family hates me

Because Lovhaug is incapable of self-reflection. He refuses to improve himself or his work, and therefore he doesn't see his previous cringe as something to improve upon, but an innate characteristic that people are just unfairly shitting on him for.
