Bike: MATTHIAS WALKNER (RED BULL KTM FACTORY TEAM) won the Dakar 2018 in front of KEVIN BENAVIDES (MONSTER ENERGY HONDA TEAM) and TOBY PRICE (RED BULL KTM FACTORY TEAM).
For its 40th edition, the 10th to be held in South America, the Dakar rally is revisiting the Pacific Ocean and the dunes of Peru, which drivers and riders will tackle after a few days sampling the delights of the capital, Lima. Competitors will then head through to Bolivia, for a welcome rest day in the festive atmosphere of La Paz. Argentinian aficionados top the podium when it comes to enthusiasm and good humour, and the most joyous of them will be waiting to acclaim the riders in Córdoba, host to the Dakar finish line for the first time.

I am simple man and this Dakar was just with simple number 100. No big money, no helicopters and handreeds tv cameras. Just team of 3 people with Lyndon on moto gave the picture of rally everybody wanted!
#100 Lyndon postik gotta love this guy(and uncle rick:).. really disappointed that this is as hard core as it gets..and they didn’t even get a podium look in..but deep respect to the mali moto peeps:):)
Malle moto is where it's at no doubt bad ass guys and Lyndon is so upbeat and motivational just makes you wanna get out and do something awesome with your life haha
Salute! The Dakar rally Motorcycle Group is more difficult than other teams. They let me know and never give up
Ughh, I have been watching dakar for so many years and its so sad to see less and less coverage of small groups/companies. Those small teams literally kick asses. I love dakar, but its too commercialized. Ofcourse, it awesome to see how athletes from big teams are doing, i have favourites but nothing compares to struggles of those who dont have those millions in the bank.

I have got to agree with you Lyndon Poskitt is a dam good ambaserdore for this sport and not a mention.
I'm so proud that Austria has finally won in the bike category ^^.

Team riders are awesome to watch but the real Dakar, Malle Moto is on another level, a proper achievement, #100 On It!!!!!!
Nice drive Matthias Walkner, so hard road, many accidents, few good baikers break down. You win, great job :)

Great coverage of the main classes, but I'm really disappointed Dakar is giving so little information about the small/sub-classes and 'non-works' teams.

Most from this footage only includes the portions filmed by the big budget teams like Red Bull. The cameras will always point to where the money is.

450 replica ,all KTM’s are replica 40,000 $ motorcycles not even close to what you’re buying .The Honda is 70 % off the shelf almost

4 KTMs and 1 Honda between the first 5. And coming for remaining categories. Says much about de Austrian bikes maker powerhouse. Seems Japanese brands have some lost ground to catch up.

The Peruvian dunes are the hardest to conquer, fly by them or eat dust.
Once again those who edit the videos make the mistake of placing non-existent names. When the competition was still in Peru, the name of DUNA ARGENTINA comes out at 1:57 when it does not exist. Since the image belongs to the DUNAS DE TANAKA in the desert of Peru. It is a pity that these errors have been continuous in the videos that raised the DAKAR, if for the next hire a better video editor. Una vez más los que editan los videos cometen el error de colocar nombres inexistentes. Cuando aún la competencia estaba en el Perú, sale en el minuto 1:57 el nombre de DUNA ARGENTINA, cuando eso no existe. Ya que la imagen pertenece a las DUNAS DE TANAKA en el desierto de Perú. Es una pena que estos errores hayan sido continuos en los videos que subia el DAKAR, si para la próxima contratan un mejor editor de videos.

Guys, does ANYONE know, what is the music (artist or track name or anything) that covers the video from 3:59 onwards? It is damn good, would love to get it or more of this artist. Thanks for pointing me in some direction, no Music-recognition software did any good :(. Also googling it and trying to find through +Dakar official channels did not lead anywhere. Cheers.
