In this video, you'll learn the best nootropic for depression. This is an update to the video on best nootropic for depression I did several years ago.
This updated video on treating depression naturally includes some of the latest in neuroscience and may help you if you've not had any luck with prescription meds to treat your depression. Or simply want to get off of the meds you are currently using and want to use something as effective but safer to use in the long-term. And with fewer or zero side effects.
Contrary to how we've been conditioned by mainstream medicine, depression is often caused by something other than low serotonin. And one of the reasons why SSRIs do not work for many suffering from depression.
Depression can also be caused by problems with neurogenesis and low Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) or low Nerve Growth Factor. It can be caused by dysfunctional neurotransmitters. Depression can also be caused by prescription medications and even stress.
I provide suggestions for natural nootropic supplements for each of these causes of depression in this video.

    I take a lot of supplements, the two that help most in supplementing my raw vegan diet are whole organic wheatgrass powder taken with my once a day meal and Spermadine from wheatgerm.Both help my mood and energy like nothing else.

    I tried lithium orotate and was one of the few unfortunates who it didn’t work for. I was on kratom at the time though, so if I have any lithium orotate left, I will try it again. I also have bacopa, never opened it yet. I went through a stage of buying loads of vits and supps and felt disappointed, but I do find magnesium glycinate and ashwagandha help, plus rhodiola gives me a pick-me-up when I feel drowsy during the day, so I always carry that around with me.

    5-HTP has a maximum half-life of about 7 hours so a couple days should be good.

    Thanks David for another Great video, very compact and useful content 👍👌 Is it true that L lysine helps with anxiety?! Greatly appreciated 🙏 Could you please make a video about fatty liver it's kinda epidemic and cause serious damage to the brain and energy level. Thanks ❤

    The is some evidence the Lysine could help reduce anxiety because of how it acts as a serotonin receptor antagonist. It with trying and is safe to use as long as you follow dosage recommendations. As for fatty liver that is outside my area of expertise.

    nice video. curious, how come omega 3 (DHA) and vitamin d3 didnt make the list?

  • @NootropicsExpert

    @NootropicsExpert

    6 ай бұрын

    Cory, there are a lot of supplements that did not make the list. I need to draw the line at some stage or we'd end up with a one hour video. But you are correct that adequate levels of Omega-3s and Vitamin D can relieve depression in those who are low in those nutrients.

    Hi there I don’t feel anything on cdp choline. I take 250mg per day with Alcar. But I noticed that Alcar (1g) per day gives me depression for days. Why is that? Shall I switch to Alpha gpc along with magnesium l threonate for studying, and motivation?

  • @NootropicsExpert

    @NootropicsExpert

    6 ай бұрын

    If ALCAR causes depression then drop it and try something else. Those two work together to produce acetylcholine. And that may not be your problem. Maybe it is one of the other neurotransmitters (i.e. dopamine, serotonin or GABA).

    Is there a video of what alternative medicines to take for depression that don't affect warfarin?

  • @NootropicsExpert

    @NootropicsExpert

    Ай бұрын

    It is highly unlikely you'll find a video on warfarin and nootropic supplements. Think about this for a minute. If someone started doing comparisons for each drug and how it interacted with each supplement they'd die before they were finished. And die broke. Warfarin is an anticoagulant. So, the only supplements where you should use caution is anything that promotes better blood flow. Because that combo could result in bleeding.

    To many. How's do you start?

  • @NootropicsExpert

    @NootropicsExpert

    6 ай бұрын

    Great question. And no easy answer. The simplest way to start is if you have ever had a positive response to antidepressants. If you had the find out how that drug worked in your brain. And find a supplement that works in a similar way. If that is not an option then I suggest experimenting with one supplement at a time. If you need further help you could schedule a consultation with me and I can help you figure out which to try first.
