Best NAMCO Arcade Games

Namco (株式会社ナムコ Kabushiki Kaisha Namuko?) is a Japanese company that develops and distributes software in the field of video games, one of the most important in Japan. Namco merged in 2005 with the Bandai toy store, becoming Bandai Namco.
In the decade of the 80s they had great successes, perhaps the most important developer of the golden age of the video game. Galaxian, Pac-Man, Galaga, Xevious, Dig Dug were his first big hits. In the 90's they had many successful series like Ridge Racer, Tekken, Time Crisis, Soul Calibur.
In this video we review the best NAMCO Classic ARCADE games, all their successes, as well as the lesser known ones and their hidden gems, which makes it a video with a high educational value and also for the preservation of the video game.

I've never been a fan of Pac-Man, but seeing it along with the other games Namco was releasing at the same time makes me understand why it was so popular. It was very good for 1980. For a few seconds I was wondering where Ms. Pac-Man was, but then I remembered it wasn't made by Namco.

Namco absolutely *_nailed_* the sound and feel of arcade music, especially in the 90's (Namco System 2 and NA-1 arcade boards, Ridge Racer and Tekken), and they helped pioneer a lot of features that we take for granted in video games today. For example, King & Balloon was one of the first games to feature voice acting, Dragon Buster was the first ever video game to use a health bar, and the impressive Winning Run is widely regarded to be the first truly 3-dimensional racing game. Speaking of 3D, this showcase does a pretty good job of highlighting Namco's experimentation with 3D graphics in the late 80's and early 90's.

Not 100% Namco, but both Ms. and Jr. Pac-Man are excellent games if you are a big fan of the original but want something slightly different. There's also Pac-Man Plus which is just a harder and modified sprites classic Pac-Man, but as fun as it is there's nothing really special there. Still good though. It's a shame that Jr. never got the attention it deserved and that Ms. has been erased from Namco's lineup...

The Outfoxies! Menudo vicio!

@@Elvie_Eddsworld Oh yes, highly agree, the soundtrack in Mappy is really great and timeless :) I still hum the main Mappy theme from time to time, even to this day, as well as the Bonus Round music. Mappy is a game I always have a great time with. It's really fun and amazing overall. I also played the rest of the Mappy series like Hopping Mappy, Mappy-Land, Mappy Arrangement and Mappy Kids, and I have a blast with them as well. I hope Namco one day makes a new Mappy sequel or reboot, as well port all the Mappy games on modern consoles these days.

I came here to see if anyone can help me find a game that I used to really like. It came on Polystation Cassette. *I don't remember the name.* It went something like this: The game is very colorful 8-bit, you have 3 eligible characters: a samurai (wearing white top and black pants), a cowboy (black hat with a gray line, black bread, white shirt and black vest) and a bandit. You have to walk the roofs and roofs of the buildings and from a certain point, you enter one of the buildings. And the first boss to appear was a Knight, one of those who wear medieval armor and used a mangual (a stick that has a spiked metal ball chained on it) And that's all I remember.
