@@fearanarchy Agree fully on that. All the different modes, better visuals some time and also more buttons (expand stuff you can do) if I remember correctly its just 3 buttons on naomi arcade games. Maybe not for all but most of them.

Sega really nailed it with the Dreamcast. They for the first time in ever brought practically perfect ports of the what the arcades were producing at the time to the home.

I like the Dreamcast, arcades were 6 years ahead of home hence no perfect ports. SEGA then released Dreamcast Naomi, for money reasons so now the arcades were a little beefier than the home in the same year. So yes we got arcade perfect at home, but more so we got home standards in the arcade in reality

@@vlaktorbb Yes.. not even true either. Sega Rally 2 on Dreamcast is a huge downgrade compared to the arcade and not even Crazy Taxi is on par with the arcade version.

Soul calibur on Dreamcast surpasses star arcade version by a mile.

I love the distinct look of games on Naomi and the Sega Dreamcast. They have aged so well. I wish that more of these arcade games were ported to the Dreamcast. Given how easily these can be ported I still hold out hope that someone with the source code will be allowed to make new Dreamcast releases. Keep the dream alive!

It was the cheapest route for developers for a few years after the mighty SEGA Model 1-3 era, because there wasn't a more cost effective powerful 3-D GPU solutions on the arcade scene, till PC's became windows/linux based.

@@management7724 Officially ported to dreamcast so yes. Virtua Tennis, power Stone, House of the dead, Crazy taxi and much much more are naomi games from start that was then ported to the dreamcast :)

Man there is something about those AM2 Games that is so special. I'm sure its partly nostalgia, but the graphics were so good for the time they still hold up. Its crazy! How awesome was it to play unique games like Jambo Safari, great fighters like VF, Sega Rally etc

sega had some cutting edge hardware at any given time. What an amazing company

The Arcades were the heart and soul of SEGA., i don´t know if they are till making arcades but they made a lot of IPs and arcade hardware through the years besides the consoles., and after the Dreamcast they really kept on pushing arcades., i guess they might have stopped since the ps3 - 360 generation., hope they release compilations of their model 1 - 3, naomi - 2 games., since the 90s they made only jewels in the arcades

I love Sega and hope they are still making new arcade hardware

I thought I knew most of the games on these systems, I was wrong, so many I didn't know, thanks for these kinds of videos!

I used to love playing 355 Challenge in full simulation mode. I went back to Dave and Buster's one day and it was gone 😔.

I remember the Sega Dreamcast...so much hope, so much promise. I started gaming in 1986 with the Nes and Sega Master System. While I enjoyed my Nes it was Sega that I truly loved. I got my Genesis in 1989 and continued on like that until the bitter end. I remember getting a Saturn the same day I bought the PlayStation the day it released. The dark times that followed were hard as a Sega fan. The Sega Dreamcast brought with it a leap in graphical fidelity unmatched by any generation before it and up until very recently it after it. We went from approximations of what a character might look like to seeing genuine emotional responses. The details on everything was incredible and fully realized 3d worlds were finally at our fingertips. Unfortunately, the hype for the PlayStation 2 was far too grand and Sega of Japan damaged the company so severely in consumers eyes there was no going back. I just wish all of these games had been given a port to the Dreamcast...at least the Naomi 1 games.

With a decent pc you can play dreamcast with flycast or retroarch the performance is superb

Thanks it is a super cool video. I love these games. Besides it is the hystory of video games and i love that.

More than 20 years later NAOMI's games still look great, they aged really well compared with the games before it's release. And then there was the Dreamcast, with the games looking exactly the same as the arcades. If the Astro City is succesful (it looks like it will be) Sega could think about releasing a NAOMI version.

I purchased the Super Console Cube X3, that has like 117,000 games on it from all kinds of consoles. Naomi is on it, with 75 games. Never heard of this gaming system, and it sure is nice! Added the game Shooting Love to my favorites on the console such a fun shoot em up. Wish it were in English (it is in Japanese) to understand more. Great video.

The last Street Fighter Alpha 3 in Arcades only in Naomi.

I own a Net City cab with a NAOMI Net DIMM. So basically, I have every game released for the platform. My top 5 would be: 5. Border Down 4. Ikaruga 3. Samba de Amigo (but I can't play it on my cab. 😭😭) 2. Crazy Taxi 1. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Power Stone 2 and Street Fighter Alpha 3: Upper both get an honorable mention.

Muchos de estos si salieron para dreamcast como virtua striker 2,zombie revenge,crazy taxi y otros pero tambien hubieron muchos que no salieron y otros que no pudieron salir porque la dremcast no vivio mucho tiempo si la dreamcast no fuera descontinuada en 2001 la mayoria de estos juegos ubieran salido para ella almenos todos lo que fueron lanzados por sega desde 2001 en adelante,pero estan porteando juegos de la placa Atomiswabe a la dreamcast y muy posiblemente algun dia podran portear los juegos de naomi ya que es muy parecida a la dreamcast.

@@GAZZ707 Sega is no longer Nintendo rival, so since Nintendo got Sonic on Gamecube, it's not a weird thing to see Nintendo game on Sega arcade machine after Dreamcast is dead.

If they are all running with the DEMUL. If you use the old video plugin (gpuDX11old), in the video graphic configurations you can add shader effects, among them SCANLINES. With the latest video plugin (gpuDX11) these options are disabled.

Este vídeo me llevó mucho tiempo, pero con el DEMUL puedes hacerlos funcionar, lo difícil es hacer funcionar bien los controles. Mi PC cuando hice este vídeo era una Nvidia geforce GTX970, 16GB RAM y un i7-4790 de CPU

And this video doesn't even include Atomiswave or Hikaru games. The Dreamcast hardware was a workhorse, lasting over 10 years in arcades, even though the home version wasn't as lucky

imo Sega Model 3 was the cut off point where Arcade were over powering the home console, I just don’t see many games that I want to down load complete rom set on Naomi. I can get many title on here on Saturn and DC emulator with more option on customization.

with a little effort, if a Dreamcast sega was made with a Sega Naomi plus the sega world will be another, for me a sad fact of history

I used the DEMUL

TL; DR: A collection of fantastic late '90s/early 2000s arcade games (mostly) by Sega running on arcade Dreamcast hardware that should have gotten full console ports to the DC before Sega pulled the plug on the console.
