I’m currently using the ps5 and none of y’all may not know the answer to this but I’m still having trouble finding my optimum mtu because there is no question or statement that pops up saying my packets can’t be fragmented which makes it harder for me to decide what mtu I should use and how far down I should go because what I do is I start a 1500 and go down 10 each time but I’m still confused on how far down I should even go.or if I should change this setting on my ps5 at all so anyone that has the ps5 with the feedback to answer this question let me know it would be greatly appreciated

It would take a long time to join and it would probably be laggy. Possibly you wouldn't be able to join

Thank you Rishi! I would adjust each one separately, so keep MTU at 1500 and adjust dns to Google or CloudFlare first. If the DNS helps, then start adjusting the MTU a few steps lower (around 1400, 1300, 1200, etc.) and see if that boosts the improvement over the new DNS

MTU max transmission units the amount of bytes it can deliver in packets to each end device on the connected server through proxies higher the more data you can send to lessen lag lower less packets to other end devices hence solo lobbies your connection self terminates others connections without sacrificing the server connection due to it only being sending that is retarded not the connection

It might! Try doing small adjustments on this and see if that helps with the fragmentation. If it doesn't you can always change it back to the default

Iiron segev has a great vid on this. He is thetechieguy and explains how to monitor the fragmentation issue by using ping and dropping the mute size by 10 at a time until you see a ping ip that does not say fragmented. Good luck 👍

MTU 800 didn’t work so I did 700 instead. With the 800 people kept joining me. When I was delivering cargo. They were all people on oppressors

Something weird with my wifi or ps4 : like in the afternoon when i test my internet the download speed never went above 60mbps. But in the morning my the speed never went down below 130mbps. (My internet speed i pay for is 200mbps)

Zomi Internet speeds vary throughout the day for a variety of reasons, but one big one is that the total load on your ISP's server can be higher during morning hours (businesses, neighbors, etc.) therefore reducing the speeds that you individually can capture during that time.

I play with hotspot too and I'm having exactly the same problem on rdo man...and whenever I try to join a friend session or start a matchmaking I always get disconnected. Did you find a solution?

Hey, I have a question, I changed the MTU settings on my ps4 pro to try and get better speeds. Before I did the change, I experienced zero issues and it worked great. Ever since the change my internet connection on the ps4 pro keeps disconnecting every 30 minutes to an hour. Any idea on how to fix this?

I had that issue where my connection completely disconnected after, what felt like, every other game. Ever since I moved to LAN cable connection I haven’t had that happen once for a whole year.

I had the same issue running my GTA on an external hard drive and found that deleting and reinstalling the game fresh on the hard drive helped solve this issue

The max on a router is 1500 as well you can do a ping check to see if your MTU size is correct and if it’s not you can change it your router gotta check on a PC is DoS, I got 100mbps connection 1500 is fine for me, I sped mine up by buying a way better router, to change it nat type 1 you gotta make you PS the DMZ port
