Best Memorial Day Speech Ever!!!!

On May 26, 2008, SGT Raymond Hubbard, (a survivor of a rocket attack in Baghdad that amputated his left leg and severed his carotid artery resulting in a stroke from blood loss.) Gave his most heartfelt speech to date. Speaking about his fallen comrades, his family's military history, and what the nation needs to do for it's soldiers, by the end their was not a dry eye in the crowd.

SGT Hubbard is a hero. I showed this video in church services today at the nursing home and assisted living facility where I volunteer. SGT Hubbard's speech drove home the spirit of sacrifice and love that drives those who have given their lives and treasure for their nation - many of whose citizens either do not appreciate or disdain their service and sacrifice. God bless you, SGT Hubbard.

Regardless of what you may think about the current "wars" in the Middle East we must honor and respect those who wear the uniform, leave home and family, and serve their Nation far from home. Forget "politics" when you think of the individual sacrifices made by our young countrymen and women. Vietnam? An unnecessary waste of life and money but don't forget the young men and women who did serve. They did it for us and don't forget it. Respect the sacrifice!!

In every age there are heroes. You want to know the true definition of a hero? He is the man or woman, no matter how brave or important... That are the people who are there when action is called for. They act when the act is necessary, irregardless of their own situation. They aren't trying to be a hero. Most times they want more than anything else to live...not sacrifice their own lives. But they were the right person, at the right time...and they became human, and they inspire us all.

Suddenly my future changed when I receive at dreaded letter. My future would need to take a detour through Vietnam. I was 6 years older than my fellow recruits and had the highest education my unit. I made the most of my time taking care of my fellow soldiers and keeping my eye on our mission = leadership.

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in America now a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us . I'm sorry ma'am, but as a former artillery officer it's my sad duty to inform you this has nothing to do with fighting for freedom. Type "General Wesley Clark Interview" in the search window above to discover how it's all about the U.S. objective to overthrow 7 countries in 5 years. The general is talking about "The Greater Israel Project" to destabilize all Israel's neighbors and expand Zionist borders from the Nile to the Euphrates. That's what the 2 blue bars on the Israeli flag represent.

It really doesn't matter where combat is or why we are there. That's for the politicians. What matters is that America's sons and daughters, my brothers and sisters, are there. I was there when my country called in 1971 and my dad was there when his country called in 1940. We responded without hesitation because that's we do, we Americans. I weep for those who didn't come home, and for our flag, and our anthem, and for all of you who we have served.

It sounds very noble, but isn't that the big lesson we were all supposed to take away from the Nuremburg Trials? It's no excuse to plead, "I was just following orders." You can't just blow off your moral responsibility by declaring, "That's for the politicians." Are you a slave of the politicians? If America was involved in just wars it would be one thing, but these wars are anything but just. These are all bankers wars, wars for oil, fought to line their pockets and promote the New World Order. We need to be exercising some moral judgment before volunteering on a fool's errand. Patriotism is not blind.

It is my flag every bit as much as it was and is theirs. I would gladly give my life to keep it flying and to protect those flying it. This country has given me everything and the least I can do is serve it. If dying is asked of me, I'll bear that cross with honor because freedom don't come free. Semper Fidelis
