    I have epilepsy. Or at least that’s what I was diagnosed with. But even on seizure meds, my seizures happened either with stress or certain foods. I started taking Magtech L-threonate about 6 months ago at bedtime. I sleep great. But I was staying away from coffee because that was a trigger. After watching this, as a trial, I took one capsule in the morning. Then had a cup of coffee. And he is correct. I have a sense of being super hyper focused. But calm. No seizures at all. I can’t thank him enough. Because for years, I’ve missed coffee. If you know someone that has seizures, have them try an L-Threonate supplement. It’s life changing.

    SOY is TOXIC … it was considered, by the Chinese, only fit to use in agriculture, in the rotation of crops. In the 11th century, it was discovered… that, IF FERMENTED for 5 YEARS 👈🏿 … it became safe for humans . But even then .. only a drop or two was used on food for flavour. The soy we consume today IS NOT fermented for 5 years. The deceiving sellers of soy claim that heating it to a certain temperature, equates to a 5 year fermentation. This is BS of course … here endeth the lesson 🤣

I was thinking it would be able to pass the blood brain barrier? Also using Methylene Blue occasionally. My wife has onset Alzheimers. We're also using B + C Complex, Choline with Inositol, Selenium, Oral Iodine, D3 + K2, Acetyl L-Carnitine, Lions Mane Mushroom, Coconut Oil. Also avoiding all sugars and highly processed carbs. I'm hoping we're moving in the right direction. We don't trust the Clinic Doctors and can't afford other specialists. What do you think of the Colloidal Magnesium, it's size and absorbtion? @DrJinSung Does this mean that Vitamin D3 is only activated in the brain and spinal cord when you take magnesium threonate? If so would it be prudent to alternate with say magnesium glycinate, every so often, so that the entire body can benefit from Vit D3?

  • @sookibeulah9331

    @sookibeulah9331

    Vitamin D3 or Cholecalciferol is converted to the active form calcitrol in the liver and magnesium is used in the process. If someone is deficient in magnesium there isn’t enough magnesium for the liver to convert the cholecalciferol to calcitrol so they can often be deficient in active form of vitamin D even if they are taking lots of D3 or getting lots of sun exposure. I don’t know how this works with magnesium l threonate getting into the brain and what impact that has on the liver converting the D3

    Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate is a dipeptide molecule as it’s fully reacted and does not ionize in the stomach. Phytates and oxylates do not affect its absorption. The chelate structure makes the magnesium more effective at crossing the blood brain barrier. Two moles of glycine to one mole of magnesium.

    Excellent presentation. I use a product by Kappa Nutrition that contains glycinate, malate and threonate, which tend to be the most recommended forms. It appears to be a quality product and is highly recommended, but I am not convinced it's providing much benefit as I haven't noticed any difference. I continue taking it because I know how important magnesium is in the body.

    It is a very good source of choline. You might also take your magnesium after eating eggs because egg is a great source of bio-available choline.

    Zoloft really helped me. I put my dad on it when he came down with lymphoma and he was terribly depressed. He popped out of his depression and we had alot of fun together during that devastating time. I personally fought going on Zoloft for a year I suffered in agony because I didn't want to go on an antidepressant. Finally broke down and took it. Within about a month I was singing and dancing...it brought me back. So I definitely would not worry.

    Hello Dr Sung, I have been trying to find studies of Magnesium L-Threonate conducted on humans, that prove the points you have made. I have searched through your links, all the data banks at UCLH here in London, and the usual sources of peer review. There appears to only be one study on rats that supports what you are saying. It is inconclusive. I note that many clinical reports are associating laxative issues with Magnesium L-Threonate. Is that your experience? Also, it appears that L-Threonate may be the effective respondent, not so much the magnesium. I would very much appreciate your reply.

    Dr. Sung...I need more elemental magnesium than 72 mg for my heart health as I have SVT'S. I take magnesium taurate everyday. 400 mg of elemental magnesium. I have noticed my attention and memory has gotten bad due to perimenopause. What should I do? I don't want to overdose in magnesium. But I feel I need both. Any advice or can you steer me in the right direction? I've been doing Google searches on combining the 2 and can't find any information online. Thank you for your help and your channel!!

    If you take too much magnesium you'll get diarrhea, i.e. your body will dump excess magnesium into your gut. A typical dose of Epsom salts for constipation is many times more magnesium than these supplements. So it seems to me that you have a fair amount of headroom to adjust your magnesium dose safely. However, I am not a doctor.

    Perimenopause is the decline of progesterone, this may be the cause of your attention and memory being compromised. Many women will experience the start of brain fog in perimenopause and will get a biodentical oral micronized progesterone to help stabilize the level (synthetic progestins & BCP can have too many adverse side effects). Thyroid level can also be an issue as the hormone fluctuation can also effect the thyroid (endocrine loop cycle) causing brain fog. Best of luck
