Pro tip: studies show using the phrase "lucid dream" reduces the mantras effectiveness , instead try something along the lines of "tonight I will realize I am dreaming."

I had my first lucid dream yesterday, and I thank you Your Mate Tom! I mixed up the 2 methods. Definitly works. For me, it works best if i wake up on 4:00 and stay awake for a minute only. when closing my eyes I just repeat on my mind of what i want to dream, I achieved lucid dreaming. It was short but really an amazing experience. I am a huge fan of "the flash TV series". Before i went to sleep, i recorded a voice alarm incase im lucid dreaming saying: Hey, Jeremy! You are dreaming, you are the flash. Now go and play the hero. I heard that in my lucid dream, but i didnt rush at all. I was in a very dark room and i was just looking around objects by touching them and thinking myself "am i really dreaming, i must be dreaming since i hear a voice" I was looking at the mirror and i saw myself as the "flash". when i look down to my clothes, i dont see myself as the flash like the mirror shows me. So i imagined myself as the flash and looked back, i really was the flash. I started running around the city. Although i woke up in 3 minutes I think. At the end i saw the reverse flash killing my best friend and I was like "shit nooooo wtf" and he said: It is time for you to wake up, flash! and i woke up. I can pretty much remember the lucid dream. I think i was too excited lol

I have so many vivid and intense dreams, but for some reason my mind always plays along with it, no matter how strange or unrealistic. I get mad at myself after waking up for not catching on that it was a dream. I have never "tried" to lucid dream, but this has peaked my interest

  • @JorgenPakieto

    @JorgenPakieto

+Al Capone What I like to do (and it has actually worked for me) is during the day I would check the time on my phone and then I would check the time on a clock. (The time on both the phone and the clock should be the same, assuming they both properly work) if they aren't the same time then thats how you know that you are dreaming) I would do this quite often, at least three times a day to hardwire this exercise into my brain. When I went into the dream, even though I think I'm living my life for real, I might not realise I'm dreaming but because I've hardwired this time check exercise into my brain i'll automatically remember to do this exercise in my dream. In my dream, I checked the time on my phone and the clock, what usually happens is that they would both show different times entirely. From this I am able to realise that I'm in the dream and I can begin doing what I want. - You don't only have to use a phone and a clock to check the time, you can use anything to check the time as long as its reliable. - You can do this same exercise except you just pinch yourself three times a day, when you go into the dream, the pinch shouldn't hurt and thats how you know you are dreaming

If you're a beginner all you need to lucid to dream is high melatonin (not too many bright lights, limit time on devices) and confidence. Try to meditate and go to sleep TRULY believing you will have a lucid dream and it'll happen. If you wake up and you didn't have a lucid dream, you either forgot it, or you didn't believe. Your subconscious is what creates the dream, and your subconscious obeys and reflects your conscious mind's wants/needs. There's literally a 100% of achieving lucidity if you're mentally aware (mindfulness meditation) and believe you will. Go to sleep confident and watch it happen.

I don't know how I have been able to do things like make sure I always know how to fly, making things appear, making things go my way, having one person who's ALWAYS there. I can revisit certain moments from other dreams, and explore places. Its like I have another life. This has just always been something I can do. I'd like to look into it more and see how I do it.

When I was 13 I started having really weird dreams, which made me interested in dreams. I was having more and more lucid dreams, until eventually I had a precognitive dream. Nothing amazing. But I woke up certain that the dream I just had would come true. And it did. This was around 1995. From 1999-2001 I had dreams of planes crashing into tall buildings. The last dream I had was around April 2001. I was watching a screen in the middle of white room. It came up out of the floor like an old arcade machine. It was New York. I saw two huge explosions followed by five smaller ones and the words INVINSIBLE flashing underneath in golden letters. I thought this was a scene even Hollywood couldn't duplicate. Then I looked to my side and a women in a burka said to me "don't worry, it's just a game." A few months later 9/11 happened. I personally found the biggest thing for me in creating lucid and even precognitive dreams is to focus on it. Write down your dream. Go to bed expectant. Think about the things you will dream about. Wake up and try to recall them. The more I did this the easier it got. And vice a versa. The less I thought about my dreams the less vivid they became.

Next time you have a lucid dream think this thought "I want to leave my body". Since the mind is already very disconnected from the body my soul pops right out every time! It is amazing! Everybody who often has lucid dreams needs to practice remembering to try it!

Sleep paralysis is very sp00ky if you have it then just cuss at whatever is spooking you your brain makes chemicals from cussing at something so when that happens you might go to lucid dreaming or you will wake up Or once I peed myself to wake up that wasn't fun XD

This is a wonderful technique. There's an iOS app (probably a bunch by now,) that does the dream reminders for you called DreamZ and it monitors your sleep and when it detects that you're dreaming based on various metrics and measurements of sound and movement it plays a reminder of your choice (my favorites are the logic ones.) Anyway, check out that app. I think there's a lite version and an inexpensive paid version with more stuff.

Las night I had the weirdest experience of all my life wile actually being asleep. I fell asleep at 8 pm and woke up at 12am for a glass of water, (when I wake up in the middle of the night I usually start thinking till I fall asleep) I just jumped out of my bed and then I see one of my brothers entering my room with a glass of water and I start talking to him on how thirsty I was and much I wanted to drink water. (Brother reunion kind of "sleep over" btw) I look at the bed next to the one I was sleeping and see my other bro using his cell phone, I look back at my bro with the glass of water and all of the sudden he was VANISHED, look back at my bro using his cell VANISHED too!! I was choked! I ran out of the bed room and right before entering my grandparents room my brother grabs my hand and I wake up. I was on foot in front of my grand parents room!! It was a vise versa of a sleep paralysis!!

Yo Tom, Great video. I have just started to practice the WILD method (one week of practice) and have had some really interesting results. I just found that my smart phone (Samsung S4) has a Voice Recorder (will let me set the recording as an alarm sound ) and alarm feature that will let you use that custom recording "set" as an alarm sound that plays my "you're dreaming, look at your hands, be aware of your surroundings " message at 4:30 am., (or when ever) a total of 3 times, once every 5 min. I'm going to try it tonight.

Michael Sheehy Bro XD You just record your voice (and I guess you know how to do this) and you JUST change the sound/song in your alarm settings from (for example:) 'Morning Bird sounds' to '(Your recorded voice)'. That's it, so easy :D And if you can't change your alarm sound, then download some alarm apps from the app store, where you can change all the alarm's settings :) hope I could help you mate

Hey :) funny this video was uploaded today as i experienced a lucid dream last night. Ive been getting them at least once every fortnight, But like you Tom i keep getting overly excited when i realise Im lucid and wake up shortly after. What i have found helps is drinking plenty of water before bed so you naturally have to get up at least once during the night to go to the toilet. Nyishar has a good video on lucid dreaming he uploaded recently, where he comments on how you should take little steps when you do become lucid to mindfully examine your surroundings in the dream, such as touching the ground with your hands. This happened to me last night i sat down and felt the ground around me then proceeded to float upwards into the sky and began flying (i always seem to fly when im lucid)

I’ve always spoken about my dreams to family and friends as if they were a day at the office or school. My dreams are very lucid and I remember them very well, with allot of detail. I feel the pain, fear, and joy depending on the situation taking place in my dream. I never tried to induce these dreams they just occurred. So I got myself thinking how odd it is that my dreams are so realistic, that they’ve now become a second world to gossip about in my real life.

Šmökéž it's probably best if you just stay calm, happy thoughts can lead to excitement and will probably end it, just being aware and staying calm can lead into a lucid dream.

I had a couple of lucid dreams years ago by doing reality checks for like 2 weeks, everytime I looked at my hands or turned the lights on I would say "I am conscious" with feeling, after becoming conscious within the dreams I become like a moving eye, a single focused observer manipulating by will what I was seeing, I made one dream so real by will that I could not tell the difference between the dream and reality, the most powerful one was a projection dream I had it happened to me only once after sleeping for more than 8 hours I tried to continue to sleep, over and over I would wake up until it happened I was transported in hyperspeed to one of the lights behind closed eyelids while I saw the rest of the lights as lines passing me by, the strangest thing was that during the whole experience I felt a focalized pain between my eyes and nausea, I was aware of my body, I was like in an ancient place, when I looked at my hands they were white, eventually because of the pain between my eyes, nausea and my overconfidence of being able to achieve this again I only stayed there for a few seconds and got myself out of the trance, it's been 17 years and I have not been able to achieve it again, by the way everytime I woke up after the 8 hrs of sleep I was entering the trance state so I had multiple trance experiences before the wake induced lucid dream because everytime I tried going back to sleep I did it with the intention of astral projecting

I usually get my most lucid dreams during the times between me hitting snooze on my alarms. I'll hit snooze, fall straight back asleep, and get the most vivid dreams ever that I can usually at least slightly control and alter to my liking. I'm only asleep for like 15 minutes until my alarm goes back off again but these dreams can feel like they go for hours and can have whole storylines and whatnot to them. Like I had a lucid dream just this morning and I still vividly remember what the dream was like and what happened in it now almost 14 hours later. The only technique I used to achieve lucid dreaming was writing down in as much detail as possible what I dreamed about when I wake up, which I think just makes me subconsciously pay more attention to my dreams whenever I have them, therefore making me way more lucid during them. I've also found that taking Valerian before bed (I used to take it to help me get to sleep) made my dreams much more vivid. In fact, Valerian made my dreams so vivid that I actually used to get excited to go to sleep after taking it because I was so hyped to see what my dreams had in store for me. Lucid dreams are some of the coolest things I've experienced. I've come out of dreams and been like "holy shit, I was just dreaming, it felt so real" because the dream had actually felt like real life. On the flip side of things I've had dreams where I've gone through traumatic things, and since they feel so real I wake up and actually feel like I went through that experience in real life. I've had dreams that were so scary that I wake up with my heart racing and actually sweating because of how scared I was, and it takes me a little bit to realize that it was just a dream and to calm back down. Lucid dreaming can be a double-edged sword, but it is definitely, without a doubt, something everyone should try and achieve at least once.

What's been working very well for me lately has been using yoga nidra: I progressively relax every bodypart while mentally chanting OM over the bodypart. Try to feel the mantra vibrating in the bodypart itself.

I... I did it! I just woke up from my Lucid Dream! I love the TV Series The Flash and I love Star Wars, so I imagined I had super speed with a Lightsaber and I pushed my hands forward and all of a sudden I just spawned my greatest fear. But I knew I was dreaming so all I had to do was slash it with my lightsaber & he died, so then I ended up meeting VanossGaming who is a KZreadr that I liked very much and I actually spoke with him. That was the best 10 minutes of my life. Thanks Tom!

I noticed that it worked for me when napping. I fall asleep quite quickly and a lot of time I went to REM sleep directly, and woke up after 30 minutes. I took advantage of that to make wake initiated lucid dream. The experience is totally different from other lucid dream I had. I had much more control and my mind was almost fully awake. The transition between those two world is so special. When I done this, It was like if my body was sinking or melting into the surface below. My physical position wasn't important anymore, I could have been on my back but I could think myself into another position easily. After 10 second into this state, I started seeing around me. Just like I was able to think myself into another position, I could think myself seeing. Not long after that, I wasn't able to think myself still, or wasn't able to not see. Then I was shoot into a full blown dream, which I had control If it, or the environment around me. It's such a cool experience.

Reality checks work well too. In a dream, you may have the wrong number of fingers or time may move unexpectedly. Periodically count your fingers or check the time twice in a row, it'll become habit and your mind will likely continue that in a dream. It's worked for me unintentionally when I was much younger. I've been able to lucid dream on and off since I was about 5 but until recently didn't realize the potential it has so I'm trying to learn now.

I was also thinking and i actually tried it, put random alarms but with no sound just a vibration strong enough to catch your attention but not violent either and everytime you feel one do a reality check and when you go to sleep put your phone in your pocket and put random alarms and it worked for me once i felt the vibration and became lucid but wokr up immediately

Lmao that second technique would totally give me nightmares. I’m a super skittish light sleeper so hearing a voice whispering to me as I sleep would just freak me the fuck out 😂 I’ve gone into lucid dreaming a few times, my problem is always staying asleep after I realize I’m dreaming. A lot of the time I’ll just straight up wake up after I realize I’m dreaming, and then there’s other times when I just get the creepiest vibe ever, totally indescribable, and I force myself to wake up bc of it. I wonder why 😂
