    Hey B. I've been looking to get the SBD this past week. But i'm really confused as to what size I should get, maybe you can help me out. I have the Rehbands, size M and they're pretty easy to get on, especially with my tiny calves. My knee is about 15.5 INCHES and that puts me in the L range for the sleeves at around 39 CM. Should I go for a M SBD or a S size? Both will be tight, but i'm wondering which one would suit me better do you think? Would S be too small and tight, or would it work just fine. Measurements: calves - 14"/ Quads 26.5"/ knee joint 15.5".

    I have M Rehbands and intiailly went M with SBD (even though I measured out on their site as a L)... which was a mistake. Way too freaking tight. I have since sold them and picked up a L which fits great.

  • @BasementBrandon

    iosk I'd suggest going a size down from what you measure for either, in my case I didn't measure for my original SBD purchase, I just figured since I wore a medium in Rehband, a medium in SBDs would work. Was not the case. After I went back and measured I found that just going with a medium put me 2 sizes down.

    Great vid! @brandon: would knee sleeves not diminish the strength of the knees in the long run in the same way e.g. straps diminish grip strength when over-used in deadlift? Just wondering, because i'm interested in buying sleeves but don't know the potential downsides.

    Hey Brandon, I plan on purchasing the SBD knee sleeves soon, but I'm torn between which size to get. When I purchased my pair of Rehband knee sleeves, I got a size medium and they still fit well and putting them on is no problem. However, my concern is the process of putting on the SBD knee sleeves. My calves measure at 40cm while my knees measure at 35cm. What would your suggestion be towards what size I should get? I know that they state to go with the calves' measurement but I would like to have your personal opinion on which I should go with. I plan on using these for every squat session. SBD's medium (cm): 33 - 35.5 (standard fit), 35.5 - 38 (tight fit) SBD's large (cm): 35.5 - 38 (standard fit), 38 - 40.5 (tight fit)

    so ive been squatting for a little over 2 years. started on the stronglift 5x5 and am still doing a similar type program to that. i got an inzer belt a while ago and WOW! Helped my squat tremendously. im still progressing but have done 315 for 5 reps as my best lift. would you advise getting knee sleeves? will they allow me to lift more weight like a belt does? also what program would you recommend once i stall out on my current 5x3? thanks and love your channel!

    My first priority is protecting my knees when I squat heavy now that I'm firmly middle-aged, and my second priority is not to waste time wrestling with my knee sleeves to get them on with every single workout (particularly training on an everyday squat routine). Since I'm not so interested in using them to add an extra five pounds or so on my squat, would you still recommend SBD, and if so at a size lower than my calf/knee? Thank you in advance for your consideration

    What I like about the Rehband is the ease of getting them on and off while still getting the support on the knees. you can also get a size smaller and get a tighter fit on the Rehband to give you that extra support and rebound as well. I think I liked the fact that I don't have to struggle to get them on and off as I use to with other types of knee sleeves.

  • @BasementBrandon

    @BasementBrandon

    4 жыл бұрын

    I've found they don't offer nearly the same level of support.

  • @trevino37

    @trevino37

    4 жыл бұрын

    @Brandon I can see that to be true. What I find is that the SBD is longer giving you a large support area. I know this is especially true for the elbow sleeves. The Rehband are too short and prefer the SBD for elbow sleeves but again as you stated, go with rehband if you prefer quick and easy with support or SBD if you want more support and don’t mind the extra struggle putting it on and off. Have you tried doing a video for waistband? There is the original rehband and the new model in grey with Velcro belt called power line.. no info on difference. What’s your experience with these if you have any?

    Hey man. I ended up getting the mediums. They're snug, however I feel like I could have gotten away with smalls. Might still ordered the smalls too! Haha. The mediums can't really double as calf compression sleeves for me. However I feel like the smalls could. Quick question though. I find that the sleeve bunches up a little behind the knee (during the bottom of a squat) do you experience this at all? I'm wondering if it could be because I'm meant for a small! Appreciate your quick responses!

But 14 still crosses over to a tight fit for smalls, But for mediums too! I don't want them to be too tight where they're going to cut off my circulation. I'd probably suggest the Rebhands here, or one that's a bit less thick. These are great for squats, but if you're moving around a ton, they might limit you a bit.

    Hey man, so basically as it mentioned on the website, i should be measuring 15cm from my knee cap and my measurement is 39cm, which is a size large on the rehband website. So i should order a size medium??? Just making sure to avoid the hassle of having to return them if they are too loose.

    I see you are a medium in the SBDs Brandon. What size are you in the Rehbands? I am a size M in rehbands, and am not looking for any help out the hole, purely comfort, support and warmth for my knees as they feel taxed after squatting 3-4 times a week. I was thinking a Large in the SBDs would be a better fit. I'm about a 14.5in or 37cm. Love all your videos man and keep killing it. Big love from Scotland brother.

    Hey Brandon, I have been looking to buy the SBD sleeves and when it comes to sizing, i measured my knees. I am unsure about where exactly should I measure my knee joint. On the knee cap it is 39cms, just below the knee cap its 37cm. 39cm would mean i need a large if I go a size down. What sizing do you think would be optimal? If I would base my buy on the lower value measured I would have to go Medium (one size down from large). Thanks!

I need knee selves to support my joints while installing hardwood flooring in my home. I have used a Velcro closure type and the bands cut into the back of my knees...really hurts.
