Best Jim Carrey Interview Ever!! The Tonight Show 1994 with Jay Leno - Dumb & Dumber Interview

This is one of the most amazing Tonight Show interviews of all time. In December 1994, while promoting Dumb & Dumber, Jim Carrey completely took over The Tonight Show. In it, he "hypnotizes" the audience and makes them applause at will, explains how he was abducted by aliens and shows the "markings" on his abdomen by drawing on it with a marker, and finally sings "White Christmas" perfectly out of key. Amazing. Enjoy!

    Thanks for all the responses - I've watched many Jim Carrey interviews and IMO this is a masterpiece. Jim at his peak popularity. I happened to have it on VHS from back in the day, and discovering that it was not available anywhere, decided it was my duty to give it to the world. Glad you could all enjoy!

    Jim Carrey in the 90s was a force. I remember knowing when his appearances on late night talk shows would be and my mom would let me stay up to watch. This interview is a prime example as why. Jim Carrey is really an incredible performer/actor. He became a superstar with his comic persona and physical comedy, made millions, and could've stuck with that the rest of his career, but instead kept pushing himself and is equally talented in more dramatic roles, even starring in great films like 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and 'The Truman Show'. And even then, he's never lost touch with his comedy and is funnier than he ever has been. Like Robin Williams, he can improvise like a true genius. He deserves a lot of respect.

    2023 still a huge inspiration to me. If you know his full story. He went from homeless as a child to doing much better for himself. • @palestar828

    @palestar828

    @@jadenwaz9585 well yeah.... He started appearing in more darker, serious films and his audience started judging him harshly for that, expecting him to be the funny man 24/7 as if he was some kind of preforming puppet. He lost a lot of respect from people because he took on darker roles and apparently, people didn't like or agree with that direction, but it's not their choice. That would be depressing after a few years of feeling like you're never good enough. The point should have been the fact that he could do ANY job-funny, serious, dark and he took on any role with perfection, but that wasn't good enough for people. So he became spiritual. He found himself and people STILL aren't happy with him proving that they only liked him when he was acting a certain way. That would be depressing for ANY person. It doesn't matter because true fans respect him any way that he is

If anybody else and I mean anybody tried his stuff, act the way he acts, talk the way he talks, even his jokes, his whole routine is super cringe but somehow, SOMEHOW his energy and spirit overshadows all that, I think that is exactly what he was trying to achieve, be the only one cringe proof, even while performing cringe, it's truly amazing.

    mike Lazembie He is one of the few actors/comedians who took "the job" seriously. He doesn't have a lungs full of air,its filled with laughing gas. He has a natural sense of humour that makes even the most grumpy person to laugh. Not everyone can do it like he had been doing it for years as if its a piece of cake. It is for him. Wow,I almost typed an essay. I guess its not easy for me being dead drunk and watch Jims funny interviews and type less about him.

    It is just impossible to explain to someone who didn't experience his prime as a comedic actor, just how popular he was at the time. His humor doesn't really translate well to today's taste, and there really isn't anyone these days who could even hold a candle to the success Carey had in the mid 90s. He was the first movie star ever to earn 25+ million dollars per movie, which he earned for 5 movies in a row...think about that. In today's terms that's more like 35+ million per movie, which is unheard of.
