a show that puts words in the mouth of Yeshua is an abomination. It is likened as a fence separating two things. One desires to sit on the fence as they enjoy what satan has created and what YHWH has created. One likes Disney and Anime and the Kingdom of heaven. You thank Jesus for his humour in that scene? You know that isn’t Jesus right? His name is Jonathan Roumie. Nobody knows if Jesus actually had humour like that, those aren’t words from scripture. Sure he might of had a sense of humour but it’s dangerous to start assuming things about Jesus that God hasn’t chose to reveal through His word.

God's the clean shit! He literally created comedy in the begining. In your Bible first verse. First Word. Bereshit, “In the Beginning” He's also the Alpha! So no one can claim that their "the shit". I agree!! Praise God! I was delivered from Depression. And as soon as I felt it lift off of me..I was given by the Lord an amazing feeling of great joy that I couldn't explain . It was so strong that I just had to dance . So I danced in my bedroom like no one was watching me. I have never felt such joy. But the Lord knew that I needed that joy. I'm so blessed by the Lord. He took away my depression!! He can also help you with WHATEVER you need. He can give you great happiness too. Praise The Lord . He can do miracles in your life too. Just have to believe. Joy is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, so where He is there will always be joy! Of course, God has a sense of humor, just look at the platypus! Look at how many animals play. And the Bible tells us that we are made in God’s image, so if we have a sense of humor, it stands to reason that, so does He!

Jesus was gonna kick some demon rear that night, into oblivion. Jesus had a sense of humor, he was not a stiff sad looking person with two fingers over people like the paintings portray, he brought happiness and peace of mind to people. If you notice, he wants people to see things from God's eye view, from a human's perspective, everything is a calamity and a reason to panic, but from his view, all is well, if your problems have a solution, why worry? And if they don't, why worry? There is a time for everything.

Mark E Biddle has a great book about this called "A Time to Laugh"

My favorite was when Jesus walked into Simon’s home. Eden had her back to the door, preparing food. When she heard someone behind her, she turned around and said “Oh, Jesus, I wasn’t expecting to see you today.” Jesus replied “people usually aren’t”. Make me laugh every time.

I stayed strong BC after so long of trying to go to anything else but god they all failed me so I held on to god as the reason let me skip to now and say I started off faithless now I'm so faithful in god I started off worried for my future now I know its something gods gonna handle I'm not feeling depressed anymore the whole year of 2022 was hard but with god I made it threw! Well for me it just makes the Bible more easier or makes more sense or BOOM jumps out at you. Now when I read water into wine or women at well or raising dead etc, I think of the scene in movie an its like Ya ya been there.. Before I watched this show, the idea of Jesus cracking jokes never occurred to me, and I couldn't picture him laughing at anything. So this aspect of the show just.... warmed me from the inside out. I can't wait to meet Him in person ☺️

I've known Him pretty much my entire life, but I pictured Him as this austere being that grew sick of me and how many times I'd come back to Him asking for forgiveness for the same thing. I've only recently started accepting that He's the sort of God who literally does a happy dance when I open up and talk to Him. All that to say, this show demonstrates the human side to Jesus that I tend to forget is there, and I've never loved Him more.

This is why I rely more on this show to know what Jesus is really like. Apart from what I learned from my parents and how I viewed my faith growing up, I can truly see that Jesus is characterized as a parent. The ultimate parent of everyone. Like our biological parents, Jesus teaches us right from wrong and why, and has room to be funny and lighthearted while watching us grow.

The bear hug has given me joy every time I watch it! I want to give that same hug to Jesus in heaven!

When John baptized Jesus, the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus in the form of a dove. Since Jesus is "filled" with the Holy Spirit, he would exhibit all of the fruits of the spirit, one of which is joy....so The Chosen absolutely nailed it by giving Jesus joy and happiness. The best scene of the first 3 seasons is when they all jumped in the river with the woman with the flow. Incredible.

Yeah, I really do like this scene as well. All the deciples were like young kids. They are all adults but this scene shows their childlike attitudes towards each other. Most of all the fun of being in the water. Playing higgy back. Splashing water, diving into it a lot of fun. Very cool. Thanks for THE CHOSEN, CREWS AND CASTS ALIKE, and everyone else involved. @@favourpeter9386personally for me while I have gone to church and listened to the scripture I have always had a hard time connecting to it mainly due to how the Bible is written so it is nice having something that can give a different perspective. I give a lot of credit to people who do seem to be able to push past that, just realize there are a lot of people who struggle with that. Just to give some context I also have struggled with Shakespeare, Mark Twain and other secular books that have odd wording- I frequently seek out sources that have an easier to read interpretation so this isn’t just that the Bible alone is a issue.

When you think about it, he’s not like us WE’RE LIKE HIM, We love because he first loved us, we were made in his image, and this makes complete sense.

Hah! Every scene is so awesome. When people criticize The Chosen and say things like "you shouldn't pay attention to anything that isn't the Bible or said in church, etc", well, after a couple of decades of not even opening my Bible, The Chosen has made me start reading it. Now I read it every day. I'm more interested in it than ever before, and I'm inspired to serve God in all things I do.

That was the whole point. People that always connected to scripture or were devote Christians beforehand dont seem to understand that there are people (like me) who struggle to connect to the Bible. I always believed but I just couldn’t connect. Having something that puts those missing pieces together helps so much. Of course I know it isn’t a perfectly accurate telling of the story but it adds clarity and depth to those stories

Beginning of season 2 they have Andrew as the one that says he might be afraid of ghosts. End of season 3, he’s the first one in the boat to yell “ghost”! in fear. That’s some good writing :)

I sincerely cried when I saw that scene for the first time. I cry EVERYTIME I see that scene to be honest. His child like enthusiasm. The surprise of him finding out. The goodness conveyed throughout the entire scene. It renews my faith and a fire stirs in my spirit.

When my day comes, I too hope to run to Yeshua, with tears of JOY streaming down my face, and bear hug him.

Of all the things I love about this show, and there are many, portraying Jesus with a sense of humor is at the top of my list. This is precisely the person I had in my head all these years reading the gospels. Think of it - little children flocked to Jesus, rulers and peasants were equally comfortable approaching him, the “sons of thunder” - there are so many hints in the Gospels of this being an integral part of Jesus’ personality. It took a team who really understood the Gospels, and the person they portray, to bring this to life. Thank you.

"Though art Peter and on this rock I shall build my church." Not only did he make jokes, he made PUNS. I have my issues with some of the writing in this show, but overall, I'm very pleased with the human Jesus they show us. Not that it's the first time. Victor Garber in Godspell (the only Jew to play the role that I know of) is literally a clown. But that's not an attempt to show the historical Jesus, in his own time. They are going to make mistakes (we won't all agree on what those mistakes are). But we should enjoy this while we have it. And learn from it.

The thing that really annoys me about "The Passion of Christ" directed by Mel Gibson; is that it's trying to garner sympathy with use of visceral violence. I've seen 50 years worth of "slasher movies" I've seen aliens eat people inside out, outside in, saw a person zip open at the middle into a tooth monster and swallow another person whole. This isn't the age of sympathizing with his death, it's the age of sympathizing with his life. I hope Angel Studios does cover the Passion in full brutal detail, but I hope it spends a lot of time focusing on the feelings of vengeful rage and hopeless depression the apostles were probably feeling.

@@jamescheddar4896 With the Passion, there are two serious dangers, both of which were fully realized with Gibson's torture-porn. One is that people are actually getting off on the torture. The other is anti-semitism. Which is a pretty perverse way to respond to the death of a man who went to the cross a passionately observant Jew, whose followers were almost entirely Jewish. Jesus said love those who persecute you, do good to those who hate you. It's really had. Very few have ever lived up to those words. But if this is to succeed, the effort must be made to show that there is no other way to honor his memory than to follow his teachings. He was not about hate. He was not about vengeance. And he probably meant for the crucifixion to happen. I'm very curious to see how Judas' betrayal is dealt with. There are those who theorize Jesus put him up to it. I don't know they'll go that far, but....

@@christopherlyons5900 It looks like they're going with the theory that Judas assumed Jesus could not be killed. Like he belittled his own betrayal thinking it wasn't as bad because Jesus could easily destroy the Romans if needed.

I've always said this, but Jesus is 100% human, and 100% divine, which means he must have made some of the best jokes ever said. No one can seriously say that a group of 13 guys having dinner together wouldn't joke around.

As a young girl I always thought Jesus was this way. The Chosen brought joy to my heart because this is the Jesus I always knew. 💖

I think the best part about this is that humor doesn’t have to tear people down. The humor in this show is just… silly and yet genuinely funny. It’s simple, doesn’t try too hard, it’s very hard to explain, but you know what it’s like.

I too use to picture Jesus as a serious man until The Passion of Christ and now Chosen. With the latter being way more effective on me. Ultimately causing me to consider just how human Jesus was while being God. And realizing his interactions were much more deeper than healing people, and giving profound words of wisdom. He was absolutely nuanced. And seeing that on Chosen broke me in a very good way.

Without a doubt, your depiction of Jesus' full humanity with a wonderful sense of humor has drawn people to The Chosen. Our historical focus on Christ's divinity has forgotten that human piece, that connection to our own humanity, the reason God came down to Earth and sacrificed Himself for our sins, Immanu El. The script writers and Jonathan Roumie's acting have brought a "version" of Jesus to the masses that has and will continue to draw many more people to the Lord. All those associated with The Chosen are living out The Great Commission. Well done!

Jesus always had a sense of humor. What sets this series apart from other bible based shows is the fact that you guys recognized this. Usually other series treat Jesus like some monotone serious guy, and, not to offend their work, but... It gets boring. Your portrayal however? It's not only biblically accurate, but it keeps my attention. It keeps me drawn to the screen. I end up laughing as well, that's how great The Chosen is! Keep up the good work.

​@@cw9719 There was a passage where Jesus likened a rich man trying to enter heaven like a person trying to enter his camel through the Needle's Gate (not the eye of the needle. That translation removes the humor part). The camel literally has to lower its head, kneel awkwardly, and pass through a very thin and narrow gate while carrying tons of loads. Only a fool would even use a gate only made for people as a camel entrance, but the sarcasm is there.

I always think of how Jesus named James and John "sons of thunder" in the Bible. Now, he HAD to have had a really good sense of humor when he did that!! He was making fun of what they had said earlier, about calling down such things on their enemies! He had a very good sense of humor and it is there to see right in the scriptures.

My favorite was season 2 when the priest said, “ if he was meant to be healed God would’ve done it himself!” And Jesus responded, “ interesting point!” I legit had to pause to finish laughing.

I had a great depression in my life. It was getting to the point where I felt like I couldn't get off my bed. But the Lord delivered me from depression. He can do that for you too. Just believe in him. I was so happy the min he did it. I was so happy that I began to dance in my bedroom. I laughed and smiled and I hadn't felt that kind of joy before. It was wonderful!! The Lord can do that for you too. Just believe and call out to him. He loves you so very much. There are no words that I can express to tell you how much He loves you. Just call out to him even though your tears he can hear you and will help you. Just as He helped me . May the Lord bless you with joy. God bless you

I loved every scene in this video. Naturally, Jesus wouldn't be fazed by any haunted rooms! Most Hollywood films of the 1950's/1960's (and the stiff acting) depicted Jesus as cold and aloof like a statue. In childhood, I was taught my religion in a strict, disciplinary way, so sadly, a judgmental and distant Being was the way I perceived Jesus. But The Chosen series has got to be the most spot-on portrayal of Our Lord. I hope The Chosen brings the hearts of millions more people like me closer to God.

Its not just jesus but many of the main cast and characters are 3 dimensional people i mean real people. Not wooden characters that are bland. And yes the chosen portrayed jesus the best than any christian movies have.

Please tell me the scripture that says God is a God of humor? I find no Humor in the bible. Certainly not from God. He is a God of vengeance, but a loving God and sent us Jesus because we could not live up to His laws. There is no humor there.

Many people will probably say that Jesus was nothing but serious and strict during His 33 years of ministry, but being able to visually see this other side of how Jesus is interacting with people is just heartwarming. It shows that Jesus is just like us. Thank you for incorporating these Jesus jokes. We seriously want more!

The Haunted Room scene was and still is my favorite. Makes me wonder if Jesus Himself really did say that. It's scenes like this one that make me look at Jesus as more relatable, than just knowing He's the Son of God. Jesus really was 100 percent man, and 100 percent God.

All these humourous moments were done with respect and light-heartedness, that shows Jesus' love for the disciples, his eema, and those kids, like family. I loved watching those scenes, as well as the profound teaching moments of Jesus.

The idea that Jesus would be like a solemn monk, all sombre and serious all the time, is silly. He is the Lord of joy and happiness. He invented laughter. He made us with minds that appreciate humor and wit.

Ooohh how much I'd love to give Jesus a big bear hug, for all the good He's done to me!

Its amazing how Jesus dances with the people, He is God but He sure knows how to have fun with us! Praise Jesus!

❤Guys the bible tells us more people go too hell than heaven if you live in sin and don't repent you won't be saved and god doesn't send people to hell if they go too hell they go of free choice! I stayed strong BC after so long of trying to go to anything else but god they all failed me so I held on to god as the reason let me skip to now and say I started off faithless now I'm so faithful in god I started off worried for my future now I know its something gods gonna handle I'm not feeling depressed anymore the whole year of 2022 was hard but with god I made it threw! Now I learned so much and love my relationship with god I know he loves and cares for me AND HE LOVES AND CARES FOR YOU TOO! Joy is one of fruits of holy spirit. Humour makes us happy and joyful.

I love that this show takes what we've read in the Bible and shows us a more understandable relatable view of it. I've read the stories plenty and though I generally understood, this really brought the stories alive and I absolutely love it. It's an amazing way to share the word that everyone can embrace and understand and I just love love love it. And I'm patiently waiting to see season 4!!!

I love the Barnaby scene... And the way Jesus with his back turned was waiting for Barnaby to realize he had been healed!!! So amazing!

It is like when we have our kids, we don’t show them our sense of humor in the same way we show our spouse because they either find it odd or lose a measure of respect etc. But i know for sure that god’s humor will be fully manifested, understood and embraced once we get our glorified bodies!

This show really makes Jesus such a warm and friendly presence. I love it! I want to be a friend of Jesus!

I love this portrayal of Jesus. People always picture Jesus as only a perfectly holy, godlike and mannered individual, and he is that. However, Jesus was also a human being, born from human parents, and raised in a human society. Jesus, even though at a young age preached, did other things that kids did back then. Jesus went through adolescence and puberty. He made jokes and had a sense of humor, we even see this when he made fun of two of his disciples, who at that time were teens, calling them "Sons of Thunder!" He, in their eyes, was just a normal dude. Not many people consider this and its cool to think about

no one can tell me that Jesus wasn't one of the most down to earth, funniest humans ever in the world. This is the best religious show I've ever watched

Man I can't stop imagining our Lord Jesus actually spent such moments, it makes me smile❤. This series has so amazingly revealed such things, it's so mesmerizing.

My favorite part is 5:05 where he is like "where is Jesus?" and Jesus is just like 🙋🏻‍♂️ I love it 😂♥️ and at 5:24 about the haunted room "oooh I'll take that one" I love the paranormal he is so me 😂

Strange, I never pictured Jesus dancing, but now I can see that he would have. It's obvious that Our Lord has a sense of humor, he made us.

My favorites: He's having dinner and makes his joke about getting robbed on the highway, "Too soon?" He just cast out the demon, and he says, "I'll save you time, you're both Simon."

It makes me really happy to think about Jesus laughing at a joke and dancing around, things I hope everyone does at least once a day.m We mostly hear of him either preaching or suffering, both being enormous weights to have on one’s shoulders, and tend to forget this human side of him who not only experienced sadness and pain but also joy and love

Exactly!! We need to remember he was so much more than a divine figure. It’s one thing to say he’s human like the Bible does and it’s another thing to show it in examples like are and shows like this do. He’s both human and divine and we need to understand both to connect to Jesus.

Actually the scene that made me laugh was the argument in the Decapolis scene when people who saw Jesus healing the crippled man suddenly went blank and just sat down in silence😂😂
