The holes on the back of the case are for ventilation so it doesn’t overheat and get too hot, especially since the design of the case keeps it insulated on all sides.

I literally in same situation as you were.. I ordered white smart folio and then found about this case, been debating to order it and return smart folio back to apple. I might get Zugu case straight away. Thank you for encouraging to change my mind and get better protection for my upcoming iPad!

I went with the speck balance folio case for my iPad Pro. It’s a bit slimmer than this and has a magnetic flap over the camera to protect it too.

I got this case a week ago after researching everything available. I love it! It feels very secure without being overly heavy or bulky. Offers more viewing angles than any case I've seen. I pair it with a Logitech Keys to Go keyboard, and it is perfect! I have easy access to a keyboard but am not saddled with one all the time as with the leading keyboard cases.

Does it have that sleep/ wake when opened feature? Does the pencil charge while it’s in the case? Or am I forced to put the pencil in that pocket when the case is closed?

@@prymeight Yes, the sleep wake feature is there I believe. And yes, the pencil will charge on the side of the ipad like normal even when it's in the case. The pencil slot on the back of it is just for convenience.

Does it sit flat when the cover is folded back? Wondering if the Apple Pencil holder in the back will hinder it from folding flat? I will be using my iPad Air mostly for note taking.

Love the case, just wish they would change the design so you can store the Apple Pencil inside so when the top closes the Pencil is inside and not in the pouch on the back which prevents it from sitting flush. Minor design flaw that they should fix...IMO.

Does this work with tempered protectors?

Good video! I just received a zugu case and everything works perfectly except the molding imperfection on the edges of the case that really bugs me a lot. Just to remind you guys those sharp edges can be a bit annoying when it scratches your skin.

Your nitpick points are spot on. I've had this case for 1 day, and find the same flaws. It's a good case, but not perfect. It's heavy too. Great quality though, it feels premium, and I will keep mine. But yeh, I think dust from the side which sits on table, will definitely end up on the screen. This is its biggest flaw, which some people won't like. I would like to see a version of this case, where the flap that closes on screen is not the same one facing down on my dirty coffee table!

Okay I need some answers but cannot find a video on my issue! I brought a similar case to the one you displayed that brings lots of stain. Well when I took off my case today (one that brings stains) I’ve noticed my iPad has a stain around the camera ?! I’ve tried alcohol to remove it but it does not remove. Now I’m questioning if the case did this or my iPad naturally has this “stain” like around my camera lol. Someone pls help.

The holes/slots on the back are to help keep the iPad cooler

My guess is the horizontal slits in the case are for heat dissipation. Great review!

I received my new beautiful copper case. It's high quality and worth the price!

I run an automotive repair business and use iPads for digital inspections as well as mobile estimates, invoicing, etc. Anyway, outside of the otter case (which has a crappy kick stand, doesn't work well with screen protectors, and pretty much makes the pencil useless) there was no other case out there that could withstand a shop environment. That is, until I saw this video, and decided to give this one a shot. It has been about a month, and I love it!

I've always wanted to sketch on my iPad mounted on the fridge.

Got the new 11” pro on order. As the thickness of the new iPad is slightly deeper, previous generations of this case won’t fit. Waiting for Zugu to make the new cases available for order, hopefully we don’t have to wait long.

I got zugu case and it's giving me pairing issue.

I had a Zugu case. The problem is the “base” of it means you need a lot of space to place it on a table. So I don’t think I’ll do ZUGU ever again.

I have 3 iPads and have boughten a lot of cases. I bought this Zugu case and it’s been the best case I have. Absolutely love this case which I bought for my iPad 7.

I too own this case and it has been fabulous. It adds a bit of weight, but it well worth it to be able to use the iPad at so many angles. It even works very well in bed.

No, Sadly you can’t use your ipad in Portrait mode with this case.

I have this iPad 12.9 cover. It is wonderful and fully functional. Love it! My only complaint is the magnet to hold it on the refrigerator is not strong enough magnet and my large iPad slides down. You will never be sorry to buy this product.

Does the cover stick the the back when with the magnets when you want to hold the ipad? Or do you have to hold it so it doesnt swing around? **UPDATE** I’ve purchased this case and it really is perfect from an artist standpoint. Regarding my question, the cover flap can magnetically attach to the back but takes a little moving around to find the magnet, not an issue at all. Great overall case, worth the $

美流羽Miruha just now seeing this, the borders aren’t bothersome, but I could see that being more noticeable if you prefer drawing in portrait mode. If youre using it on a desk with the magnet stand its not a problem.

Unfortunately, it doesn't allow for portrait orientation.

I wanted to buy this but as someone pointed out on another review the microfibre inner cover picks up dirt (when you use the cover as a stand) then transfers that dirt to the screen, unless you constantly clean the dirt off the microfibre. Not a huge deal but has anyone had any practical experience with this issue?

Haven’t had problems with my Zugu case of similar design, on my gen 1 12.9”. Been about four years now!

So the soft material on the inside front cover (when closed) will be directly on the surface (e.g., plane tray table) when it is flipped open?

Another reviewer said their is a lip around the front inside edge so that the cover does not actually touch the screen when it’s closed. Still, not the best design though, but otherwise it’s a fantastic case. ✌🏻🙂✌🏻

No you cant

No offense but I've got a couple suggestions. If you don't have an Apple pen and are worried about the flimsiness of the side pen charging area rubber, stick a pencil or something similarly sized there to offer some additional rigidity. Also, I'm surprised that you were checking the fine print on the "Liger"' emblem but then said thee number displayed was a "24" when clearly it's a "27". I like the case and am ordering one. Thanks for the more in depth review

This seems to be a good alternative for the more expensive apple case, however nothing will make me switch to this case. I use the the magic keyboard ( and yes i know it’s quite expensive but very much worth it) and i have been loving it for the past 1 week i have had it. Great video ;D

No, it won't workl with a grip As the cuttings for apple pencil is very precise and tight..

This is without a doubt the best case for iPad Pro. Just pair it up with the new touch pad and magic keyboard. Job done!!!👍🏾

If u have dbrand... Get a transparent back case and get the UAG protective shell/sleeve

No. But there is a new version coming out in June 30th for the new ipad 12.9 pro 2021.

Can it be used with tempered glass screen protector? Not use if the rim of the case goes to much into the screen.

With one concern I have, will such strong magnet damage my SSD in my bag or even affect the memory storage in the iPad?

Nope.. because the magnets are present beyond one normal(unmagnetic) layer😅, so the magnet can't go thru the screen.

Very slightly but I’d say no for the most part

I’m planning on buying this case or at least I’m 90% sure that I don’t own a Gen two pencil as I never used my Gen one: so I will just put either a stylist or a pencil in there - I don’t want to put a pen in case it leaks. But that will prevent that little bit of not so much flimsiness. But you know what I mean.

What about taking pictures with the case on?

I’m looking for a case for my 12.9 2020 model iPad pro. I’m after a full job protection - preferably with a built-in screen protector. I did buy one which was a V series case: I think it may be a good case although I did have to add my own screen protection. But as I’m legally blind and have difficulty in some respects with my fingers - mainly in terms of installing this sort of tricky stuff. I unfortunately asked the wrong person to install it - and they did a really bad job. I’ve since watched heaps/found heaps of KZread videos on how to install it. I have attempted to fix where they went wrong which was having some of the rubber underneath outside hard plastic bent (who could do that)! so if you know of any cases that offer 360° protection - unlike a folio case, but also offer a kickstand. Your suggestions would be gratefully appreciated! Have a great day :-)

I wish the company was better though, they curate all their reviews and questions on their website. I asked multiple questions and never got a response from them. Was waiting for the colors that they said were coming in late May/early June. It’d now July and they haven’t said anything and haven’t responded to why they’re not putting out colors. Not even a new estimate, they were 2 months late to putting out an iPad case. And even at the end of June they said they were still trying to fulfill preorders...preorders were back in April and it was released in May. Amazon has 2 day shipping on the black one so the excuse that they’re trying to fulfill preorders doesn’t make sense if Amazon is currently selling them.

Forgot to mention that when your iPad is sitting on a table, the closing side that touches the glass of the iPad will also be exposed to the table or anything you set the iPad on. Not a big deal but make sure the table you set it on is clean.

Nope, it doesn't. The 2020 version of ipad is lot stronger than 2018

This KZreadr is a genius! There is no way how one could have guessed that may be the cut out holes in the back have something to do with letting heat to escape.... no way

That is the number 27 my dude.

Best case out there...anything else is a waste of money!
