Bought a couple of these last year. Watched Demolition Ranch do a torture test on them. Absolutely hardcore plates at a great price point.

As long as the plates are NIJ CERTIFIED, they’re good to go. Key word is CERTIFIED, not “tested to NIJ standards” or any other BS verbiage. Don’t rely on KZreadrs’ body armor tests…

@@ritterbruder212 good point! I noticed some companies have tested and certified. Guard Dog body armor says tested, I contacted them to get clarification and they said they would send me a certificate which I thought was sketchy, that should be posted for all to see. I ended up getting RMA 1155's instead as they are certified and the certificate is posted on their website.

M855 against steel you got backwards. Steel is good at stopping even M855 at speed, but steel has a hard time stopping the M193 you used first

I got a few of these last year. They’re freak’n heavy (8+ lbs each). Got some AR500 III+ plates w/ spall coat, but am gonna get more costly & much lighter IV’s.

Can you do a review on IWA international level 3+ plates? I was gifted them and im kinda sketched about using them seeing i can find no reviews on them what so ever

704, did you have any chance at looking at the latest vortex 5x prism? lighter then the PA 5x, but optics quality? Sturdiness?

Even with ceramic, you still have ceramic bits flying off the plate, but generally those fragments are not traveling at the speed the bullet was going.

Ceramic is designed to keep all the shrapnel in the plate.

@@BuffRANGE the military ceramic armour we use while deployed works very similar to this armor being tested. There is no spalling like a steel plate. Most of the ceramic material captures the bullet. And ceramic material that comes back out the hole is minimal.

@@mikesimpson6757 yep but there still can be some. The carrier will catch it but there’s still a chance. But those bits are no where near as fast as the jacket and lead splashing off steel.

That has massive blackface deformation. The curve is going the opposite way now. 🤣 That 308 shot probably would have been like a pro boxer punching you in the diaphragm. Still looks great for the price. Might grab one to add to my 3+ lightweight steel plates...

Wish you hit it with a 30-06 AP round to test their claim. I bet the bulge would kill you still. But good video. I might get some. Right now I have the LAPG non certified level 4 which others have tested with 30-06

These plates are NIJ certified, and have testing reports on their website. You would be hurt, but not dead. Also there are PLENTY of youtube videos of people shooting this plate with 30-06m2ap.
