Hey Edward, I'm having difficulties choosing a headphone my problem is I currently use oneodio studio 10 pro the best recommendation on Amazon. Not the best in my opinion but I also don't have any more cash to spend any suggestions should I try changing the ear pads? Since that's my only issue but I can't find replacements from the 50mm drivers as in no cushions I've tried fits it ... any ideas?
I’d go for the Shure headphones 🙏🏾

I wish they did a minor update to the 7506s with a detachable cable thats the biggest reason im iffy about buying a new pair after my first broke. Im actually suprised you didnt add the DT240s to this list

I am thinking about buying headphones to listen to music from my computer and work. I spend 4-10 hours a day at the computer. Have you had a chance to compare Mackie MC-60BT vs Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 headphones? Or maybe some other suggestion ? I have a DAC Audiotrac Prodigy Clube BE V1.
Hi Edward! In your comparison of headphones, the m40x and the sennheiser 280 pro, you said that m40x is better, but in this top you put the sennheiser above them. So which headphones are better?
Hii man:) what do you think of beyerdynamic dt 240 pro? And which headphone in this round up is great for vocal tracking specially?:D
@EdwardSmithMusic
2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, if you are looking to go for Beyerdynamic headphones, don't go for anything less than the DT 770 Pro. You might have to save a little longer, but those headphones are miles better than any of the headphones in this video.
Picked up a pair Vogek dj headphones they are 20. (I caught a sale) and rival all the studio headphones I've listened to might be something to look into it
What do you think of Audio-Technica ATH-M50xDS Closed-Back Studio for guitar recording?
Just got the Sennheiser HD 280 Pros. My use for headphone is practicing piano exercises on a digital keyboard. I would prefer not to use phones at all, but I live in an apartment and I have to think about neighbors. My level right now is intermediate beginner. The Sennheiser HD 280 Pros are acoustically fantastic but for me they are overdoing it. They are, as reported, heavy and tight. I don't relish the idea of spending the next several years with them on my head for at least a half an hour a day. That's why I'm back here looking for something else. This may be a shock, but while waiting for my Sennheisers to show up, I plugged my dollar store ear buds into my Roland FP-30X and, surprise, they worked pretty well and responded over the whole range of the keyboard. My advice, if any, is to pay attention to the in-depth reviews. The defect of the Sennheiser is, as reported, very strong and perhaps amplified bass response. On the piano, you rarely get down that low but I am not sure how faithfully they are reproducing the sample sounds of the low range in balance with midrange sample sounds. Considering my purpose, which is to not bother the neighbors, I am thinking I should just get some good earbuds and stop right there. I know they won't weigh on my head and they don't isolate you as much. If you're doing mixing and studio work, you have to deal with the conditions and possible discomforts that come with it. Not for daily keyboard practice. You don't sign on to unnecessary discomforts if you don't have to.
criminally underwatched! - another great vid

Would you like to try Austria audio Hi X15? It sounds cool especially for vocal recording or tracking instruments.
@MashifyLV
2 жыл бұрын
I got the Hi X25s, which are the wireless version of the X15. The hinge snapped after 36 days. Same fate as my AKGs had years ago, where the middle snapped after 6 months of use. I would never EVER recommend anything AKG or Austrian Audio (supposed to be the same engineers), the plastic they use is CRAP! My 30pound chinese headphones were miles more reliable! So, if you bought the Austrian Audio recently - be on alert!
@hironanase20122012

@@MashifyLV just don’t compare wireless and wire headphones. Those wireless system totally affected the original performance of a headphones. Some years ago I got two pairs of Sony headphones in a same model but one of them is wireless. The wireless one is worse than the wired so I throw the wireless one to rubbish bin 🤣 For a budget option you may try Hi X15 with a good headphones preamp such as apogee groove. For those headphones in this video I had triad in different studios. They are not bad but I feel Hi X15 got a better frequency response and a bit flatter EQ curve. If you like the vocal is much louder and sharper, Sony one is better.😊
@MashifyLV
2 жыл бұрын
@@hironanase20122012 I see what you are saying, but I am not comparing the performance. I am pointing out the physical design flaws, which I imagine are present in both X15s as they were in the X25s. Seeing how the plastic is just as bad as the AKGs years ago (those were wired btw), I don't see them changing the physical rigidity one bit for the wireless model from the wired one. Also, I was extra careful with them, because I still had the trauma from AKGs in the back of my head.
As a bassis I can assure you that Sony mdr 7506 definitely do have low end. Moreover 7506 is my favorite pair of headphones for playing bass.
Are the connectors all 6.35mm? I notice the detachable cables have a 3.5mm for the headphone end. Would these work fine if I used a 3rd party audio cable with both ends in 3.5? I don't have any studio equipment, just a laptop with a standard headphone jack.
I got a steelseries arctis 3, it has a decent mic and the same range as the audio Technica M30X ... I just happened to notice it while I was tryiing sonarworks SoundID software... It bootstraps your sound driver to pre-EQ your sound output so that your curves are optimised for monitoring and standardized practices... The graph eq plot was the same on the two models.

No. I own arctis headphones and they are absolutely unsuitable for mixing in any way. For anyone reading, do not fall for this.
Unless you sell you music with a pair of HD 280 Pro, you should use the Sony classic crisp sound.
Hey, Edward. Just so you know, you have a very high frequency that transmits out through your video. It actually shifts people who watch it, into a higher vibration. 👌

Yeah my pair of M40X snapped at the hinges after maybe 1,5 years of use too. I was really disappointed to see that the hinge design is completely made of rather thin looking plastic when the headband frame was made of metal. Now they are held together with 3 zip ties on either side. Another thing is that the are pads are mounted on there so tight that whenever I want to take them off for cleaning I'm terrified that I'm gonna rip the headphones into pieces. I'm leaning towards the Sennheiser 280 Pro or Sony MDR-7506 for my next headphones.
