Best Handling Sports Car? We Drive a 2014 Porsche Cayman!

The Porsche 911 has long been regarded as one of the best handling sports cars of all time. Recently, those accolades have been applied to the smaller Porsche coupe, the Cayman. We took out a 2014 model with the base 2.7L engine and PDK gearbox through the roads of East Texas to see what this chassis was all about…and it did not disappoint.
We believe this is the perfect car to drive daily, pack a few small bags for a weekend getaway in the mountains, and hit the road. Being the "entry level" Porsche means it is relatively affordable. The fact that this is a seven-year-old car with nearly 60,000 miles on it that essentially felt brand new inside speaks to how this car holds up over time. Sure, the previous owner wrapped it and put on a loud exhaust, but the bones of this car are still spectacular.

This is Porsche's REAL sports car - mid-engine and just 2800 pounds and all! The 911 is fine, but unless you get a high-end racing version, it's really a GT with its extra size, weight, and back seat. I'd have to have the manual in the base car (I just picked up a 2014 in 'S' trim), but the Cayman and Boxster are absolutely fantastic driving sports cars in ANY trim level, and are also easy to use as daily drivers. They're damn fine cruisers too, with their Porsche/Audi bank vault solid build and feel and refined, quiet highway manners. This one looks great in that wrap and those wheels 🤩
Wow that the base model ? I thought only the cayman S got a wing ?
Wonder if the frunk is spacious and if I could daily it.

I daily mine. it can fit four paper grocery bags in the frunk side by side or a fairly large cooler, more stuff in the rear and on the engine deck lid.
