I actually think it was better that you displayed the cryptic variation you did. It serves to demonstrate the realities of how hacking is done. Social engineering first, then sequence simple substitutions. It reinforces Jack's reference to "script kitties".

@@davidbombal Ya know, its people like you, and Jack, and Alyssa Knight, and Greer, etc... that have really put the lightning in a bottle and when those roads intersect in interviews like this its a really good listen. I only wish these things had existed when I started out! ;)
I started listening to his podcast when I became a cybersecurity student... it helped alot that he explains the technical terms in such detail... so yes, the fact that he is an outstanding technical communicator made me a big fan.. Now I can't wait for episodes to come out. Amazing fortunate series of events, Congratulations.

David, what a great topic. I, literally had never before a couple months ago ever subscribed to a podcast, and I can't remember exactly where I first heard of Darknet Diaries but when I did I stopped what I was doing and immediately looked it up and was enthralled by 3 episodes in a row. I absolutely LOVE this guy's podcasts so what an amazing surprise to have him on your channel. Your channel happens to be one of my top two channels I watch for cyber security/hacking content. Top Notch!!
Darknet has brought back all my childhood memories. Holy. I was a script kiddie back in 1994, I've had my hands on just about everything and was an IRC kid. This is all what got me into computers which is how I'm able to take care of myself now and for the rest of my life. I'm so happy with the level of knowledge I have obtained and have some crazy stories of my own. Thanks for bringing back so many wonderful memories, those were some of the best times of my life.
David always comes with amazing video. Thank you so much sir ❤

There since the beginning with DarkNet. Jack's mood setting ability is a masterclass every time.
This was an amazing conversation and great listen. Thanks for having Jack on.
Passed my CCNA exam on Monday ! (May 30th) Wanted to email you to say thank you but I couldn't find any email so I just thought I'd leave this here. Absolutely over the moon to be able to say this and I made sure to reference you after the exam in the study material questions! Thank you David for making this one huge step in my life so straight forward and simple ! Cant wait to dive straight into Security + as cyber security is where my main interest is. Thank you David for your awesome content and well worth while Udemy courses.

Just when I was wondering if there was a good cyber security podcast that I could listen to. You deliver once again!
My two favorite channels collaborating. This is absolutely amazing
I really appreciate your hard-work David. Thank you for everything.
Oh man this was an incredible video. Such a great dynamic between you guys.
good episode, thanks for introducing me to this guy. David you should consider turning a lot of your videos into podcasts as they are very informative and would well on the audio only medium.
I listen to this weekly. Used to be daily when I drove to work. Love it
Thanks David, I've been hooked on Darknet Diaries since I first came across them. I think there were around 25 episodes at the time. I try to keep up to date with you guys, but there's just not enough hours in the day. You, Jack, John Hammond, network ☕️ Chuck etc. I've been in the game since '89 and 90% is all self taught, from token ring, novell, networking of the early days to images on the internet. E-commerce websites, to data cubes and lakes. Analysis and design process to spending a few years in the bush mapping telecommunications grids and equipment. Studying ethical hacking and running my own business, hosting sites for basically free, running a small MSP for clients who think that we should be able to just look at the files on a system and know if they've been hacked or not. And now this new ms-msdk zero day is quite scary stuff.

So good episode! So much pleasure to watch and listen to! Thank you, David! It's inspiring. As usually though...
It was weird to go through the intro sounds of darknet diaries on your channel as I just finished one of his podcast and turned to your video then it was like the continuum of darknet diaries... Thank you for bring him on. Wherever he goes leave some of his wisdom behind in that interview. Like he talked about some books to follow when he was at Pauls. Cool dude! Would be so wonderful one day if I could shake his hand and say thank you Jack!
Keep up the excellent work on your youtube channels, David! Appreciate the content you give us.
I literally listened to every single episode and new episodes within hours of release. Great production, amazing storytelling truly unrivalled
