I fully agree with this statement David - "Learn programming to accomplish a goal". I took C++ classes and it didn't stick. But, creating scripts to mess with computers, that's super fun and I learned things because I wanted to do more fun things.

Awesome. Right when the alarm bells were ringing in the infosec twitter world, i was reading through and ended up following for almost 2 weeks all the work and leads into the reverse engineering. As well as the casualties. Malwaretch ended up being at the center of it. I probably ended up on his blog because of his real time honeypot map. Nice interview David. Definitely inspiring to hear all your guests.

Hi Dave your content on You Tube looks tempting to watch. Gonna subscribe!
I wish people would realize that ethical hacking is akin to the fire drills we did as children in school. Another way to see it is the drills law enforcement does to be prepared for scenarios in the real world. Just because some people learn and have the ability to do malicious things doesn’t mean they use it for malicious reasons. Thanks for these videos David we need the word to be spread that not all hackers are criminal.
Wow David... You're guest selection is just becoming better and better. You are becoming like daily show for Hackers and alike.
I'm just getting into learning coding, this is so interesting. Thank you for making these videos. I don't know what path I'll take, but the world of coding, programming, IT, cybersecurity, all of it is so huge, it's like a brand new world! Thank you for educating all of us💕😊
Cool! This is the 1st time I've seen Marcus. You said what needs to be said. Answer questions for yourself and put your answers out there. If you love cybersecurity, networking, coding or whatever it is, do it the best you can whether anyone is watching or not. There is no one way or time in which to do it.
Thank you David for sharing this content. I appreciate how you always bring amazing cast to host with you. Also to mention, love the way you ask the right questions. This skill is invaluable to have and every content you bring we learn something new.

On the hacking becoming mainstream and general audience topic. I completely agree with you both, if 25% (huge over shot, no way the percentage is actually this large) viewers WOULD use content like yours maliciously, then about half of that 25% would be gaining new knowledge. This information is already readily available for anyone that wants it and has the proper knowledge to implement any of it. For the rest of us, we are here mostly to stay aware and decently secure.
Wonderful guest, David! Marcus’s philosophy on learning and his world view are interesting. Srinivasa Ramanujan did not have a Mathematics degree. Still he is a Mathematical genius. A person does not have to get a degree to have useful ideas of innovation and problem solving. I particularly like Marcus’s statement: “The rising tide lifts all boats”. This is a profound statement that is a signature of a genius.
Learnt a lot from Markus's tweets on cybersecurity. Long form content is niche, but it is a niche I would definitely watch from you.
Great content, always nice to see your videos David. Keep up the good work

I'm working towards a CS degree with a focus in cybersecurity so I have some networking and coding knowledge, I also know my way around the Linux terminal. I also only have 1 year left before I graduate. I'm wondering what book would be better "Black Hat Python", "The pentester blueprint" or "getting started at becoming a master hacker"
Really excited to try this feature out! Amazing

There are other platforms now that are not suppressing freedom of expression, or education in any form. If others get tired of toeing the line of these platforms and change, they will eventually modify/loosen them (consumer power). Just a thought. I love your content and others that are just trying to educate the end-user on Cybersecurity. Keep it up! :)
Great content as always David. Can you please do a video on how to find admin panel of any website?
Dont underestimate legacy programming...there are way too many organizations that run the line of EOL/EOS on both hardware and software. One of the biggest examples of this in particular is Healthcare. In 2018 I had a client still running a financial database from 1988. Remember upgrades and extensions of BOTH software and hardware come from budgets, sometimes department budgets and not from the IT side. At the enterprise level majority of vendors will not support client software if it is EOS or sometimes even if the hardware does not meet system requirements aka outdated hardware. The end result is that both need to be updated. That not only is a major hit for expenses but is also a deciding factor to push it further down the todo list. This leaves the door wide open for opportunities.
Surprise and surprise again always amaze us ❤️

Hi david, I hope you doing well. I have a question about CEH. If you wanna pursue a career in CEH with no experience but you have started learning leaning linux essentials at Cisco academy course and you are going to take the LPI linux essential exam after understanding kali which other step would you recommend someone with no experience to take e.g networking, programming and understanding nmap, wireshark, burp suite etc because in CEH you have to understand all this and take them step by step right ! I also want to learn LPIC-1 as Linux administrator

I think the quote from Jack was something about "dont try to impress wizards", can't find it anymore
Since you worked/work in the cybersecurity industry and you mentioned it. What are your thoughts on Tik Tok being a data collection tool used by the PLA?
I think the best way to learn indeed is to walk the path. Then you’ll come to know the path. My only concern is when someone is doing it without understanding. (I call it ‘fake it till you make it’ approach.) I’ve seen it sometimes and it can be very dangerous. If the person at that point forgets to carry on learning. When I do something new I try to measure up how good it is, how can I possibly break it or improve it. In other words, it’s important not to get overly confident in the knowledge. At least, in my experience.
I'll never forget your support and kindness explaining all the procedures involved. Thanks dude🙏

Marcus is so intelligent and sees the most powerful people don't really know crap and get their power and money off the backs off regular hard working people and then act like they're better than those very people making them the power and money.
The short documentary on him is good. The registered domain for wannacry took it down. People wanted to bury him over his past but he clearly wasn't doing anything or being malicious. To me, he's a hero.

@@Lucy-dk5cz right? It was the Bob Ross mantra of "happy little accidents." There have been on-going efforts to DDOS the domain to unleash wannacry back into the world. It baffles me that someone or anyone at all would want to do that. Equally baffling is that those who clearly are talented that create such destructive payloads don't use those skills for the greater good of humanity. Though, I suspect that some do during the day but then moonlight as a vigilante hacker.

I can absolutely agree with the point about university python courses. I had a similar experience during my engineering degree. It was just learning from a pdf that had been purposely obfuscated or just like copy pasted and not formatted at all. The key information was compressed into pages and pages of block test with no paragraph breaks. Essentially I just learned what I know from blogs and KZread.
