Legion 5 2022 is my personal pic, and it got my favorite Ghibli movie as wallpaper too lol

I have an older Nitro 5 and I can tell you straight off it's money well spent. You get a lot of room for upgrades and it has two massive fans and 4 vents not to mention the air vents on the bottom side. Then they have Nitro Sense where you can customise fan speed. Love the red and black trim.

I also have a Nitro 5 from 2019. I use it for video editing and it is fast. Battery life is fine, but when on battery the keyboard is not lit unless in use during power saving mode. It does light once a key is touched. Speakers are average, especially compared to my 2012 Samsung 17" laptop with JBL and built in subwoofer. Acer make good laptops. I got my brother a Nitro 5 17" gaming laptop with RTX 3060 and Core i7 from Laptops Direct last year. That is under £1000 from them.

I bought my son an MSI Katana GF66 last Christmas. He absolutely loves it, great specs (i7 11800H, RTX 3060, 16GB RAM 512GB storage) and he gets fantastic frame rates. Added a 1TB Samsung external SSD to store his games and he's really happy - highly recommended at £900 from Scan computers here in the UK

Anyone no where to get the Lenovo from I can't seem to find it anywhere for less than £1150 with the same spec?

i have 17” Legion 5 but with r5 5600 and rtx3060. I love the design and that the most ports are on the back. It built very nice, nothing is scratching, its very strudy etc. ….but Chris, how its last about 5 hours on the battery? Are you using it on Hybrid mode with integrated GPU? My 17” has bigger battery but its going down very quickly just in my eyes! 1,5h movie & 50% battery gone O_o

I got the exact same laptop and can confirm it's no where near 5 hours. I think it might be because the 17" screen uses more power than a 15.6" but the gap shouldn't be that huge

What are you using it for ? If you're gaming or content creating on battery you might as well plug it back. Cuz L5 wasn't made to move around it's more of a desktop replacement.

I spent £3300 UK pounds on a Asus Rog strix scar 2022 laptop lol 12900h 14 core 20 thread 2x2tb gen 4 ssds 64gb ddr5 ram at 4800mh 3080ti 16gb vram gddr6 1440p at 240hz . And I play command and conquer on it only lol

I'm all for gaming this, and gaming that, so when gaming robot vacuum cleaner for my gaming room? It's got to have RGB and capable of picking up uneaten food, and nav around several days of dirty crockery and empty junk food packets without chewing up the brush.

Is ray tracing enabled on any of these 3060 fps tests??.... ie actual RTX laptop testing ?......or is it turned off in the settings? If so isn't the GTX laptops a much better (cheaper) option if the RTX 3060 laptops can't cut the mustard with ray tracing enabled. Mr spurt.... The Lenovo laptop looks really good

Acer Nitro 5 has great price-to-spec ratio but it tends to heat up pretty badly. I love the Lenovo Legion 5's design thou, would love to own it someday

Thanks for this review. I am currently in the market for a gaming laptop and trying not to spend over £700-800. This is the only review of the Medion Eraser I can find. It looks really nice. Also the Gigabyte G5 looks extremely nice and capable. Which would you say is the better of the 2?

I had the acer for 2 years. And I wouldn't get it again, the screen broke from opening and closing because its poor quality.

@liamgeddes1173 I really do not recommend it, I sent it back for a refund. It blue screened on my the first day, speakers are the worst I have even heard on a laptop. And it's thermals where insanely high and extremely noisy. I do not recommend it. Also the keyboard RGB is actually only 7 colours in total and really minimal software that offers no useful functionality

If you haven't already, go for the MSI better GPU and bigger power limit since it can handle games better. 4 GB RTX 3050 is not good for future proofing.

Lol now u have to stop and ✋️ till new laptop comes out however under 1000$ yeah expect to find killer deals as 4000 rtx series start to ship 3000rtx will be slashed in prices so u could be getting even more for less . 😉 at least one good thing about innovation 💡 aye!

You can find a Ideapad Gaming 3 from last year with a RTX 3060 (80W-90W) for about €900. It performs like a Legion 5 with RTX 2060 that has higher TDP. The drawbacks are small battery and poor quality screen. I'd pick the Legion 5 over it even if it has RTX 2060 but sadly that laptop has become quite rare at a reasonable price in many EU countries. The G5 KD is a great bang for the buck, I was looking at that one as well recently, the screen is not the best but you can find that laptop for hundreds less than other RTX 3060 laptops, and not all of them have better screen, build quality or performance to justify the price increase

@@kyron42 Cyberpower tracer III Eluktronics Mag-15 Gigabyte AORUS 17X MSI GT75VR Titan Pro Alienware x15/17 (probably closest to the standard with cherry's) Asus s17 Ect There should also be good deals coming soon (some already although they'll get better to a point) considering all the miners are are shafted along with all the new tech coming (and black Friday ect) so if you can wait you'll likely save a good amount on the gouged higher ends, although if you can take a backpack ect then I'd definitely recommend a separate mechanical keyboard as it'll make your options so much wider and prices, deals, weight ect far more accessible, either way be sure to research any and all thoroughly to find which if any you prefer and good luck.

A laptop has been about the only way of getting hold of a 30 series card at anywhere near a reasonable price. No wonder Nvidia are trying to clear the shelves of their old stock on the same day they announce a new series of cards no one will be able to buy. Hopefully the crypto crash will have changed the availability issues, we shall see.

All of them are pretty good, except for the one with a 3050TI, an 1660 TI is way better than that, choose that or a 3060.
