This week, in episode 14 of Couple Things with Shawn and Andrew, we sit down with some of our best friends & fellow Nashvillians, Mallory Ervin & Kyle Dimeola. Mallory & I go way back, I was one of her judges at a Miss America pageant actually. Turns out, we were just meant to be best friends when we ran into each other at a local Michael’s store (where else would we be?). Kyle and Mallory walk us through their love story, how they met, what happened when they faced obstacles in their relationship, and how it’s kept their relationship so strong today. One of the more interesting parts to hear is how they dealt with a breakup in their relationship. They give some great advice. Guys, to see the love between these two is so special and we were so thankful to have them join us. Wait until you hear them just gushing about each other in this episode. I have watched so many of y'alls videos! I am 67 and been through all these couple issues and still going through couple issues after 44 yrs! The arguments video really helped me. We have argued soooo much and it has bothered me forever. Thanks for saying arguments are good. I'm the quieter one and have learned to take up for myself, and boy have I! You all are cute, sweet.
Are y'all perfect or what? So very enlightened at your ages. Really, in the middle of the day to day chaos of life you are able to see so clear? Great job!

This was hands down my very favorite episode. What humble, intelligent, lovely people the Ervins are! (haha, j/k Kyle-). Truly such a beautiful friendship! i am absolutely taken with Shawn and Andrew's channel, and delighted with this podcast- these guests' characters truly shine the brightest of all I've seen on the podcast thus far. Ok, I literally, for the first 25 minutes of the show, thought Kyle owned a BALLET business! (As a dancer, I suppose that’s what I tune into.) but I was like “nobody really calls us a ballet business. Was he a director?” Even funnier when he started talking about how it started out of his childhood bedroom, and how it grew to about 80 “ballets” and I’m like “holy Montana, that’s impossible!” Then I realized by the next sentence that he was talking about VALET!!! 😂 🤦🏼♀️

I LOVE the fact that Mallory hasn't changed her last name! I got married and didn't take my husband's last name and don't plan on ever taking it. My last name means so much to me, I can trace it back many generations to Italy and it's unique (especially in a county where everyone is connected to one of 10 names). But I do know this is going to be a big issue when we have kids because I really want them to have my last name, not his (and I don't like hyphenating).

They said in their last podcast that this was supposed to be up before now but they filmed another one instead. So this isn't filmed today. Give them a little more credit, they are following the rules! That's the beauty of uploading videos they can be filmed anytime and uploaded whenever you want. :)
