You're wrong about Heart being huge in the early 80s. They had Bebe le Strange (1980), which didn't go platinum, only gold. Their albums Private Audition (1982) and Passionworks (1983) didn't even go gold. Their poor sales resulted in them being dropped from their record label.

Just think about the physical dynamics of singing, and how effortless Ann makes it seem. When she sings the line, "...my love the pleasure's mine...", and Takes.a.Bow....👀😮 The folded torso compresses the diaphragm...yet she STILL belts it smoothly and powerfully. Amazing. #Meow

My favorite live performance by Heart. Huge stage, outside, perfect atmosphere, fresh breeze in their faces, blowing their hair backwards, dark stage with only Nancy illuminated for her signature Silver Wheels, looking so cool, so hot, cavalierly casting her pick aside, crouching down like something big is going to happen, then kicking out and rushing forward, going totally wild as she is still alone and starts the opening strums of Crazy on you, and then the whole band joins in, seeming to come out of nowhere as the stage is illuminated. And that's just how it starts! I'm not going to deny, Nancy's sexy stage presence and theatrics are my favorite part. But, it's all good, so good!

That woman sure can sing, that's just fantastic live. No auto-tune and just 1970s technology. And yeah Nancy could totally rock. I remember when this Dreamboat Annie album came out and I went and bought it and it was one of the few albums that my younger sister and I both really like equally. One of the others being Hair of the Dog by Nazareth. But at any rate, I learned the acoustic guitar solo at the beginning which leads right into Crazy On You, and it was so fun to play once I figured it out. But I had never seen this particular clip before and she lengthens it by at least a minute or two with a lot of cool extra stuff in the middle. And then I love how she leads into the main song, she's just so fierce, laugh.

I was privileged to be able to hear Ann sing the Star Spangled Banner, acapella, and I was standing on the rail of the winners circle and Ann was standing in the middle of the winners circle. One additional comment - regarding the title of your reaction ... I would say that Ann is not just the best female rock vocalist .... but in general, one of the BEST rock vocalist, male or female.

This is "almost" as good as when I saw them in late 77 or early 78 Little Queen tour in Portland Oregon. The radio version of this song is much shorter, when Nancy starts playing the first minute of the song nobody made a sound, we had absolutely no idea what was coming in a few seconds. When the familiar part starts EVERYBODY starts screaming as loud as they can. One of the key moments in one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

Fave Heart song right here. Could be my fave song period. Vocals, guitars, lyrics, nearly perfect. Seductive yet rocks. Had countless good times with this song in the background.

Ann Wilson is a powerhouse to this day. The Wilson sisters have harmonies that rival any family band I can think of.

Yes indeed the sisters Wilson, Ann and Nancy did write Crazy on You! The song as I remember is about being so into someone that you forget the outside world while you're in the bedroom and otherwise engaged....😘

Heart did write this song and many others in the 70s and early 80s but the record company in the mid 80s wanted outside writers to write guaranteed hits for radio and MTV.

Another great live Heart performance would be their ccover of Led Zeppelin's Battle Of Evermore 2003 Alive in Seattle tour in particular. It showcases both sisters voices and since you did Zep's version already, this is a no brainer 😉

to grow up in the 60s and 70s as kids and teen agers while listening to all the great songs come out one right after the other with no break and no END IN SIGHT was like being in heaven but the heaven didn't last for ever... and at 60 and 40 years after, i dont think the music will ever die because it lives on in every passing new generation that loves music as much as the generations that came before them and etc...

I saw Nancy do Barracuda with Pink on lead vocals last Sept in L.A. Her playing is unreal. And…my father dated a woman in the late 70s/early 80s who every called Ann’s twin. Man, she was beautiful. They kind of woman no one could take their eyes off of. She was killed when I was 7. I’ve never forgotten her. 😇
