I recently got a blue ridge hunter and it is such a fantastic knife. I think it might be my favorite knife in my collection. Haven’t stopped edcing it since I got it

As for price, the Winkler Belt knife can be had for $350 USD if you get plain maple or plain micarta slabs while the Blue Ridge Hunter goes for $325 USD. When you consider that the sheath would go for probably $150 as a stand alone purchase, $350 for the knife ($325 for the BRH) and the sheath is a VERY good deal. IMHO the Belt Knife is easily worth $275-300 on its own. Regarding the steel, 80CEV2 is a great choice for an EDC/bushcraft/hard use/tactical knife. This steel will not rust if you just give it a bit of basic care - clean the blase after use and wipe each side of the blade with a cloth that has some oil on it. The Caswell coating will protect the blade from corrosion/rust; the shiny, sharpened edge is the only part of the blade that you need to care for. Quality never comes at a bargain basement price. Winklers are VERY high quality, both the knife and the sheath. Better to have one high quality knife than to have ten basic quality knives.

Great info. My favorite knife is my Winkler Crusher Belt knife. That has to be a great EDC. Keep up the good work.

Kind of fond of the benchmade saddle mountain skinner myself , smaller knife , great for deer , pigs n rabbit , lightweight and only 3mm thick , take a larger camp knife for rough tasks and a saw your set 👍

Benchmade makes a good blade. Obviously everyone will have their own preference based on their own needs etc. I hope to get some Benchmade fixed blades on the channel in the future.

Check out Tkell knives. They make amazing knives if you can get one.

I have it with the G10 Camo handle. I love the blade but wish they offered other sheath options. I find the standard sheath not ideal for edc use, it is too big for my liking.

You should show thickness behind the edge by cutting something that would actually be affected by the thickness like cardboard or heavy rubber

No doubt that would be a good test but you guys wouldn't be able to see the difference through a material like that, paper is so fragile that you can easily see the difference. same as cutting a tomato for example. you can see the difference vs me just saying oh this one was harder.

I would love to have one but they are priced to where only people with a lot of money can afford one. That’s why I love Tops Knives there are priced for the working man. And they don’t tag on an extra hundred for their name.

Tops makes a good blade for sure. If you save up you may find that after a while you have enough for a winkler.

I own both Tops and Winkler. I love them both. But they are different that’s for sure. Tops is more commercially available. Winkler on the other hand has low availability. The cost is higher. But since the lead times can be months. I’ve paid the extra price. On the other hand I could get 2 tops knives for the price of 1 winkler.

If the world went to hell, id take this. If i needed a knife to cut, it would be my absolute last pick. Love the look though. That price is rough too though. Case has a new fixed blade with this classic style. Havent seen many reviews yet.

I'm a big fan of the Bradford Gaurdian 3.2 in magnacut. The redesigned finger choil is a major safety improvement over the 3.
