Best Dumble Pedal 2020 NuX Steel Singer

Музыка

Best Dumble Pedal 2020 NuX Steel Singer. The brand new Reissue Series from NuX has some surprises in it for sure, but the Steel Singer has to be one of the most exciting ones I've seen. This is an emulation of the much revered Dumble Steel String Singer boutique guitar amp in a compact and sturdy pedal. They even copied the font from the original amp. It's sweet indeed.

This is going to be a hard pedal to put down for sure. Enjoy!

Just some friendly criticism: Many people looking to buy a pedal that emulates the dumble sss tone, seeks SRV lenny type and john mayer gravity type tones. And many people who are looking into that type of tones, want to see how the pedal reacts with a clean fendery blackface type amp, and a strat with low output vintage style single coils, at low gain settings in the pedal. It would have been much better if you would have used a strat and a blackface amp to demo this pedal.

Mayher? lol But SRV, Hendrix, Duane Allman etc.. yes That is the market for this pedal, there was none of it in the video, no fault of the CP, maybe he'll put out another video addressing that 'base' tone. I ordered this earlier today, we'll see how it stacks up. There is another video on this pedal, it sounded pretty good.

I have this pedal and for this kind of money it is crazy good however on the lowest gain setting there is still too much gain in my opinion. It reacts good with the volume knob of the guitar. I'm gonna replace it with a CTC Unobtanium for more control from the Dumble sounds on my bigger pedalboard. It has another pricetag though. I'll keep the Nux for a smaller travel friendly pedalboard. The Nux shines with single coils. Good review

I got one. And did a side-by-side with my other ODs. IT IS NOT A DUMBLE PEDAL! Turns out this guy is mostly in the tube screamer realm (tonally - it may have a different circuit topology). It sounds NOTHING AT ALL LIKE MY TWO DUMBLE PEDALS (Joyo TaiChi and Tomsline Dumbler). The Vertex pedal it kinda clones wasn't a Dumble pedal either. Marketing bullshit. Sigh... BUT IT IS WORTH THE MONEY, SO READ ON. Its mid-range is a bit higher on the eq scale than a standard TS, much like my MXR Custom Modified Badass OD with its 'mids' button engaged. The Steel Singer has a bit more low-mids/upper-lows than a standard TS, so it growls a bit more, but basically has the same bass freq cut off. What makes it stand out is the gain knob is smooth. Noon on the SS is like 10 o'clock on the MXR and my standard TS. So it's easier to hone in on the right amount of low-gain. Also, it's less fizzy, so it has a bit more clarity. And it's a bit less compressed, so it feels a tad more 'open'. I suspect they used a different set of diodes in the clipping section than is standard. All-in-all, it's good and does what you'd want a TS to do. Nice lush OD for chord work, but great mid-honk for solos. Given the subtle differences I've detailed above, it may be a better fit for some amps than a standard TS.

100% a rip off. But to be fair, the vertex steel string is also a rip off of the mu-amp circuit with some added eq controls. And Mason also literally bought another builders wah pedal, took out the circuit board and just rehoused them in his wah pedal casing and sold them for like 150% markup back in the day. So, this kinda looks like karma.

And, 2) whenever he rips off a design he makes a video about how it took years of R&D to create from scratch. The Rig Doctor sells snake oil bro. Though I did by a nyle pedal :)
