BEST DRIFT CAR PACK with BEST SOUND for Assetto Corsa 2022 | Want to see me drift?

Ойындар

Hello and welcome back to the tribe,
Drifting is controlled chaos where a driver initiates a controlled slide and uses his skills in car control through a designated course. Most of us like drifting because it is simply cool to watch a car sliding and it reflects a feeling of being on the edge of control. It requires true car-craft, right setup and driving skills.
My fellow tribesmen in todays video I am going to put myself in the open with my disgraceful drifting skills and will showcase you a drift car pack. This for me was the best drifting experience ever in Assetto Corsa; from looks, to physics and to sounds. Oh the sounds... These 9 drift cars are by far the best sounding drift cars ever made for Assetto Corsa, if not the best sounding cars all around. Who made the sounds? Of course the great Scibsound.

    ACDFR is one of many unrealistic car packs for drifting. If you don't believe me you can easily check the data on their cars for yourself. Apparently an E30 BMW is 4.8 meters long, if you were to go by ACDFRs data.. For reference thats roughly the length of a Toyota JZX100.. They do this purposely so that the cars transition very slow and thus, greatly reducing the risk of the car "snapping" and over rotating on transition due to poor throttle control. A lot of people fall into this trap where they think a car pack is realistic when they find it easy to drift and anything that they can't drift, they just write off as "unrealistic" without understanding what that actually means and not realizing that drifting is a skill, that requires more than just counter steering and putting your foot down. The only reason im saying any of this is because this video spreads misinformation about "realistic" physics in Assetto Corsa.

    Hello Daniel, thanks for the comment. You are most probably right for everything you wrote and I respect every word of what you wrote. But this video is all about personal opinion. This was for me the best experience, because I can't drift normally. I am not into drifting. I am not good at keeping drift angles in sims. I don't have any other drift car packs, so this video is 100% biased. From a total noob point of view. I also keep my wheel at 540 degrees while drifting, I am such a noob. But there is one reality, I as a noob had fun while using these cars, even though they might be garbage or may be easy to drift. I don't praise the physics of the cars in the video, I just mention that it was the best experience for ME, from physics too sounds, that was it. I hold my right to like thrash physics. Thank god these packs are not paid, I am glad I don't put paid content reviews up. That would be such a stress... Please don't take this video neither personal nor too seriously. I am prepared to review any other cars you would share with me. Take care!

    @@SIMTRIBE Sorry i may have misinterpreted the point of your video in that case. I just got the impression from the video that you were saying that, objectively there is no better car pack out there for drifting. That was my only point of contention, if its simply about having fun and nothing else than thats completely fine. I'm not one of those people who are against people using cars with unrealistic physics. it's just that i know a lot of people drift in AC with the hopes of doing it IRL one day and i would rather them be well informed on whats realistic and what isn't, so that those skills can actually transfer to real life as smoothly as possible, but again if you're playing for nothing more than a good time than feel free to disregard everything i've said.

  • @SIMTRIBE

    Daniel all fine. No need to be sorry my friend, come on, everything you have said in that regard is most probably correct. Frankly, I am an automotive engineer for 15 years and dare I say nobody can feel and/or interpret the complete physics of a car only through FFB capable steering wheel in the sim :) Steering wheel gives you input what the car is doing and you see on the screen what the car is doing, that's all. You need your whole body, espescially your bottom to feel the roll and yaw of the car under you. Of course you can see to some extent and judge a cars physics if they are not snapping for example when they have a very short wheel base or don't understeer with big engines in front. And if you havent driven a car in real life you lack the reference of how it should feel and then you start interpreting and debating how that car could feel in real life and how it feels in the sim. You start generalizing and can only interpret according to your theoretical knowledge how a fron heavy or short wheelbase car would feel, but nowadays everything can be tuned differently and to feel all these nuances you need a 6DOF sim rig and experience in the real lif car. What I want to say basically is nobody can be right and also everbody is right :) And I am with you on that 100%, one must take everything with a pinch of salt what they experience through their single FFB sim and think "oh this is how it should feel in real life, let's go 180 kmh through this hairpin and I'll hold the slide, It will be fun". Daniel, I am happy that you brought it up and thanks. Have lot's of fun. Don't forget to send me links for realistic drifters! Discord: SIMTRIBE#2635

    This smacks a bit of gatekeeping to me. People play at the level they're accustomed to. Besides which, while the ACDFR cars are slightly more forgiving than some cars, in some ways they're harder. There's less opportunity to alter your drift angle once you've initiated it for example, whereas other, twitchier and gripper drift packs are more responsive and malleable. You're stating an opinion, not facts.

  • @transient442

    @transient442

    Жыл бұрын

    @@thesprawl2361 "People play at the level they're accustomed to" All your doing by learning on ACDFR is cementing bad habits into your driving style which you will have to unlearn in the long run if you ever plan on actually driving a real car, so why start with bad physics in the first place.. "There's less opportunity to alter your drift angle" ? that makes it easier because everything is slowed down and you don't have to rely on technique to balance the car, because its essentially holding itself in drift with all the inertia that you're carrying. You can be as sloppy as you want with your throttle control because the cars wheelbase will allow for it, just like all the other arcade drift game out there. "You're stating an opinion" Nope, the data is purposely inaccurate. That's not an opinion, that is a fact.
