I'm noticing that not a single persons riding a drop through board. They're all top mounted decks. Anyone have insight into this?? I'm trying to educate myself

First, top mount is the most popular type of board, and is what most people learn on. The majority of those people never bother trying anything else. Second, top mount is probably the best overall choice for this type of hill, due to its superior traction/carving/handling ability. Drop through and drop down boards are great for stability on fast downhill runs, but require lots of sliding if you have tight turns, because they don't turn as well. heelsidechill.com/top-mount-vs-drop-through-vs-drop-down/
