I inherited an assortment of D3-D5 All-clad from my grandmother. After restoring them they have performed better than any pans I've used in 20 years of cooking in commercial kitchens.

Bought a 13 piece set of all clad from Costco about 4 years ago, the best pans to use. Can throw them in the oven/broiler up to 600f°, which most home ovens only hit 550 so they can never get messed up. Stainless some really good crust on steaks. Never have to worry about Teflon flakes going into food either. They hold an annual sale every year. They're also pretty light compared to any cast iron pans. Also tomatoes/acid food will not leach an iron taste into food using stainless

In about 1996 I bought a set of All-Clad 5-ply pans, it was three sauce pans with lids, a 12" skillet with lid, and a couple other general purpose pans that are great for cooking pasta and casseroles. After nearly 30 years they are still like new, and we use them all the time. You can't go wrong with quality stainless cookware. I do love me some cast iron and enamel coated cast iron too.

If you’re tight on money but don’t want to sacrifice quality, I also always recommend learning the features that signify quality, maybe some good brands, and checking out the thrift store!! There’s a lot of low quality stuff but you’d be surprised what you can find! I have two vintage copper bottom revere ware pots that I found (and after I cleaned them up) I absolutely love them

I've bought a couple of five ply stainless steel pans for less than $15 each. One was an All-Clad D5 and the other was a Cutco. I thought Cutco only made knives, but the pan is decent.

I have a set of Revere ware stainless steel pans with copper bottoms. Most of these pans are over 30 years old. I bought one by one at the thrift store for around $6 each. Cleaned up nicely with Bar Keeper Cleanser. These work horse pans are like the old Timex watches. They take alickin" but still keep ticking".

Get a used Griswold cast iron pan off of Ebay. Just make sure they say the pan is not warped. If you get a good pan, it will be your favorite cast iron pan and much better overall than Lodge. You can also sand down the Lodge pans to make the surface much smoother, but it is a pain to do. I used a rotary sander with a corse grit to remove some of the surface of the Lodge frying pan I have. It is better, but still not a smooth as the Griswold.

I bought a set of inexpensive stainless cookware, once. ONCE, because they have lasted that long. Well.....until I got old abd broken and need caregivers that is. Now I have one pan that is discolored and a few of them have been thrown away because I couldn't get anyone to clean them. That hurt my soul. I've replaced them with cheap non stick pans.

Please help. I’ve owned my Saladmaster T304-S tri-clad stainless steel “waterless” cookware set for over 40 years. We recently bought an induction stove. Since my Saladmaster set is made of stainless steel, I expected no issues using it on the new stove. To my shock, the 11” skillet doesn’t work on induction. Every other piece of the set works fine, so why doesn’t the skillet (which is supposedly made of the same stainless steel) work on induction too?

See? ..I like the stargazer as an all around great skillet..field is light, great skillets..nothing wrong with Lodge, a great workhorse..can’t really say which is better..use the right tool for the right job. Stargazer is a multitasker. If I were to buy 1 only, ide get either Butterpat, or stargazer. If you need light, lodge blacklock, or field
