It can be a really tricky fix, but what I do sometimes is adjust the video speed to something very slight, like 101% speed or 99.7% speed until it fits the closest with the audio. Hope thst helps.

    Yeah i had the same problem with editing HDR or 10-bit footage in Adobe Premiere Pro. But so far I found DaVinci Resolve can handle and view it pretty well. It's something to do with the metadata or how the editor translates the hdr info. Even if ur screen is not HDR you still benefit from the footage with less color banding (e.g. smoother gradient in the skies)

  • @AlexKongMX

    Hey RJ! I have a few questions I really hope you could answer, I would thank you very much man! So, you shoot with m-Log 80 gamma, but what color space do you use? Do you adjust any of the mLog 80% settings? Are those for preview or do they actually affect the final output? Also, what are the implications of shooting in HDR or HDR10? Do you ever use a LUT Preview? If so which one? What EOTF and Color Primaries do you use? What is the deblocking filter? Thank you so much man!

  • @RJBaculo

    @RJBaculo

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Alex, just to answer some of your questions... When I shoot with mLog80 gamma, usually my color space is regular sRGB/Rec.709 but moving forward I'm gonna be shooting more with the S-Gamut. And no I dont adjust any of the Mlog settings, I just leave as is, but yes they do affect the actual logarhythmic curve in the final output. The implications of shooting HDR (10-bit color) is you have much much more color info available in your video (which equals to less color banding when theres gradients in your shot like in the sky). I dont generally use preview LUTs, but can be handy to use to make sure you aren't too over or underexposed when shooting Log. EOTF and color primaries, I believe, is metadata for how your HDR footage is to be interpreted in your NLE software. I leave it as is. As for deblocking filter, I'm not too familiar with its function but has something to do about smoothing out edges. I probably wouldnt recommend it. Hope all this helps. Best way of course to learn is to try and experiment yourself! Happy shooting!

    if I'm shooting a basketball game, what fps and shutter settings would you use? my phone is just standing on a tripod which captures the entire court

  • @RJBaculo

    @RJBaculo

    Жыл бұрын

    Regular 24fps with 1/50 shutter should be fine, especially if the venue is low on lighting. But if there is ample light or better yet shooting outdoors you can shoot in 60fps and at least 1/120 shutter so you can get slow-motion footage in post if you wanted to. Also feel free to crank up the shutter even more (1/250+) to get even more crispier movements which is suited for sports or action sequences. Think gritty Jason Bourne movies or war films like Saving Private Ryan. Its really more of a stylistic choice. Hope that helps! :)

    So if I'm shooting an action fight sequence, what fps and shutter settings would you use?

  • @RJBaculo

    @RJBaculo

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you don't plan on doing any slow-mo during your fight sequence, stick to 24fps and then experiment with faster shutter speeds like 1/120, 1/240, or even 1/480 and beyond to see if you like the crispiness of the movements. Just keep in mind the more faster the shutter is, the less light is coming in, so you'll have to compensate with additional or stronger lighting. If you're shooting in broad daylight, it might not be a problem at all. Hope that helps. Experiment & have fun with it 👍

    Hey Theodore, on my S10 (Exynos) the max framerate i could get is 60fps with FHD, and only 30fps with 4K. When i would set 60fps with 4K the sensor just wont allow it. In terms of bitrate I'm able to set it on full 500mbps w/o any dropped frames, although when i look into the metadata of the video file the true number is 408mbps for 4K footage and 374mbps with FHD footage. I'm sure this varies and isn't an absolutely fixed bitrate. I hope that helps!

  • @theodoreivanov6257

    Yes, this helps me a lot. I am in the process of deciding on a new phone and the video side is of course essential. Even 408 mbps and 30fps are nothing short of amazing. We are talking smartphones here ! Not long ago this was the territory of RED cameras only :-) So it looks like I do not even need to go for the most recent and quite expensive S21 or 22 models. I just found a good deal on a S10+ here in France. I assume it should handle mcpro similarly to your S10 ? Thank you very much.

    where did you enable color depth 10 bit? mine does not have this option, my cell phone is super advanced the zenfone 9

  • @RJBaculo

    @RJBaculo

    9 ай бұрын

    Due to hardware limitations and capabilities, which vary from device to device, there are a few prerequisite settings needed to enable 10-bit video recording. In the Video Recording Settings, first you need to choose a resolution and framerate with GPU disabled. Some smartphones have certain resolution or framerate limitations before 10-bit recording can be enabled. Once you have disabled GPU, you will also need to change your codec to HEVC (h265) which is the proper container for 10-bit video. Now you can change the Color Depth settings to 10 bits instead of 8 bits. If even after all these settings the color depth is still inactive, then most likely your device doesn’t support 10-bit video at all. I hope that helps. I have a dedicated video about shooting in 10-bit video coming up very soon.

  • @MSPACELOG

    @MSPACELOG

    @RJBaculo is definitely a Samsung problem of not allowing full access to camera2 api. Although on S23 Ultra, it allows 4K @60fps. I also have a Samsung S10+ and it's incredible how it works perfectly on 4K @60fps . Also, S10 + has double aperture, which is great. They dropped this feature on S20 series and so on, but it is awesome to have double aperture. Just a pity S10+ has a much smaller sensor than S22 or S23 Ultra and also less mega pixels on main camera. Otherwise, it would give even better shots. Just got to work with more light. For the actual price of it is a good smartphone to stick around. Besides, a smaller sensor, on the other hand, handles much well external lenses to actual smartphones with bigger ones. Old lenses, not developed for today's phones, cause vignette. Gonna start using my wife's S10 plus.

    It's not as user-friendly as Filmic Pro, but it definitely can squeeze a lot more features and flexibility out of the Android camera.

    Unfortunately, I was disappointed in this program.. First, when I installed it and turned it on, I almost went blind (I don’t know why they didn’t warn me about this). Second, I use POCO X3 NFC, I specially filmed it with the program and compared the videos without the program and didn’t notice any difference... Maybe I was doing something wrong?

    You're very bad in color grading man😂🤣 You were talking so much about Log footages so I thought you know color grading.

    Maybe you should provide an example. Or if you're really a pro give him a suggestion. That way your comments will be constructive, and we all get to learn from you knowledge and go away smarter.

    Sorry friend, that this app won't be of much help with your needs. It's a simple enough feature that I think the developers can easily add in a future update.
