Disclaimer : It was very hard to determine who is really "underrated" -- but every character in this video is very commonly undervalued. Even characters who have been on the rise recently, like Xiangling, are usually appreciated but often valued less than other characters (like hu tao/diluc in xiangling's case) which is why I deem these characters greatly underrated. So I included the STRONGEST Underrated Characters (including characters that are considered just "good" instead of "amazing"). Also i asked my theorycrafter friends (basically Zajef77 lol) and they agree that these characters are significantly undervalued & underused by many/most.

There is one thing about Xiangling. They changed EM to not snapshot like other buffs anymore. Edit: this doesn’t apply to amplifying reactions so ignore me

@@jj6148 Wrong. The EM change in 1.4 makes it so that transformative reactions don’t snapshot EM anymore. Amplifying reactions (melt and vape) still snapshot EM, so Xiangling is unaffected by this change.

Don't spam auto attack, hold it and use charge and it will knock them off every time

I main Beidou and I never even noticed that her burst required a lot of energy recharge, because I use her elemental skill so often that it recharges almost instantly

I think its more on the character's kit. For example Noelle, yeah a big sword is cool but having no way to get geo particles is whats limiting her. Barbara has good healing but she suffers the same issue with Noelle (also the hydro applied during her E is annoying). I dont think the tierlist is whats making them underrated, I think its their gameplay design. Some players just dont like their playstyle.

Honestly, the biggest shame about this game is the fact that it's _so hard_ to build up characters that many of our characters end up collecting dust.

Agree, the resources the game give u for free in total are only enough to build maybe 3-4 characters. And that is IF you emty every chess and unlock everything in map and basically play every day for a month. I've played since 1.0 and now I only have around 7-8 characters fully built. And only 4 of them having very good artifact stats. And I play almost every day and done EVERY events in this game. MIHOYO!!???

Barbara and her taser comp (beidou etc) is also lowkey good against rifthounds (enabler that can works around those wolf's broken hitbox+healer at the same time)

@@z7chh213 Nope, Beidou’s Q is her strongest ability, and it makes up for more than half of her damage output. Beidou’s Q at C2, against 2 enemies, has 8040% total damage at 12 discharges at talent level 6. That’s pretty insane, and the reason why it has such a high energy cost is most likely to make it balanced.

I like tall sword wielding Onee-chans. So I've been using Beidou and Jean regardless of their tier placement.

Beidou got me through the entire game. I recently got her fully constellated too but idc what anyone says she's amazing. I use her burst and switch immediately to someone who can quickly attack with normal hits like Barbara or zhongli bc the damage done to everyone is insane. And I use the weapon to get rid of cd on skill

Geo MCs scaling dps wise is so goddamn high as well as their amazing support capability for great characters, anemo MC kinda wished they had. Anemo MC is still a very very nice alternate if you dont have Sucrose, especially because of their C6! Of course everything comes down to what team you use, every character is good. Even Amber with enough investment.

I get that this was commented 3 months ago, but shes not forgotten. She's part of the national team, named for being the most cracked and overpowered 4 stars in the game. Shes a must have in team comps and the abyss, especially with Childe as her enabler. Her damage is insane. She doesnt get overshadowed by Bennet since their both on the same level of characters needed within the teams of Genshin.

Yep that‘s exactly what i was thinking. I‘m still using my og Team from the start of Genshin. Xiangling,Fischl,Keqing and Barbara. Xiang was my main dps, now it‘s keqing but i‘m still very happy with xiang as a Support. I got a Bennett too, but i don‘t like to play him, idk why.

thats true, though it is easier to main one element (i use anemo,c5) but if you wanted an across the board high dps then yea it takes a lot of time and effort to gain artifact sets, talent skill lvl up, and weapon switching so i know what you mean. traveller is good if we're consistent with build too but still hard !!

Fishl is amazing for that aspect too! As long as you have consistent electro application(which Hoyo loves to put in the game), Xiangling is amazing! I'll be honest tho, I don't like many Pyro characters in the game, so it's amazing to have a reliable one I actually like :>

Thank you! Beidou has been my go-to character since I got her early game (I think she was like the 5th character I got after I started playing the game.) I have so much fun playing with her and I think more people need to appreciate her. Kaeya is also another one of my favorite characters.

I feel like Lisa and Noelle are also pretty underrated. They both are really good at combat and Noelle’s shield saved me tons of times. And same as with Kaeya: if Lisa wasn’t a free character from the beginning, there would be the way more people trying to get her and enjoying playing her.

also mihoyo should update the MC, specially when changing the elements, at least they should do a unified leveling in the mc for the f2p players, and not have farming every regions materials

When I first started playing I got Jean from the standard banner while I was wishing for keqing I was sad and I didn’t use her for like a month or so then I remembered this video and tried her out. She s absolutely amazing her healing is a blessing and works wonders in domains. She’s the first character I’ve leveled up to 90 plus her weapon. I’m now a jean main and I somehow think it came from this video.

Beidou is so good. She was my first main and I still favor her for 90% of the content in this game. The parry is the most satisfying ability in the game.

Love to see Jean get some love. I loved trolling Mimi Tomo by Gale Blading / Spartan Kicking him off ledges and insta killing him. It made the tedium of the event actually pretty amusing in the end. Not to mention she has some fighting game shenanigans going on with her big damage wall bounces and insta kill ring outs that don't really require any sort of artifact or weapon optimization, and make it easy to cheese some domains / that one daily commision with the hilichurls practicing kung fu in the water platforms.

i got jean on zhongli rerun and i was really disappointed because i did want zhongli, but i decided to build her because (mostly after watching tuonto) i knew she was a really good character? and oh my god gale blade is super fun + i'm farming friendship exp for her and bennett and their ults combined is so powerful. the pyro swirl from it with the healing and atk bonus is so fun

@Wei Teng (Austin) Wang 511214 if you chose to. But if you intend to get max value you need to lvl up at some point. Also that 5 million mora is for my eula and the 5 star weapon so a 4 star character/weapon probably don't cost as much.

Exactly! It's funny to me that in a strictly PvE game, there's a tier list. Like, people should just enjoy who they enjoy! If you're able to clear stuff, then no sweat who you play.

I love how you mention all the characters I use pretty much love running Rosaria shes absolutely one of my favorite characters in Genshin to use. The only one I haven't used a lot is Beidou because I didnt have her til recently so she's still level 1 cause I'm kinda backlogged on leveling characters.

Me running a Xiao, Jean, Zhongli, Beidou team: 👁️👄👁️ Seriously though, people really exaggerate Xiao and Beidou's energy issues. Yeah, their bursts aren't quite as spammable as say, Zhongli's meteor, but give them a little ER and some thought put into your comp and weapons, and you don't even feel like you're missing anything. Besides, Xiao's autos and dashes hit really hard even when he's out of his ult, and Beidou's counter hits like a truck while also protecting you.

My team is almost the same but instead of beidou its Bennett since u can swap E every few seconds to make energy particles as well as letting my xiao do even more damage against larger enemies that doesn’t get blown away by xiaos plunge attack

@@babyfinesse_ ikr? My Xiao with average artifacts and an R1 Deathmatch hits for ~27k per ult plunge and has his burst available probably 70-80% of the time. People just look at the big energy cost number and think he’s never gonna have his burst, when in actual gameplay, you never really feel that his burst has a high cost. Numbers don’t always reflect how a character actually plays, and I think a lot of people don’t get that.

Not to mention Xiao's AOE plunge is rlly good at generating white particle when he kills enemy. It's one of the reason why more damage = more energy. Plus I maxed out his E first cuz the scaling is so high, usually his one e alone is enough at one shotting small mobs.

Before Xiao came, I had like a full glad set for him coz ye know, ER stuff. Never planned to have a battery on team so I wasn't in a hurry to get those 2 piece VV... But then when he came home and I tried him on abyss. I was like: 👁️👄👁️ coz of how fast I got his ult back. I didn't have time to AA much before I start bursting again.... orz reminds me I need to farm for those VVs.

I would be using them *if the game would stop giving me shit artifacts*

Fxcking true. I see these level 70 characters getting 5 digit damage like theyre nothing while my level 80 Razor can only reach 5 digits on a crit (which is trash, 10k to 22k dmg). Been getting unlucky drops for so long, it's not even funny.

I use Beidou and Barbara as my main DPS. Once you can activate stormbreaker switch to Barbara and she can annihilate big bosses or mobs in seconds! She has an insane rate of fire and with Beidous support her damage increase massively. Due to the rate of fire critical buffs make even more sense.

Beidou was my main for a long time because she’s the first 4 stars I got when I started. I really liked her counter that dealt massive amounts of damage and since I didn’t know much at the time I didn’t care much for her burst recharge time. It’s a pity because since I got Diluc I swapped her, having a 5 stars is just better overall.

I don’t know if I’m trippin but something about the audio quality of this video is just amazing. The your voice over sounds crisp and clean.

Xingling as well! I use Xing as well! My current comp that I'm having a blast with is Kokomi ( new hero, sue me. She is fun) as support, Xing as sub pyro DPS, Beidou as main DPS and the last is a swap for whatever I happen to need. That swap is currently a C6 Xingqing

I'm really happy to see Beidou and Xiangling both getting recognition that they've been needing. I've been using both with their respective batteries(Fischl and Bennett, although Fischl is my main dps) and nobody on the team has an energy problem and they're all able to dish out high amounts of damage over time. Even though none of them ever do big bursts of damage, they're all able to do tons of smaller damage numbers which quickly add up.

I'm glad you mentioned xiao. I hear people talk about him like he's B tier compared to hu tao and the gang. maybe its just because I got super luck with godly artifacts but he is so ridiculously strong

Ah yes, the geo prison combo with geo mc and zhongli. This is nuts even in pre-buff zhongli. It is even better due to the milelith set for strongli.

Interesting, Beidou is one of the first heroes I got from day 1 and my most use hero so I didn't know she was underrated

i downloaded genshin this week and thought i'd watch this to get some tips once i'm able to start pulling other characters but i'm 3 1/2 minutes in and have understood none of this lol back to the beginner guides for me!!! i'll get to this stage eventually

Childe is underrated because most people compare him to Xiao and Ganyu when the more apt comparison would be to Xingqiu. Everyone knows XQ is nutty and Childe is just a XQ that does more dps and has better aoe but needs to be on-field.

@Proxy Secured It's not just that "you can clear" with 4 stars. The National Team, formed only by 4 stars, beats the sustained damage of ANY composition in the game.

Jean fills any role you need her to on your team. For me, she’s main dps + healer which frees up a slot for me to have another dps. She’s godly, especially when you actually pay attention to her and build her. I love her sm!

Don't know if you did this already, but as you mentioned a lot of energy recharge in the video, could you make a video about energy recharge and 'battery pack' and stuffs around this topics? Thank you very much. Really love your content.

As a Childe main, I really love how he can make some underrated characters shine. I specially love Xiangling and Beidou. Xiangling is my first DPS so I'm so happy she's still very relevant end-game

Electro-Charged is seriously my favorite elemental reaction in the game! Even Vape and Melt come second to it (in my eyes).

@@BuetifullPersun not really. depends of the situation. some characters works well with it because of the huge aoe damage but there some characters doesn't work well with it because the knockback can be very annoying. conclusion great for character that wants for get-away-from me situation or huge aoe bust damage.

as a xiangling main I legit fell in love with her skills on her trail play and was dying to get her cause the damage she does is like 🤌✨

Beidou is the first character that I pulled from wish and she's my main. Skills + ult of beidou is super cool and amazing 💜

the fact that he mentioned Kaeya makes me so damn happy.. my underrated man deserves all the love and attention. period.

Personally, if these were the underrated characters; I think it goes to show how little the majority of the player base knows when it comes to forming comps(The importance of Childe's synergy), game tech (like catching particles/cleanse), building characters (ER vs ATK sands), and approaching battle tactics (AOE vs single target). This is not a bad thing per se, this might be more of a need for Mihoyo to sort of guide players in the right direction. Great video, love em as always!

I realized that people who doesnt understand what are childe's role, doesnt understand how to build teams correctly.. Childe is like the no.1 most misunderstood unit for most of the playerbase and also the one with really diversed team comps. understanding how what childe's role is and how his comps work will actually broaden other people's knowledge on teambuilding on this game.

@@nctzeninshineeworld1504 like ur username btw, anyways cleansing is when you get rid of an elemental status on your own character. for example, some domains apply a debuff associated with an element when you start fighting, but you can get rid of the debuff via cleanse. I don't have jean, but if its say, a pyro domain, you can use barbara's skill to apply hydro to your own character, which counteracts the pyro status.

as a beidou main i screamed when she showed up, bc i know people who watch zyox have brains and will realize her true potential

I absolutely LOVE Beidou's parry. It feels so good to cleave a bunch of dudes for insane damage because you timed it right. After you get used to it and can do it consistently she wrecks.

To see beidou as the first character in the video really makes me happy as a beidou main 😻

The first two featured, Beidou and Jean are my faves. Beidou is super broken because her skill alone can wipe out a regular mob. Basically use her to parry and counter and use her Burst on stronger enemies. And Jean does everything. She’s my main DPS. She heals everyone and deals damage at the same time but I haven’t tried giving her a viridescent venerer set.

@Wei Teng (Austin) Wang 511214 There is a misunderstanding about anemo MC, he actually does more damage than Geo MC when you swirl in both skill and burst but the problem is that his skill is always interrupted and his burst doesn't hit the enemies you want because of auto aim.

I love Support Beidou running Sac Greatsword. She can still hit pretty hard alone too. Reseting the shield? Heck ya. I love the mechanic of parry at the exact moment. And I can't fathom using Childe without her. I always wanna use Ganyu on the team too but ill give Fischl a shot instead. I like Jean because I like healers and she is cool, plus I got Aquila. Sadly no constellations.

Hmm i think its just EN server, In CN server people rate xiao pretty high he's 3rd best dps just below ganyu and hu tao. Now every time new dps char came out, cn always compare it to xiao because he is very strong but not broken like the top 2 (fyi eula was rated recently and she is just above xiao)

Perfect counter window is pretty large so if you see enemy raise their weapon just press the button

I have a C6 Xiangling and she's a great character to have in a team. I love Beidou (C3) as well because of her shield and solid DPS

Pulled Xiao, read a few guides and got recommended to build energy recharge. Didn't understand it at the time but I'm glad I listend, his burst is always ready and I am really happy with him!
