not only that but the pride that you get to take in playing someone who is underpowered compared to the rest of the main dps characters (or just characters in general) is amazing. I personally am a Mona main (c0 until around a week ago) and I've 36 starred the abyss at ar 55, I really don't think that you need to play the best character out there, just keep playing who you're playing as long as you're having fun.

@@seemagyan5493 some things that helped mine do good damage was to have a 4-piece noblesse set on Bennett and always pair her with Ayato or Xinqiu. Her damage potential is only reached in a vape team, so you need someone to continually apply hydro to enemies so that each sweep of her pyronado will do double damage. For artifacts, if you have good Crit stats and a pyro boost there's a lot of artifact sets you can get away with.

I've been a Beidou main since i started playing Genshin and even though I know how great she is I didn't expect her to be on this list, I'm glad people are realizing how good of a unit she is. I've loved her since day one and she's such a cool and lovely character, I hope more people can find out about this true hidden gem💜

The nice thing about xiangling is the fact that she’s free and that anyone can get her. Probably the best f2p friendly dps

Great video! I built Xiangling in a childe/xiangling/sucrose/benny team a couple months back and I was super surprised to see how much damage she can do... My xiangling with a blackcliff polearm can vaporize 44ks consistently!

@@peppydogdog12 typical pyro build, 4pc witch. If you have a diluc, just take his artifacts. With the exact same artifacts and lower investment my xiangling performs quite a bit better than diluc, both with bennett and xingqiu supports, xiangling with r5 favonius lance, diluc with r1 serpent spine. Even with a support weapon she performs better. Sad day for my baby boi diluc.

eh imma just come out and disagree, as much as that's "his" opinion, I don't fully think those characters are extremely powerful, I mean well yeah they are, but nearly all the characters are if you put your time into them, any character can be a higher dps, fuck I know for sure keqing nd diluc are, at the end of the day, it comes down on who you want to play as and how you level them up, I've seen far too long from alot of ppl of how you "have" to play a game based on them, play the game your way, not what other ppl tell you

22:32 Another reason why mona is so cracked with Ganyu is the fact that you can keep Mona's 60% DMG buff forever, as long as you keep enemies frozen using Ganyu and Venti. Morgana just works so perfectly that it puts pretty much every other team to shame.

Even if youre main carry isnt here, it doesnt mean theyre bad, no need to be feel bad yall. This video is super informative too and gives a spotlight to underrated characters like beidou

Xiao's potential is so scary. He's able to go toe to toe with top dps in the game without a 4set artifact tailored for him and without any reaction to buff him at all. Not to mention his c6 is the most broken thing ive ever seen.

Not to mention he also can evade-attack-evade which is a huge beneficial for a DPS. His plunging mechanic is the best imo (also i love plunging atk mechanic since i play final fantasy series). Just look at how scary samurai mobs in inazuma, they even can oneshot my ganyu with 15k hp, moving so fast, and lastly they can't be grouped.

I totally agree. I've been playing maybe a month tops so its all new for me.

This is actually the most seemingly accurate/unbiased tier list or ranking I think I've ever seen. I'm too used to seeing all the typical 5-stars at the top and then xiangling and beidou in like b or c tier which just makes no sense. I was at first hesitant to watch this since I've never liked tier lists, but I'm REALLY impressed by this, keep up the amazing work.

i would disagree about beidou over eula. sure beidou works very well against domains with 2 monsters but its not objective that it will always be this case. eula performs very well in almost any fields because she does physical damage. i can see that he didnt invest well enough on a eula comp or just didnt like her playstyle.

If we look at Xiao's "total ult" dps you can hit like 10-14ish slams with like 10-80k your technically doing 800k damage in total at worst if your slamming repeatedly. 1million+ damage if your high investment is kinda crazy (this is more of an example that a exact math)

@@Ryo-jb4zn ?? This is just not true, Xiao actually is somewhat worse than we originally thought. His long burst uptime makes buffing him very difficult (for example, you'll only have half your burst buffed by bennett or TTDS) and extends his rotations quite long since you have to funnel energy to him. In other words, the competitive 15-20 second rotation time that you see on top teams are just not achievable on Xiao. A highly invested Xiao is getting about 40-50k plunge average at best (since so many buffs will simply wear out in the middle) and you can do about 10-11 high plunges in his dps window meaning you'll only see about 400-500k damage per rotation from him. Compare this damage output to Ayaka, who has the benefit of having all her damage consolidated into a 5 second window allowing her to fully benefit from all buffs like TTDS, mona omen, vv shred, etc., and can hit about 500k damage at mid investment in that short time window. Consolidated damage also allows her to run competitive 20 second rotations. Current meta simply requires you to have highly consolidated damage (Ayaka, Hu Tao, Raiden) or snapshottable skills (Xiangling, Beidou, Ganyu in Morgana), in order to take full advantage of time gated buffs like VV shred, bennett ult, noblesse/tenacity, etc.,. If you don't do most of your damage in those two ways there is no way to compete in terms of DPS. And Xiao doesn't fit either category.

@@aerohydra3849 no, a Xiao with moderate investment does around 40-50k per plunge, a highly invested Xiao does about 116k average (at least). As far as I know it's possible to do at least 12 high plunges per burst, but even considering 10 high plunges already gives us a total of 1160000k per rotation. You should have realised by now that he doesn't fit the standard category that other characters do, so trying apply on him the methods you use on other characters and trying to make him fit into a made up cathegory is obviously stupid and not accurate. Besides what you said about Ayaka is just not true. I don't know where you got those numbers from but I can assure you that a mid investment ayaka does about 27k per tick and a total of 250-260k per burst (in fact, some people even call this a high investment Ayaka). A really high investment Ayaka does about 35k per tick and doesn't do more that 600k per burst. She's not that great in terms of dps, specially when compared to Xiao

@@Ryo-jb4zn Oh come on, give me a single Xiao that can do 100k+ average plunge damage over his entire burst duration. I have a Xiao that's highly invested with Jade Spear and double crowned and I'm only getting about 40-50k average plunge at maximum. Zy0x has one of the best Xiaos I've ever seen and he is only getting around 60k plunge without Bennett and 70-80k with (and remember Xiao doesn't get Bennett buff for that long due to how long his burst uptime is, so in reality the average damage will be even lower). This number is BS and you know it. You know how Ayaka's burst works, right? It's 19 ticks + 1 larger tick. So if you do 27k per tick (which I agree is a mid invested ayaka and achievable with amenoma), you're doing 540k per ult. With 35k ticks you're doing 700k per ult. And 40k ticks (which can be achievable with very high investment) that's 800k per ult. And this is all within 5 seconds meaning you have a lot of free time to battery her and do some NA/CA combos within 20 seconds. Whereas Xiao has a burst that alone will last over 18 seconds (due to hitlag) and you have to spend about 6 seconds batterying leading to inflated rotation time (usually around 24-25 seconds at minimum). 1 million damage in 20 seconds is a lot higher DPS than 1 million damage in 25 seconds. Give me a reason why he can't be judged against the same criteria that other DPS characters are judged against. These criteria are like the laws of physics, there's no way to skirt around them and are the reason why certain characters are more meta than others. I agree Xiao doesn't fit the standard DPS design, and that is the reason why he's not that great of a DPS lmao. Let's put it this way, if Xiao was so good as a hypercarry, TC would not be trying teams like NaXiaonal, XiaoDen, Reverse melt Xiao. There's a reason why Raiden Hyper and Ayaka Freeze are so well regarded in TC while Xiao Hyper isn't.

ngl seeing xiangling on this list made me so happy, i wish people didn't overlook her because she's a "sub dps" and a f2p character when both her pyronado and guoba have amazing scaling

people who ignored her just never saw one lvl 90 with good artifacts. i use her with ganyu benny and venti and she does the most dmg even crowned her burst to 13 instead of my eula.

Honestly I was happy to see a couple four stars on here kind of regardless of who they were. That it was Xiangling and Beidou in particular is great because I love both, but it's nice to see some four stars that can hold their own with the best of the five star power creep.

@@deathlordleaa dps (damage per second) is the total damage you can output per duration of the fight while dmg per screenshot is the highest damage done per hit (usually a burst). Hope this helps :3

​@@okloluh Damage per screenshot is important in this case. If you can 1 shot something before anyone else then your dps is higher given the time it takes. Eula is one of those odd cases. Eula's full potential is clearly the highest dps you can get in game. If she can burst anything down in 1 shot then it does not really matter how consistent her dmg is. Not like her auto attack is that bad anyways with higher investment.

Beidou is my all time favourite Genshin character. Honestly even though she's a 4 star she's amazing to play as.

I’ve just always used Diluc as my DPS never felt that I needed to change, and he’s my favourite character and I don’t think I will change I think he’s definitely good enough

I rarely comment on KZread videos and I don't know if you'll see this, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all of the time and effort that you put into your videos. While there are certainly people who might not agree with what you say, I find it commendable that you still do your best to remain objective and explain your reasoning. New regions nee mechanics and more powerful characters , personally I hope mihoyo finds a better way to earn money rather than making characters this hard to get. Cuz I feel at a point the characters are gonna saturate.

i think this is the first time i agree with all the points on Beidou xD. Her strengths and the only weakness of single target which is indeed coverable. And yes as someone with a pretty well built(even if i say so myself) i totally agree her scaling is nutty huge. Doing 20k ticks on bursts is indeed satisfying.

@@nachiketpatil9121 It’s definitely okay. People keep complaining about him loosing HP or has ER issues. This is why supports exist in this game. Whats the point of having 4 slots 😂. They sleep with others issues and when Xiao comes out they woke 😂. The only problem for him is HP going down which can be EASILY fixed by a healer. (Jean, Diona, Etc). Same as Hu Tao’s which her play is very risky (HP in half + Stamina consumer [C0]) which can be fixed by a shielder. But IG this video changed peoples perspective for Xiao (Though I expect another slander, but was shocked he’s at Top 3). Most of the comments here are about Xiao/Xiangling/Beidou also, because this guy has seen their true potential whilst spitting facts. In the end, we should just enjoy the game. 🙂

MY XIAO ER IS 100, until a long journey I can get 115-130 As a high ER I can give to him. Cuz bro, without high ER we can still use his burst over and over by another character element particle as his battery. That not a problem at all XD

Yay for Beidou recognition. Not only is she perennially underrated but she is also mad fun. She was my first character and my only C6 and her counter is still my favourite move in the game tho I usually use her as a sub DPS (typically with Childe)

Childe isn't the main dps of teams that involes him. Most of his teams (fireworks childe, childe xiangling) makes childe the enabler of the off-field dps in the team like Xiangling or Beidou, kind of like an on-field Xingqiu. That's why he isn't on this list.

i love ur take on this, this helped see the game totally differently , if this video was made sooner i woulda probably took xiangling and used her as my second main dps! but oh well it is what it is. and it's so cut ehow you ask peoople not to get mad in the comments

Man, I worked hard to get through floor 3 on the abyss to get Xiangling with my starter team at AR 20 or something lol. It was just SO worth it. At that time, besides the starter team and Barbara, I only had Sucrose and Xiangling, and those two girls rock! Xiangling carried my team so many times before getting my first 5 stars, and she still carries my team in abyss. I am happy with the love she received in this video.

@@cahhenn6821 Generally its players who already have someone like Diluc....an F2P Xiao does 18-25k plunge damage, while a Diluc vaporize comp does more or less similar damage and easier to use due to Xingqiu/Bennett/Sucrose supports....however Xiao can deal damage in a wide radius, in abyss most of the chambers have more than 2 enemies, So Xiao is extremely good in Abyss.

Hey thanks - seriously! You really solved my biggest problem! I was unsure about the 2.3 banner cause I need another DPS but you helped me decide! I'm skipping entirely and gamble on that well known leaker's prediction of Ganyu in 2.4. As well I have invested in Childe/Bennet/Xiangling/Sucrose/Beidou so I always have them to create my second team but I didn't understand Childe/Xiangling/Bennett synergy very well. Hu Tao/Xingqiu/Diona team I'm very satisfied with.

Ah yes, thank you for highlighting Xiangling. I was a Noelle main and just got Xiangling into the team. I was blown away by her fast charge attack and pyronado. And I only leveled her up to Level 10, while Noelle is already on Level 23. I still have Noelle as my main DPS, but sometimes I just let Xiangling takes over. She's really good.

Only because parts of the Genshin fandom are extremely toxic, some people are overdefensive about the characters they love. I think people that follow and watch Zy0x's content are hopefully more level headed on average tho, it seems like the video response was very positive.

Exactly, most of the people who are sensitive are Hu tard mains who can't seem to agree she's MUCHHHHHHH worse than a free 4 star character, they're always full of copium when they say she's the top 3 dps with Xiao and ganyu when it's really Xiao, ganyu and xiangling.

This was a GOOD LIST with a lot of scenario where a character IS better than others! Also you considered all level of investment and teached people how to play different characters to make them insane! I always love your guides and I find them very useful. With this video you absolutely surpassed yourself!

A very informative video, nicely done. As unlikely as it is that you're still checking comments on videos this old, I'd like to ask your thoughts. Objectively, how does a C6 Noelle measure up to these top tier DPS'? We've seen a lot of indirect buffs for her recently with the addition of Yun Jin and Stonethresher, and it seems like high investment Noelle can do a considerable amount of sustainable damage. I'm curious to know your thoughts

I think you did a great job personally. You were very clear about your criteria, and I agree with your sentiments on allot of the choices given that criteria. Anyone would have to change the criteria to change the list. enjoyed the vid!

As a diluc main, I can just uh... swap artifacts. Friendship ended with diluc.

don't worry Diluc's vape team can still 36 star abyss and will do better single target damage than Xinagling

sometimes you can and sometimes you can't I can't because my artifacts assume I have a crit ascension stat with diluc, but dont with xiangling. who knows maybe that 40% rate will proc everytime tho

@@aregan7577 i haven't been able to 36 since the abyss herald and lector update, 35 everytime and im not bothered enough to go for 36...maybe ill change diluc to xiangling in my second team and try the national comp😑😑

yeah dude. even before this video I'd given Xiangling diluc's artifacts after I finding how broken National Team comp is in Abyss. I used to get 5-6 stars with vape diluc in floor 12 but with National Team I'm currently getting 8 stars and my Xiangling isn't fully upgraded yet.

Half of the video explaining why he chose those top, sad to see that its needed to almost apologize for be sure internet peoples don't hate immediatly. Really great job on this video, its obvious you worked hard on it, congrats!

and that is why this video doesnt have a ton of dislikes, you have to walk on eggshell around simps in character collector games, for most people waify/husbando comes before meta but they still want they simped one to be meta.

My phone can't run Genshin since 1.4 but before that I could play Ganyu alright? Idk. Sometimes the bow characters bug but i think you just had to turn off a specific setting in graphics i don't remember which.

i wasn't expecting such a quality video with a title like this

So many people complain about Xiao's energy recharge and it's funny because all u really need for Xiao is 1 alt to beat a boss if u have high enough crit rate/crit dmg

Mine is good he keep recharge ,ya really need bennet ,sucrose or kazuha give him battery dont forget healer is a must

Not to disagree but it's a weak argument to say all you need is good crit stats when that applies to literally every character with some kind of infusion ability with downtime or large burst damage. Literally, "all you need is good crit stats" is so obvious for every damage-dealing character.

Not forgetting Xiao's high jumps lets you dodge most attacks and it staggers. Super useful against the twin geovishaps in abyss. They can roll and stomp all over the place but my Xiao just pogos along.

You can use Venti/Kazuha to group enemies and make a one target dps hit everyone at the same time.

Actually the abyss is just away to change the meta on genshin because a new character is released. Like they buffed elemental mastery and you need crowd control on the new floors when kazuha releases

Meta will probably change depending on which character they'll release, that's how the game works I think
