There really isn't any such think as a crop sensor lens... They are just smaller... I'm using all of my old EF and EF-S lenses with an adapter.

That's wrong. There's absolutely a very distinctive difference. The crop sensor lenses have a smaller image circle. Yes, you can use EF-S and RF-S lenses on a a full frame R camera, but the cameras go into crop mode and no longer use the full sensor and megapixels.

@@gerrya2133 You are missing my point, I said they are smaller lens, but you can use full-frame lenses on a crop sensor camera, you aren't limited to "crop sensor" lenses.

@@lbeetech Of course you can but there is no point in buying ff lenses if you never intend to go to ff. There certainly are crop sensor lenses.

I've had the RP for a couple of years, My lenses are the RF 50mm f/1.8, RF 24-105 f/4-7.1, RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 and a Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EF mount w/adapter. I also have the Fotodiox Pro 35mm Auto Macro Tube. I recently purchased the R10 and have to say that all my lenses work extremely well on it. In many cases, better than on my RP. I'm looking at getting the RF 16mm but it will be primarily for Milky Way shots on the RP. The Tamron is the oddball, as far as balance and handling. If I'm not after birds, I tend to have the 24-105 mounted on the R10. It makes for a great, lightweight, economical combo that you can carry around all day.

Finding the setup that works for you is key 😊 You might have totally different needs then someone else, so as long as you’re happy with what you got you’re golden 😊👏🏻

Greit video :D Was looking for R7 for indoor sports. Got R6 and might get a 2nd (used) instead + RF 70-200 f/2.8 (use Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 G1 on 1DX - heavy setup shooting long days).

I got the rf 24mm and the rf 85mm. Both are really good

I guess your sigma 35mm is an EF mount lens, so yes you need the EF to EOS R adapter for that to work.

Hi. No, that will only work for the EOS M line of cameras. For the EOS R10 and R7 I would use Canons regular EF-EOS R adapter.

RF and EF-M are two different and mutually entirely incompatible systems.

Could You please check how is sharpness of 35mm 1.8 rf lens on Canon R7 sensor? Other KZreadr did comparison with this lens and it was much sharper on the R6. I’m not sure if resolution of full frame lens doesn’t match R7’s 32mpix resolution or it was something like shake from shutter on R7🤔

Went for cheaper Panasonic S5… everything is great in it apart from autofocus 🤣 however it’s possible to learn how to deal with it! 😎 But I still follow news about Canon and Sony… when time comes I will get Canon as well!😎 Greetings from UK 🇬🇧

A sensor of a camera isn't going to effect the sharpness of a lens...it has to be the lens...

Wow, definitely going to wait a year or two before going with the R cameras. I have a suite of EF-M that didn’t cost all that much. I hope there will be similar small and affordable RF-S eventually, but IMHO it’s half-baked right now.

Yeah, the RF-S lens lineup is not that impressive at the moment.. they have put out decent cameras with cropped sensors, specially the R7, so why they don’t follow up with the lenses I don’t know.

@@RogerAVHansen I'll be optimistic and figure they will, eventually. At _that_ point, maybe I'll be ready for something other than my M6ii (or it will be broken by then). I'm in no hurry but I don't get the market strategy. You'd go nuts thinking too much about how camera companies think, tho.

Does it crop more if using the rf vs the rfs?

Three solid lenses for the Canon EOS R7 are The Sigma 30mm F/1.4, 50-100mm F/1.8 and Tokina 11-20mm F/2.8

Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 is great, but it’s a heavy and old EF lens so you need an adapter for that. If you want to go native RF mount I would suggest RF16mm f/2.8 or the more expensive 15-35 f/2.8.. it all depends on your budget 😊

I'm not a professional photographer. I own a Canon M50, which is lovely, but I want to upgrade to the Canon R7 for it's IBIS, Animal Eye detect, Larger Battery etc... will it be a smart upgrade? considering that for a hobbyist, cellphone cameras may soon beat the R7 in a couple of years. Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.

If IBIS is important to you the R7 is a nice choice. But I would advise you to look at the new full frame R8 also before deciding. And yes, it’s a good upgrade compared to smartphones, and I don’t think smartphones will compete with “real” cameras in a couple of years.. interchangeable lenses and big sensors will beat smartphones for several years to come 😊

Cellphone cameras will beat actual cameras??????? Brother I am currently using a sony a58, which is a 10 year old entry level camera... It still beats any smartphone camera, I doubt smartphone cameras will ever beat actual cameras

It is a little difficult question to answer, but in my opinion, depending on how you take photos of toys, the 85mm f2 would be great for that. With the 85mm f2 you also have macro capabilities, so you’re able to get really close. But for street photography the 85mm will be a little limited in my opinion. For street photography the 50mm f/1.8 will be more suitable. But if it was me, I would go for the 35mm f/1.8 for street photography. I think that’s a more practical focal length for that type of photography. Hope this was an answer to your question 😊

Depends on your budget, but the faster the lens (the lower the f number) the better. 1.2/1.4/1.8… But the key of filming in low light is lighting and lighting correctly.

Really informative video (especially for us new R7/R10 users!). May I suggest something? The quality of your videos is top-notch, they're informative and the image quality and the color grading are aesthetically pleasing. However, I almost didn't click your last two videos when I was searching for R10 videos because of the thumbnails. I feel like they're not doing the videos justice. They feel somewhat cheap compared to the video itself. So that's just something I observed and might be valuable to you. I really liked the thumbnail of your "BUDGET EF to RF adapter for Canon R7 and R10 - with built in VND filter" video though. As far as video ideas, if you already got SD cards of different speeds (UHS-I, UHS-II) lying around, you could compare them in terms of video (is 4k 60 possible at all?) and burst shooting capabilities with the new R7 and R10.

You totally right, I do need to make better thumbnails ☺️ It’s not my strongest side, and the thumbnail is just something I put together when I’m uploading the video 😄 But they say that the thumbnail is very important, and I agree.. Sigma makes that lens in a full frame version now. It has a letter in the part number to indicate full frame. I can’t remember what it is. I’ll be back.

Is there such a thing as budget RF lenses in the UK? One telephoto lens can cost double what I paid for my first car. Cheaper but not cheap.

La R7 y la R 10 canon a día de hoy no ha sacado ningún objetivo para este sensor apsc luminosos y de buena calidad como los que hay para full frame. Canon nos ha abandonado a nuestra suerte. Mi guerra hacia canon es así, he tapado logos de la marca y modelo, a día de hoy nadie cuando mir mi cámara no sabe que marca llevo, lo 1uw hago si preguntan es que le digo otra marca , esto es David contra Goliat, tampoco deja abierta la montura para terceros
