We all know the r/MK gatekeepers hate on Akko , but if you look at it objectively , us , "the normies" are absolutely not willing to wait for GMK , let alone spend 150$ for keycaps and wait 6 months. I do have one of Akko sets and do plan on getting more. "Oh but that's such a disrespect to others hardwork , you can't just copy , it's not fair" - Yes , yes it is.It's what China do. I've read that too many times on there - China does that with everything , just because it affects your hobby doesn't make difference , especially for us average Joe's. I am more into mice and mousepads and we're always happy to see a "copycat" , more options is always better for the consumer as some for example *cough* finalmouse *cough* abuse the market with ridiculous prices and drops. The only thing i am not a huge fan of is Akko's box. You literally need keycap puller to take out the keycaps. I do own Glorious keycap set , box feels cheap but it works. Still , better than G.skill Crystal bag packaging , i genuinely hate it. Just got the Crystals yesterday and holy smokes , that packaging is retarded. I do appreciate the plastic case , but wish the caps were a bit more loose/easy to get.

@@Divinity_vA I totally agree with you on this. R/mk is so toxic sometimes, if you post a photo of a keyboard that costs less than 800 bucks it's consideted trash and cheap. I do like keyboards and all but I do no consider myself as part of the community, I'm just a guy who likes keyboards. And about the akko packaging, I think you've got a point but in the other hand it's better for transportation, since the keycaps are secure in place they have less of a chance to come all scratched up.

@@ldmun I am really not that much into the hobby , honestly. I just enjoy a new board from time to time and really don't see myself shilling over 200-300$ on a keyboard. I just want to try different tactiles (as i do find linears boring and similar). I just got my Gamakay K61 with blue switches due to low availability and while waiting for stabs and glorious panda's to arrive i do kind of enjoy the blue's ngl so i may give a chance to some higher quality clickies too in future. I am also waiting for NK65 which i plan to equip with Black inks and Razer's new Phantom keycaps (the NK is Smokey acrylic) so as you can tell i am really not into "very expensive". I just like headphones and keyboards as a side hobby to my mice and pads addiction. Really don't want to dig down too much as these 2 are a lot more expensive (keebs and audio). Just want to enjoy it all without being a part of r/MR , MK , MPR , AP. As all 4 have nice community members but also toxic gatekeepers. Good point on the transportation part , but they are secured enough with the cardbox on the outside to prevent it from accidentaly opening. So they could reduce the box height , stick a foam on the top to compress the keycaps and we're good to go. But , yes , it is good as it is , better than most of the competition. For 60$ getting a plastic box wrapped in high quality cardbox is a bargain by itself let alone the keycaps.

AKKO keycaps are by far the best Bang for buck at the moment, the text are not perfect but its 95% there for a quarter of the price. It comes in a nice storage case as well. Hope AKKO gets better and better, cause they are the company we need, not Group buys that take a year to come through and keycaps that look worn out after a year of use.

honestly i dont really get why people keep calling epbt high quality. I have epbts here and the set is pretty much unusable. Every key from capslock to both shifts to enter to backspace is warped. all of the spacebars are warped. My 6.25u spacebar is even warped THAT crazy that if i press down on one side, it literally jumps off the stab on the other side. Meanwhile a friend of mine has some random cheap amazon keycaps like hk gaming and stuff and when i compare them...they feel just as good. nothing is warped, they sound better... thats my last epbt set, and hopefully i can get it sold anytime soon without usable spacebars and stuff

@Yayayay guy is talking out of his ass. Doubleshot plastic doesn't fade. That only happens to incredibly, mythically terrible dye sub (which is to say 99.999%to never), and pad printed keycaps (the office keyboard keycaps). Double shot is literally making plastics shaped like the symbol in the first color(the letter "A", for example), and injecting a second colour of plastic to act as the keycap shell to surround it. Hence, doubleshot. How the guys fingers can manage to "erase" that much plastic in 6 months is just plain outright lying. If we take his claim as fact then shouldn't the plastic shell also have worn down at the same rate as the disappearing legends? How can he erase plastic legends and somehow leave the surrounding plastic intact? This person has clearly never touched a single doubleshot keycap set in his life.

Akko is in a different class/category - not necessarily better/worse overall - to the more popular higher end sets. The mainstream high end sets trade functionality for looks, whereas doubleshot PBT from Akko, Tai Hao etc go the other way and are more functional even if they aren't as well made/finished. A few examples: On the PBT side, EPBT are dye sub rather than doubleshot, so Akko are a step above in terms of longevity even if they are less consistent. On the ABS side, the likes of GMK are much nicer to look at but ABS wears out much, much quicker and is much less practical than PBT if you intend to use them on a daily basis for productivity/gaming. GMK wear out so quickly that within a year of daily productivity/office use, your keycaps will be a different height on the same row and your most heavily used keys will start having the stem poke through.
